Somehow I'm thinking Sly must be reading our comments. Terry Crews just seems like he'd be a lot more fun to hang out with during shooting than 50 cent. He was great in "Idiocracy," a movie that I can't seem to shake. I find myself quoting it all the time: "It's what plants crave. It's got electrolites." Or, "Tonight on 'Ow, My Balls'--."
Now that's kick ........... ass!

Being Brit, never knew him from his sports career, only from the films and the Chris Rock series.

Thought he showed some acting chops in Street Kings, till he got shot in the back by Ted then drilled like all hell by the crooked cops.

Now Sly, strap him into a chain gun, and it'll make me into a sexual tyranasaurus.

Sly listening to the fanbase or another reason? Because wasn't that %100 confirmed by sly himself? weird. It's all well and good to listen to fans, but pandering to them can be very dangerous. That said I did think 50 was a terrible idea and gave the whole thing less cred than more, but don't listen to me Sly, I'm an idiot fanboy.

If fans actually knew anything, we wouldn't be fans. We certainly wouldn't be posting in a talkback. The great thing about Watchmen is that it proved filmmakers shouldn't pander to fanboys.

I think this thing really is being cast by talkbacks. I guess we better request Oleg Taktarov. But I applaud Sly for choosing President Camacho, who deserves roles like this and who in my opinion is more worthy of being presented as a peer with Stallone, Lundgren, Li, Trejo, Rourke, Roberts, etc.
Now post the script.

50 CENT PERFORMED AT A 13 YEAR OLD GIRLS BAR MITZVAH!!!
by THEFUCKINGCREEPYTHINMAN
Mar 21st, 2009
02:15:49 PM
Back in 2005 this fucking faggot got paid 500,000 to perform like the trained money he is at a fucking 13 year old girls bar mitzvah. The worst part is that her father David H. Brooks, who spent 10 MILLION FUCKING DOLLARS on the bar mitzvah, was a military defense contractor who's company manufactured faulty bulletproof vests for soldiers in Iraq. Last time I read he was being hauled off for a vacation at CLUB FED where he is no doubt getting all the internal rectal massages anyone could want in life from.

Even in a movie like Serving Sara (pretty decent flick imo) he really did well as a cowboy bounty hunter type. Goes to show Stallone was testing out fiddy and when he saw the negative reaction he knew he had to change it. Supposedly TC is a good Christian dude, so I approve of this casting; then again, anything's better than the last Hale Cesar cast by Stallone

02:27:34 PM
Why did Terry Crews get cast into this role after that little speechy email about no one initially bought Dolph Lundgren as Drago and Carl Weathers as Creed? Could it be he succumbed to the fans? Let's face it, the only 2 flicks Stallone's had as hits were from his old Rocky and Rambo franchises, this is the first new one he's done in a while so he knew he had to please the hardcore; speaking of hardcore, this flick better be R!

His "Cheeseburger Eddy" is the best thing about The Longest Yard. He's the best thing in the Get Smart Bruce and Lloyd DVD. He's the best actor in Everybody Hates Chris! He's simply the best thing since sliced Hawaiian Bread.

And a good actor to boot. Even with his small part in "Street Kings" he was good. "Idiocracy was a great film... but it was straight-to-DVD" DUN, DUUUUN!
Why don't they get Carl Weathers?
by DivisionPost
Mar 21st, 2009
02:35:12 PM
Because Carl Weathers is a fucking pussy. When he was in the ring with Lundgren during Rocky IV, Weathers cowered in the corner and said - dead serious, mind you - "If he touches me, I'll get my lawyer."

I mean, there's not wanting to get fucked up by Dolph Lundgren, and then there's pissing your pants in fear of getting hit by Dolph Lundgren. Carl Weathers doesn't deserve to be an Expendable.

