If that picture doesn't get a "huh?" out of you, then good for you.

It took me a minute to take it all in. The "first" thing has never impressed me. You should be thanking me for not typing that, the way all the morons do.

I consider it advertising.

There's a place for that: it's all up along the sides and around this sit, they're called pop-ups and banners.

Why do the articles themselves have to be advertisements.

At least he's upfront about it this time.

How do I profit from this? I have no stake in the gallery or any of the art. I bought one for myself - and I found something that I wanted for myself, while noting that the pop-culture nature of the artwork - that people that come to Ain't It Cool News may in fact be as amused and interested in the artwork to look at or purchase - and I don't see so much as a percentage. Hmmmm...

Just recently been watching old eps online and what a brilliant show. I don't know, Dr. DirtyD, anything related to quality like the Twilight Zone is cooler to me than whatever rat shit Michael Bay is doing now (it's all pretty interchangeable rat shit - and yes, that does include the first Transformers, aka rat shit).

Maybe you do since it's clear that the studio's have been handing you envelopes of cash since you started this fucking site but the rest of us plebs have little things to pay for like, say, rent, food, phone, internet, car insurance, gas, school, textbooks, you know, all that shit you avoided by becoming Hollywood’s tubby little bitch. I hope you fucking choke the next time your beard fills your trough with Twinkies.

What the hey? Some folks need to calm down. Who said you had to buy anything? Yes, they art is for same but you can also just look for the love of Mike. Like an online walk through a trippy pop art gallery. If someone took you to an art gallery in real life, would you get into a snit over the fact that the art was for sale or yell at your friend that you had no money to buy anything. No. Unless you're an ass. You'd walk around and enjoy checking out the art.
The problem is Harry whores this site out so much...

its hard to tell what he's been payed for and what he hasn't. thanks to his long history of ads diguised as stories, bluray/HDDVD pushing, and positive reviews in return for access, the opinions and integrity of this site is worth exactly jack shit.

You know - people like you cause the most laughs I get. The only ADS as STORIES that I see anything at all from are the DVD column - and I'm very upfront about it. In America - there's no harm in making a disclosed profit.

BluRay and HD-DVD never have paid me a dime to promote their brands - I do so because they are superior products with which to watch film at home. That's not up for debate, they're the best. Far better than HD cable.

And as for "Positive reviews for access" - There is no statements or deals that any site that I know of makes that works in this manner. Studios grant access to sets, actors, talent, etc - because when you write those articles in advance of a film's release... the set visits are almost always positive, because at that point - the work you see is limited and always looks good. By the time you can see a film - that's the end of it all. The only "DEAL" that any reviewer makes with studios is if the studio shows you the movie early - and you like/love the movie, you can write or review that film instantly - but if you hate it or dislike it - you can review the film the day of release, like regular reviewers. This has been the "rule" going back pretty much forever. Ebert, Kael and many others have all agreed to this same policy.

Feel free to be a doubting Thomas - that's fine, if our positions were reversed I'd probably call you a shill if I didn't know you.

My money doesn't come from Studios saying, "Love this or else" - it comes from Ad revenue on AICN - which comes from a third party ad firm. And a 9000 acre ranch I have in North Texas. And that's a fact.

are you really surprised a few bitter people feel the need to bitch that you showed us an awesome art gallery?

you should even bother defending yourself. its not like the whiney bunch are going to all of a sudden say.."hey you're right, i was wrong."

anyway, if i won the lottery i think i would buy almost every piece for my gallery. (this is, of course, after i win the lottery.)

as it is, i think i may buy the second small wonder print. (although both are cool) it's only $30 for an awesome image of her destroying a suburb.

after that, i think i would save up for the 'it's always sunny in Philadelphia' one

This site used to be great back in the days when AICN used to post all sorts of tidbits of great info and early reviews. Now Knowles and Co. can’t be bothered to update the fucking site on a regular basis, they actually subject themselves to embargo’s in the case of Watchmen and every other post is about shit that we should buy through this site which is now saturated with advertisements. Harry has become exactly like those lapdog stenographers who sat in the White House press room for the 7 years after 9/11 and took it in the ass from Bushco. because they were afraid of losing their access. Not that Harry ever had an integrity in the first place, I mean, Christ you can go back to 98 and see how he took Armageddon and Godzilla in both pipes because the studio’s threw him some attention and pwesants i.e. payoffs in the form of tickets/free trips to the premieres and freebies. But the studios aren’t that accommodating now are they Knowles? They know that sites like AICN and CHUD represent only a small fraction of the movie going audience and only stoop to waste their time with you when they have geek heavy properties like Watchmen who don’t have much traction in the mainstream. But I’m betting that Knowles isn’t getting as much attention from the studio’s to promote this summers top films like Harry Potter, Transformers, Star Trek, Terminator, G.I. Joe ain’t that right Harry? They show you a sliver of footage, let you speak to the Directors/Writers for five minutes and will send an early print to Austin which is all they need to butter up Jabba the Knowles to get a full on sloppy blowjob from AICN. They’re on to your game and know how to play you. About the only thing Harry knows how to do anymore is ban people. Fuck knows he ain’t delivering any cool news these days.
okay fine, but..

sure, if harry just got back from a studio paid trip from Miami, then told us all that "weekend at bernies 3: a whole new corpse" was a groundbreaking laugh riot.. then yeah, rip him a new one.

but whats the point of freaking out over a tiny post about some cool art that is related to Television. maybe you think its shilling, or not interested, but i fucking was. i spent a good 30 minutes looking over all the paintings that i found enjoyable. DONE. end of story. no one got hurt. anybody who didnt care could have just skipped the link.

any long time reader knows you post what you post unashamedly, unapologetically. but brass tacks: no real scoops here in a long time. merrick is an awfully out of his depth writer who has no voice, wit, or even posts anything that relevant other than recycled news. the real lifeblood of the site has sadly become talkback. we're missing eloquent, passionate writing about geek love, and it's been awhile since you had a set visit that really felt like something you couldn't get anywhere else. i've been here forever, i read this site every day, but honestly lately it's getting weird. i'm not saying you're shilling at all, but there's strange mixed messages, weird posts that don't feel pertinent, and the lifeblood has become talkback, which is fuelled on anonymous powergrabs.

No matter what you do. It's because they secretly lust for you and wish you were a man-whore, so one day they could earn enough to pay you for your sweet loving.

That's what it's all about with these folks, and everybody knows it.

finish that thought:

"and even when they don't, i write gushing reviews of their movies anyway, because I dont care what my word is worth."

"and the directors that won't talk to me? chances are very high I won't like your film at all."

there is more than one form of access, and you'll do anything for it, even sell-out.
