Did anyone else go to the Chicago screening for this three weeks ago? Roger Ebert was in attendance.

It strangely reminded me of Annie Hall. In a good way. It may be my favorite rom-com ever...which sounds like faint praise, I know, but there have been good ones, people. This is a GREAT one. Actually, it's more of an anti-rom-com in a way. But it's definitely tied with "Up" as my favorite movie I've seen this year so far.

this was the biggest emotional gauntlet of a film I've ever experienced. funny, sad, sweet, beautiful, angry, traumatic. wow.

Not to be critical, because I love the screenings and all the films I've been able to go to thanks to Capone, but tonight I went to my second screening of this in the Chicago area and Fox Searchlight is offering free passes on their site for this screening and others, it doesn't seem like something that needs it. Anyway, best of luck to those going, it's a very entertaining film.
On the other hand...

I just checked again and it says this one is filled on Fox Searchlight's site, so I guess this is worthy of contest-ness, etc. Landmark is certainly better than River East too.
Zooey's super cute and all . . .

. . . but my GOD it blows my mind how so many fanboys seem to ejaculate all over their monitors whenever there's a talkback involving her. I like to think she'd be creeped the fuck out by all of you.
I honestly thought this movie had already come out

I saw it last night here in NYC. It was similar to the film Peter and Vandy I saw screened a few months ago. The story moves back and forth through Deschanel and Levitts relationship, tell bits and pieces of the story out of chronological order. Well done, I recommend it.
Zooey is beautiful.

Very entertaining flick, but still pretty lightweight. The one thing that has really stuck with me is the soundtrack. Whoever the music supervisor was really put together a great collection of songs, and married them perfectly to the visuals. As for Zooey - she gets on my fucking nerves. She only plays one role, over and over. One of these days, she's going to be too old to play the quirky artsy chick, and then she'll be out of a job.