Hi Sly, hopefully you know what you are doing casting TERRY. While the guy isn't a bad actor, 50 Cent could have been better for the role (maybe) and a bigger box-office pull. Also, Terry sometimes comes off like a big FOOL in plenty of the roles he's played. I won't judge too much since you must have test screen the guy. But for the love of god...and for the love of the fans, the love of regular audience members, for the love of guys that grew up with you in the 80's...PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE write a great juicy cameo ICONIC role for ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER! I can't stress this enough! DON'T let Arnie play himself because it would come off stupid that Barney knows actor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Then that means Stallone (the actor) must exist in this movie world also, which looks stupid. If Arnie is to play a small, small role, please give him a gun, some bad ass lines, military fatigues and let him be pumped like you. The fans deserve something ICONIC for the first film with STALLONE & SCHWARZENEGGER!

"I knew you couldn't resist my shit! I got the shakes that'll make you quake. I got the fries that'll cross your eyes. I got that burgers that'll... I just got burgers."

Mr. Jackson wasn't too pleased with his replacement, and swore on his "mamma grave" that an entire diss CD was in the making and scheduled to release as soon as possible.

T.Crews reportedly proceeded to keep things to the point and simply asked 50Cent why he was being "such a McAsshole" & informed him that the McRib was coming back this summer and he knew who wasn't getting the "hook up."

Crews then reminded him to sit his "monkey ass down" because he had some other important shit to say.

Would you like to try our ULTRA BIG ASS ACTION CAST!?

Another shameless Idiocracy plug I know, had to do it though.

On this pandering to fanboys thing, from my point of view movies are my therapy. In the military and/or shitty employment in general just getting the chance to sit back, relax, & pretend you're at home watching *MovieNameHere* is that happy place (if you will) that gets me from one shitty day in the desert to the next. Hell we look forward to the chance to kick back and live in THAT moment no matter how long or short the movie is.

If whoring the TB's with my silly banter, and pleading to an action movie ICON I grew up watching that could or couldn't even be reading all this silly shit...well if that makes me a fanboy so be it. I can live with knowing that movies are my happy place. And a movie like this, coming out of present day Hollywood (read: SHIT) could potentially be spoiled by a millionaire poser...damn right I'm going to raise hell.

Again, well done Sly. Your film deserved a better actor anyway.

It will be called STALL'OWNED!

And Sly will "Punk" the shit out of Hollywood actors on and off sets.

Gibby will make millions after he takes credit for TradeMarking the phrase, and we will have our revenge on Hollywood for all of the bullshit it has remade, messed up, and remade & revisioned again. Furthermore convincing the general public that originality is unnecessary, and turning Joe Moviegoer into a mindless $50 popcorn eating robot.

Dibs on the 50Cent episode though, I gotta see it in person.

About Stallone and Carl Weathers
by P2Rock
Mar 21st, 2009
05:50:53 PM
If you ready the Rocky talkback a few years back you'd know that Stallone and Weathers are no longer fast friends after Weathers held out on him for more money for some cut outs or whatever in ROCKY BALBOA. In those tB's stallone called out Weathers for being a chicken and being scared of Dolph etc. Not very classy, but he was obviously pissed at Weathers. I doubt that he would want to throw Weathers a bone after that but it would be quite a classy move to reconcile. I hope Arnie and Dolph are in this.

He'll be a massive improvement. Oddest reason I know is because I was watching a live feed of the Watchmen premiere and the one interviewer guy was in love with him. Can't tell you what I know him from, but he'll do. :D

For the record the reason 50 Cent was so bad for me is that a) I hate it when they put a rapper in a movie just for the box office because I haven't really seen any evidence that it even works, and b) there is something that is so repugnant about him in my opinion. Maybe it's that image that he has that they sell to the children, but I just want him and the other rappers of his ilk to go away and stop bringing about the fall of western civilization. Other people like Will Smith and LL Cool J aren't even remotely the same thing. They're normal people.

It worked for IDIOCRACY.

Seriously, though, this is a HUGE upgrade. Crews has charisma to burn and is right in every way that 50 was wrong. I still would have liked Bill Duke, Keith David, or Adebisi/Eko (it's tough to get the guy's name right so I won't bother), but Crews rocks and I can't argue against casting him.

