I'm glad about the outcome, TSCC could wrap up nicely in some DVD movies, there's bigger potential in Dollhouse, but Reilly's statement, is just sad for everybody involved. Sad for Fox, it let's rabid nerds dictate. Sad for TSCC for obvious reasons, and sad for Dollhouse, because they can stay on air only not for their own merit, but as a pathetic gesture for Whedon's canceled, better shows and to avoid bitching. I am not the smartest man in the world (Fuck, just look at the screen name I chose), but wouldn't it have been smart if Fox aired just ONE Dollhouse episode after an episode of American Idol. Just show commercials FILLED with Eliza's clevage in commercials, show a kick ass stand alone episode and see what happens.

Please write the second season knowing full fucking well you're definitely not getting a third. Your fans would like some fucking resolution. Stop holding all the good episodes til the middle of the season, and STOP WITH THE STANDALONE SHIT! Dollhouse works better as a serialized story, as do most shows. I still don't understand why Fox seems to be the only station that wants to do that shit.

Really? When shows on your own network (Family Guy) make jokes about how crap 'Til Death is do you really think it's worth bringing back? And then to pair it with Dollhouse? There's no thematic link there at all -- the only thing they have in common is abysmal viewership!

If you want Dollhouse dead just kill it. And if you want to keep the Whedon link alive but can't justify the time slot due to the aud totals, switch it to FX -- the fans will follow it and you'll take the handcuffs off a show that actually could use the leeway for the subject matter.

On a different note, is there a reason that Lie To Me only gets a front season pick-up? Can they only get Tim Roth for 13 episodes a year or are they planning on holding off and using a full season pickup as a fall back for the inevitable cancellations?

"When there is an unusual or imminent threat that can't be solved through "normal" means of protection, Chance is hired to completely integrate himself into his clients' lives to become the human target. If you're a corporate manager whose disgruntled employee has gone violently off the deep end, Chance is your new auditor. If you're the president of a bank who's been tipped off to a potential heist, Chance is your unassuming bank teller." How the fuck is that integrating himself into the lives of his clients? How the fuck does that make him a human target? He wouldn't be an auditor, he'd be the corporate manager knowing that crazy employee is coming for him. He wouldn't be a bank teller, he'd be the manager knowing full well they're coming to straight to him. As I said before in my first review of the pilot script, Chance is a dick who stands off on the sidelines for most of the action. This show has absolutely nothing going for it. Not even Rorschach would save this.

With NBC essentially abdicating the 10:00 timeslot due to Jay Leno's ego, if I were FOX I'd immediately start programming (counterprogramming!) in that slot. Fringe and Dollhouse would, IMHO, positively flower in that more appropriate time, especially given the new lack of competition. As it stands now, I suspect both shows' second season will be their last.

That is a great idea except for the fact that local stations have the first right to air their news or syndicated shows. Its not that the stand alone episodes don't work, it's that Dollhouse isn't CSI or fucking Law & Order. It actually has a bigger story to tell and spending five weeks trying to get everyone used to what it is the dolls do was crippling. The strongest episodes of the season were the ones where the mythology was allowed to be explored.

That's a joke, right? An optimistic highschool teacher helping kids realize their potential? Me thinks this is going to be a huge waste of talent in terms of Jane Lynch. She kills every time she is on screen, but there is no way she is going to be able to keep this thing stringing along....and wasn't this the plot to Sister Act 2? (And wasn't Sister Act 2 the plot of every other movie about an outsider going to a highschool to help kids realize their true potential?)

Remember Fox has to go off air at 10pm for the affiliates...

I remember when Bryan Cranston would "complain" that Brad Garrett would always win the best supporting comedy actor Emmy over him. But Cranston now has Breaking Bad, Garrett's got Till Death...nice trade off I'd say. A Fox exec must have fantasies over Fisher's sweater puppies (God knows I have) to keep that thing on the air.

This is the most telling thing on the schedule. It means FOX is slowly going to kill off American Dad, the same way it did Futurama and King of the Hill. I know a lot of you don't care about American Dad, but personally, it and King of the Hill are the only shows that make me laugh on their Sunday lineup. Furthrmore, they have unaired King of the Hill episodes, they're not going to even air those next year? The episode theiy aired last night would make for a terrible unintentional series finale. Maybe the episodes will be aired at 7:30 once American Dad is removed completely from the lineup, after being in the timeslot for three weeks.

I'm sure Joss will make it a much better show this time around, but we all know it won't get a third season. It's on Fridays still, and has a worse leadin, and now Fox can say "well we at least gave them a second year." So all we're going to have happen now is have an actually GOOD show, that we care about being cancelled, rather than a mediocre one going before anyone cared.

Fuck Fox for making the wrong decision. They've historically done this so often in the past, that it's become a sad joke. They'd have gotten 110 million emails? 1% of that, if they were lucky. And that'd be more than one email per fan at that.

If Whedon had 110 million fans, don't you think Serenity would have made close to a billion dollars?

what's really interesting about this Dollhouse renewal, is that Fox is showing that it's willing to consider DVR and Hulu viewings, instead of the old Nielsen model. Maybe there's hope that networks will embrace new media business models. Dollhouse did very well in that area. Terminator didn't. Face it, V'Shael, Dollhouse was a better prospect in every area.

Terminator consistantly outperformed Dollhouse in DVR numbers and was among the top sellers on iTunes etc. There is only one major reason it wasn't renewed and Dollhouse was. DH is a Fox production so any dvd sales = profit for them. Terminator is made by WB therefore Fox receives no cut of the dvd profits. end of story. and end of show too, the cunts.
