How Bateman's career was in the toilet a just a few years ago - basically he was no more than a washed up child sitcom actor. But since Arrested Development, he is racking up a pretty good resume of character parts. I really look forward to projects he is attached to these days.

'The Heartbreak Kid'? Produced and directed by The Farrelly Brothers, starring Ben Stiller and Michelle Monaghan? That movie has nothing to do with Judd Apatow, besides for the fact that Danny McBride was in a small role in that and was also in one of the movies he produced. I know it's cool to hate on whatever's popular, but if you're going for incisive social commentary, at least try to be a little more creative in your criticism. Anyway this movie looks okay but pretty bland, Apatow involvement or not.
Oh yeah...

There's a difference between "Judd Apatow-ish" and "made by Judd Apatow." Like how CHARADE was Hitchcock-ish, but not made by Hitchcock. Or the fact that you're trying to jump all over my jock about this is *dick-ish*, but I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you're not a dick.

And for the record, I'm not hating so much as yawning. When this winds up streaming on Netflix in a few months, I'll probably watch it.

And CHRISTMAS STORY is not over-rated. Kids these days, I'm tellin' ya...

Is that P.B. has been with Favs for a very long time, mostly as a producer and best bud. Look further down on IMDB and you'll see. If you go too far, and you see "A Christmas Story" I don't think they were together then...although I'm not sure.

Also, this movie looks to be funny and enjoyable. More for my wife, than for me, but we'll see.

I mean, dang, maybe I'm simple or something, but I was smiling all the way through that thing. Funny doesn't necessarily need to be gut busting guffaws. Actors playing NORMAL characters that keep you interested and smiling, that you can maybe relate to a little bit are missing from the big screen right now. Particularly those over, say, 25. Personally, I don't need gross out or quirky all the time. Beyond that I actually thought more than a couple of those lines could lead to funny scenes, which makes me want to see the entire movie. Once upon a time that's what a good trailer did. I'll be going to see this one in the theater, methinks.

big studio productions she gets cast in, Kristen Bell will never, EVER find a more interesting or multi dimension character to play than Veronica Mars. It's all the "girlfriend" or the "wife" in mediocre comedies from here on out from here on out, babe. And what the hell do people have against Club Paradise? I remember seeing it as a kid and loved it. I saw it agian recently and still thinks it holds up. It's no Caddyshack, but it's not that bad.

You're right, it was kind of dick-ish move of me, sorry about that. I had a bit too much to drink last night and it didn't really come out the way I wanted it to. Anyway I just see a lot of Apatow backlash on this site and elsewhere and I don't really think he deserves it. To be honest I'm not a big fan of the stuff he writes and directs himself, but I think he's a good producer and "the state of comedy" is better now than it's been since Harold Ramis's heyday..