FYI, whether he admits he backtracked or not, I give props to Stallone for recognizing a casting mistake and fixing it ASAP.

Not long ago I read something about Sly paying attention to what happens on AICN - I think it was around Rambo time. Anyways going from Forrest to 50 was going from an Expensive Beer to Piss. Going from 50 to Terry is going from Piss to a Beer (not an expensive one). Anyways the decision on the cast change is good for the Brits. The key now is to combine a great cast without over-complicating the story. I'm sure most of these dudes will want their Limelight but they really shouldn't be thining about "I". There is no "I" in team. Hope it goes well. It may not be the best movie ever. But if it can stick to a fairly believable story, maintain the momentum and compliment each character, then we may be in for another Stallone success.

Is that he actually cares to consider the thoughts of the average movie goer. He can give me the old "Believe in my talent as a director" etc. But as history has proven, even the greatest directors have had a bad day (Nolan is yet to dissappoint me though). Ultimately the movie is being made for our viewing pleasure. We the audience have the power to dub flicks a hit or miss. Paying attention to what WE are saying is a sensible thing to do. I'm not saying the fans are always right there are difference of opinions. But you have to weigh up the balance of them opinions. I would guess that over 80% (if not more) of fans have said 50 Cent was a bad choice for this movie. With figures like that, it should be a no brainer for movie makers. I applaud Stallone for his efforts to consider our thoughts. Could you imagine if Spielberg and Lucas did the same?? AHEM...

Stallone has the eye always has, I bet 50 would've been good in this, but crews fits the cast better, 50 would've taken away from the overall cast dominance because of his love hate relationship with the range of demographics...Good luck to Crews and the cast, Stallone is notorious for finding diamonds in the rough (ie Carl Weathers, Talia Shire, Milo Ventimilia) even with all the stars in this I expect some of the "Unknown" actors to step their game up and really be the glue holding together a beautiful masterpiece, because they will want to show they have confidence is his faith to direct them and that they belong among the best! Actually, one of my favorite roles with him was the Ping Pong movie. I can't remember the name right now. The problem with that movie was the lead actor and some of the script for the short time Crews was onscreen, he was fantastic. Someone nailed it earlier, he is a scene-stealer.Actually when I clicked on I was kinda hoping for the nostalgic choice of Carl Weathers. But realistically Apollo is not much of an actor.

I agree that Mr. Stallone should not follow all the nuttiness of all these crazy fanboys and their endless suggestions of everyone in the action book. The one thing I want is no role of "Govenor Arnold" in THE EXPENDBALES! If I wanted to see Schwarzenegger play Governor, I would watch the news in California. But if fans and the general public goes out and spends $10.00 to watch THE EXPENDABLES, then Arnold Schwarzenegger should be playing a serious balls-to-the-walls bad ass cameo role. Make the role "gritty, brutalized, scarred" like once reported on AICN. Maybe Arnie will credit Sly for coming back to Hollywood action films once he is having so much fun on Stallone's set. Smoking cigars, shooting guns and having fun...what more could Sly or Arnie ask for on a movie set. Hey Sly, suggest to your funder pal Avi Lerner to not make a new Conan film and to give Schwarzenegger KING CONAN. What would Rambo be like without Sly. So what would Conan be like without Arnie. KING CONAN could be as cold and brutal and AWESOME as Rambo was!

