set in the past never work for some reason. Think of the phantom, the spirit, the shadow...so many attempts at period superheros, and they all died at the b.o, even if they were actually good ala the Rocketeer. Can anyone fill me in on the green hornet? I dont think its a comic book character...never heard of a green hornet comic. Was it an old tv show?
Love Michel and his videos.

arrives to vent about this movie (while simultaneously claiming he has no interest in it) becos Seth Rogen is in it? Few things bring out his irrational hate more than when there is a post about someone that he has a serious bug up his ass about...
all the while claiming how objective he is...lol

Holy shit does that movie suck. Nothing is more frustrating than watching characters expend a tremendous amount of energy trying to fix a problem that really only takes the most minimal amount of effort. Seriously, rent the movies on DVD and transfer them to VHS. Yes, a boring movie that would be, but at least it doesn't insult anyone's intelligence.

I'm ordering two copies as we speak. I'm sure Vern will appreciate the teaming of Gondry and Seagal, even if it was a fluke. Thanks for the article, Beaks.

Short story: Radio show created as a loose spinoff of The Lone Ranger in the '30s. Spawned comics and movie serials but eventually died out. Came back in the '60s as a TV show. More comics. Died again. Kinda came back in the '90s as a comic book series from NOW that tied all the seemingly disparate incarnations together as a family lineage. (This is how I learned about GH and it's my favorite.) There's a lot more than that, but you'd just have to Wiki it. So, yeah... There ARE still Green Hornet fans out there.

I must be really old-school, because I had no idea MTV ever _started_ showing them. I'm kind of surprised music videos are still being made... where are they released to? Special DVD compilations? Youtube? MTV is a wasteland, now.

His skill does not translate well to motion pictures, and in fact his heavy hand almost singlehandedly sank the brilliance of the ESOTSM screenplay.

He is the master of creating ethereal interpretations of music and sustaining that vision for a few minutes. That doesn't make you a storyteller.

This Story Shouldn't Be On AICN

What is this story? It's not a rumor. It's not really news. It's PR for Michel Gondry. I'll bet Michel Gondry's publicist gave AICN this story. Based on what people say in the talk back, the studio will decide what to let Gondry do with Green Hornet and what they won't let him with it. AICN used to print rumors like perezhilton.com but now all of the articles on this site are carefully constructed PR stories that are meant to manipulate you into thinking some movie is "cool". Don't read this site anymore. Have you noticed that Variety is more comprehensive with their industry news than AICN? That's pretty sad. Nowadays, AICN is used to hock soundtracks. I'll bet some media corporation like Time Warner bought this site and didn't tell you about it. This site is like Entertainment Tonight.
Thanks Beaks

Can't wait to pick this up. Whenever I have a party I put the directors series on in the backround. Romanek's and Gondry's are excellent. Good show, bro.