It is worst than VAN DAMME http://stallonezone.com/wordpr ess/ Mar 18 Sly on Kurt Russell & “The Expendables” 2009, Celebs, Expendables No Comments » Hey SZoners, Here’s the latest from Sly: I know that many people on the site have asked for Kurt Russell. I asked for him too. Actually, I was taken aback when asked to put the request in a letter and send it to his agent. Subsequently, I was called back by the agent several days later after refusing to send a letter and he said Kurt Russell is not interested in ‘ensemble acting’ at this time. So, People, I came, I saw, I failed. Best, Sly

Sly, Arnie, Dolph, Crews, Stone Cold, Statham, Rourke...all these guys are muscle bound dudes. Now that it has sunken in, TERRY CREWS might be a very good choice. In STALLONE I trust, much like JAMES CAMERON. I can't wait for behind-the scenes photos and a teaser trailer. Heck, I can't wait until Stallone talks Schwarzenegger into a decent size cameo role of 5-10 minutes. Regarding your line from a few posts up:
"I agree that Mr. Stallone should not follow all the nuttiness of all these crazy fanboys and their endless suggestions of everyone in the action book."

My response:
In my opinion, it's not nuttiness, it's called brainstorming. It's people throwing things out there, sometimes in a joking way (How serious was I when I proposed Carl Winslow?). When people throw out 10 names, imo that doesnt mean they want all 10 names in the movie.

There's a saying in marrketing that goes like this:
Happy customers tell 2 people. Unhappy customers tell 10.

In my opinion the AICN articles here do double-duty: They allow for fan interaction, and they promote happy customers. So when a Sly fan is happily throwing out 100 names and feeling as if Sly just might be reading, let him do so. It's for good things.

terry crews is a great choice! fan boy talk left or right doesnt matter, u did the best thing listening 2 us. this movie got so much positive feedback/vibes in the last 4-6 months. it was top 5 @imdb in search last year already! besides: tdk and harry potter & twillight etc so thats a good sign right?!with every name added 2 the cast from lundgren over rourke and arnold the hype was getting bigger and bigger, but then 50 came and the first time people felt fukked up. in every talkback i was in, fans and people hated the idea. cus THE PEOPLE ARE SICK OF RAPPERS IN THE MOVIES! rappers already fukked movies up like "exite wounds" "triple x 2" and "assault on precint 13" and the list goes on and on. and it really doesnt matter how good a director is...cus all the others cant be that bad, or can they? the talks about will smith was a rapper once is bullshit! he was always the freaking "prince of bel air" in the first place 4 me.so a tv star who made records and calling will a rapper would be a shame for the rap comunity. man he was even dissed by the only white rapper eminem. will smith is still in my opinion always playing himself, people like him, but he`s a lausy actor, always will be and i dont care if he has 10 oscars at his home! well at this moment he`s the bigget star, even if tom cruise is getting back 2 top him! about 50, fiddy had problems playing him self in "get rich" and this was about himself, damn it! and if rappers were such money makers in the movies, why are those movies a bomb like "triple x 2" and rightous kill" and this freakin movie had de niro and pacino in it? about some people say now, u shouldnt listen 2 the fanboys in the first place...well...this movie is a movie for fan boys!!!!! it really will not be an oscar flick isnt?!;) cus we all wanted something like this 2 happen in years/decades!!! well rourke had no career since "the wrestler" lundgren still has not a career, jet li & statham still at top...but with one feet in dvd hell!eric roberts is a great actor, but also in direct 2 dvd hell since decades. arnold is a no show in movies etc but the thing is...there is this one great talent who puts em together and makes THE BEST ACTION MOVIE OF ALL TIMES out of it! and man u tried on stupid jcvd, wesley, kurt, u tried on sandy, ben and forrest, my respect dude! but if some people now tell ya u cant do a fan boy movie because of "watchmen" well i tell ya, it made 98 mil until today and worldwide 147 mil! 150 mil. budget!!! it will make worldwide at least 200 mil. and on rentals on sells another 200-300 mil. makes 500 mil. minus 150 mil. budget. makes 350 mil PLUS!!!!! this aint a hit?? well i would love 2 have such a bomb in my pocket!;)and thats just about a comic, only the comic community adores. its not like "watchemn" is about a popcorn event hit like "iron man"! this shit anit got sly stallone who made a solid 100 mil with rambo, sad 2 say it... but with a dead franchise and strong rated r! this shit aint got arnold back, rourke, li, statham...this shit aint got all these bad asses togehter in it! we know this is our movie and u know it 2. this movie is for all the action fans, this movie is for all the material arts fans, its for all the 80`s and 90`s fans. this movie is for us geeks, nerds movie lovers and fan boys! so listing 2 us may not be the badest thing 2 do. of course u can not get all from my list or twinky doodles, or antchrist777s list. but on trying 2 please us and of course urself is worth trying. cus one day when u retire sly...u can look back and smile and say 2 urself i did it, what not even this once highly praised (overrated prick)tarantino could. i brought all the possible bad asses in one movie! i made the coolest, best action movie of all times...by just having em in one movie and we kicked ass in it! thx for that and dont listen 2 us anymore, just do what u would do when u were a fan of movies. wouldnt u want 2 bring all ur idols together in one movie? mix it up with some hitmakers and fan choices and u have something for eternity besides rocky and rambo! thx for being a different filmaker, one who listens 2 the fans, when needed! these are the moments, a reminder why u were my idol as a kid and the reason why i wanted 2 be an actor or filmmaker...even an amateur low budget one!:) thanks for listening!

USING SUPERSTITION TO DETERMINE SLY MOVIE RELEASE :)
by GibsonUSA Returns
Mar 23rd, 2009
02:34:00 AM
Just for fun. :)

- The Expendables is scheduled to open next year.
However, Sly's last two movies released on the '0', Rocky in 1990, and Get Carter in 2000, were not his biggest hits. Uh oh?

-It's better not to release a Sly movie in yrs ending in the low numbers, 0-1, as these movies include the above mentioned along with Oscar and Nighthawks (in terms of commercial success).

-Yrs ending in "2" is a 50/50 toss-up. On one side you have Rambo 1 and Rocky III, and on the other you have D-Tox and Stop or My Mom Will Shoot. It's 50/50.

-The safest bet is to release a Sly movie in a yr ending in the mid-numbers, 5 or 6, which so far include Rocky, Rocky IV, Cobra, and Rocky Balboa.

-Yrs ending with high numbers, 7-9, are pretty solid. These include Over the Top, Copland, Rambo III, and Tango & Cash. Arguably these are great movies but arguably not as dependable as yrs 5-6.

to his list of middle names. About a year ago my brother-in-law went to a San Antonio Spurs game and saw Terry Crews and Eva Longoria hanging out at the stadium bar/restaurant.

My niece and nephew went up to them and asked for an autograph and a picture and stupid bitch Longoria said "I can't right now" and gets on her phone. Well what does Mr. Crews do? He not only signs autographs and poses for pictures, he ALSO TAKES A PICTURE OF MY SIS AND BRO-IN-LAW AND THEIR FAMILY! He tells them to hang on to the pic because it is a "Terry Crew original"! Guy is fucking AWESOME. Hollyweird needs more people like this.

Side note: Bitchy Longoria was just sitting there the whole time not doing SHIT! She was just being a total cunt, which apparently keeps her from taking pics and signing autographs. I hate that she's from South Texas too.

BringSexyBack, THE EXPENDABLES will gross about 100 million domestic and well over 300 million worldwide. Stallone and Schwarzenegger will have a huge mega hit with an original title that isn't ROCKY, RAMBO or TERMINATOR. Regarding TRUE LIES, you are in a very very very small minority with "T3 lame"! TRUE LIES is James Cameron and Arnie doing what BOND was suppose to before GOLDEN EYE. "T3 lame"!!!???? Try one of the GREATEST action spectacles EVER! "You're fired" or "I'm going to kill you pretty soon"...

Randy Couture is NOT a weak link in the movie.
by GibsonUSA Returns
Mar 24th, 2009

Couture/Lesnar's UFC PPV topped 1,000,000 PPV buys, and was the center of attention during its buildup.
Randy Couture represents the present...he represents the UFC era and what appeals to high school and college kids today. The crowd was cheering for him against Lesnar.

A weak link would be to NOT have someone like Lesnar. A weak link would be to strictly keep it to a bunch of action stars from the 80s and 90s...such that it goes beyond the synergy of appeal into redundancy.

That's an issue that I was worried about for this movie from the beginning...
To have Steve Austin AND Hulk Hogan.
To have Randy Couture AND Kimbo Slice.
To have Jet Li AND Jackie Chan.

To overlap, be redundant, repetitive. For one to possibly take away from the other, instead of elevating each other. the casting so far has been AWESOME in its avoidance of this. Sly, Jet, Randy, Jason, Dolph, and Terry all have something to give...and demographics in audiences to draw in.

Maybe I'm missing something here but he has nothing on the awesome level of the cast as it stands...right now it's over 9000.

Seriously though, Ringo Star? He kicked ass in Tombstone. He was in Aliens & Terminator which is cool. But he wasn't that awesome in the Grindhouse fiasco....or anything else that I can think of at the moment.

I'm all for it if we're going for iconic 1908's films but he only has a couple under his belt & Chris Walken still needs a part. That's all I'm sayin...

he was better than kurt in tombstone, only val kilmer was better! he was great in "terminator" "aliens" and "the abyss" (remember that flick?)! in "grindhouse" nearly everyone was bad, medi or just "good"! u cant judge him by a "now" thing, cus really dolph wasnt in anything good since, damn "the punisher or mickey since "the wrestler" and a decade in between...zero! same goes 2 eric roberts, i think he wasnt in anything good since "the pope..." from that point of view michael biehn has more under his belt than those guys. cus the abyss was in the 90`s!:) james cameron...some of you think he is the living god of directing. james nearly wnated him in every movie he was up 2...james already casted him as peter parker way back in 1994! he also was the first choice in titanic, for the part billy zane played. so he cant be that bad or can he? between 80`s-90`s icons i would always prefer michael biehn over christopher walken anytime. if we are talking about actors of the 80´s-90`s in this list, in which walken would fit in! there are a lot of guys way before walken 2 start with: de niro, pacino, nicholson, oldman, penn...! but we are talking about action icons, bad asses, fan faves etc so after these guys played pussy like: jcvd, kurt russell and wesley has problems leaving the country, he tried on scott atkins, so not much are left. michael biehn is a must and bruce willis! after that those are the guys who should be in, mixed up from 80`s til 00´s: vin diesel, bruce campell, christopher lambert, michael madsen, the rock, michael jay white, jensen akles, bill paxton, chuck norris, steven segal, antonio banderas!

Look at how well the CAPS fit in with the Expendables!

Song: http://tinyurl.com/67sveh

SONG LYRICS:
"I've got a funny feelin’ there's something wrrong today
I've got a funny feelin’ and it won't go away

I'VE GOT AN ITCHY FINGER AND THERE'LL BE HELLL TO PAY
I'M GONNA PULL THE TRIGGER AND BLOW THEM ALL AWAY!

DON'T EVER TRY TO TELL ME HOW MUCH YOU CARE FOR ME!
DON'T EVER TRY TO TELL ME HOW YOU WERE THERE FOR ME!

I don't believe there's a reason (I don’t believe it)
I don't believe there's a reason (I don’t believe it)

I've got a wicked demon that somehow never fades
I'VE GOT AN EMPTY FEELING I WONT BE HOME TODAY.

Don't ever try to tell me how much you care for me
Don't ever try to tell me how you were there for me

I don't believe there's a reason (I don’t believe it)-4x

NO ONE IS STOPPING YOU FROM DOING WHAT YOU WANT TO DO.
No one is stopping you now, stopping you now."

Name me one action movie that Statham has been in that was intended to make you laugh out loud? Besides Italian Job, I can't think of one. I liked Transporter 1, but it included a ton of dry humor. Rambo, Rocky and Cliffhanger were not made to make you laugh. That's my point. I have no idea if Expendables will be have comedic elements in it.
