" We haven't seen fantasy comedy period style since MONTY PYTHON & THE HOLY GRAIL, TIME BANDITS and to have one inspired by the already hilarious genre of 80's fantasy... the comedy gold is extremely rich" I know Green had nothing to do with the "Epic Movie" franchise, but even the most respectable filmmakers can churn out crap from time to time. I'm not going to get excited until we have some confirmation that this won't turn out to be "80's Fantasy Movie".
Green is amazing at drama and comedy but..
by DirkD13"
Mar 18th, 2009
06:28:28 PM
his action in Pineapple express was fairly weak (admit it guys, as awesome as that film was it didnt quite kick-ass action wise). If Green wants to do this right then I hope he is let off the leash as the second action film from previously nonaction guys is generally FUCKING AWESOME IX2, Dark Knight etc..).

Been enjoying Eastbound and Down, but can't help feeling the script is not as good as the cast (by a long way).

I can't tell what the hell you're describing, Harry. Krull and Sword and the Sorcerer are in no way similar to Time Bandits or Monty Python and the Holy Grail. So much for drunk reporting. "Unbelievably cool news?!?" No. It would be if you actually had some information instead of a hazy alcohol-drenched memory.

The opening scenes to this weeks East Bound and Down were priceless. When he's recording his "book on tape",the nick names that he will no longer be called , fucking hysterical to me for some reason. "That man is gone,no more People's champion or the reverse apachee master, the man with the golden dick,dr.cock and balls, just Kenny Powers". That shit just cracked me up. Also his fight scene in Hot Rod is the only thing about that movie that made me laugh.

The ultimate goddamned grandaddy of Ultimate Dungeons and Dragons movies!!! Starring a certain dewy-eyed newb of a thespian by the name of Tom Hanks, this thrilling feel good story pandered to the prevailing trends of 1980's Christian Fear-mongering. A polemic written by some nasty, crusty old-school Ann Coulter type jagoff slut back in the day, the script reads like a Jack T. Chick pamphlet, but soared far into the public consciousness as a media event. What makes it sooo good is obviously T. Hanks early performance where he plays a pathetic nerd with a *mental illness* who's fixated upon a certain Live Action Role Playing Game was only his first step to eventual Oscar greatness for his ultimate crowning achievement: Dan Brown's Angel's and Demons. Who could have known that playing a mentally ill (psycho)character would would be the first step to the ultimate Oscar lock? Perhaps we as fans will never realize the brilliant machinations that worked in Tom Hanks mind. Perhaps, he knew the only sure way to achieve Oscar greatness was something most Hollywood actors and agents never realized: The only sure way to achieve Oscar greatness would be a Threefold plan never attempted before in the history of Hollywood: 1)Play a Psycho. (RJ'sM&M) 2)Play a Man of homosexual Persuasion. (Philadelphia) 3)Play a Retard. (Forrest Gump) And the rest, as they say, is History. Bow before the Hanks-He out-Baled Bale before Bale even knew he was Bale!!! (Kidding aside-T.Hanks ruled in SPRyan and Green Mile, etc etc-but hey-even gods must feel the smite) -MLB

I mean shit, his imitation is passable. But he doesn't have my physique or viperlike arms and lats. And trying to make it sound like I have a problem cumming in my pants when I touch a woman is just a low cheap comedy shot when in actual fact Danny McBride has none of my sexual charisma.

by Kenny_Fuckin_Powers
Mar 19th, 2009
01:43:11 AM
I just have to let y'all know that Kenny Fuckin Powers had to endure another screening of The Watchmen because his new date had already seen Taken and I felt like a pedo taking her to that Rock movie. And yet again, taking a date to Watchmen only resulted in a very dry handjob that we couldn't even finish cause I kept seeing Roarschock pour cooking oil on that dude's ass. That shit is righteously unholy, what the fuck happened to awesome movies like Superman IV with Robot Eddie Murphy and shit.

I recall watching it with derision when it aired on TV in '82, as I'd just started playing ad&d in the fifth grade -- in the South, mind you -- and had to bear the bitching of friends' religious nut parents about the "devil-worshipping" game I was enticing their kids to play. Read the book years later in a library, after accidentally stumbling across it. Thanks for fanning that fire, Jaffe.

I haven't seen it since I was a little kid. Rented it about 12 years ago and couldn't get past the opening scene. Saw that it's on OnDemand in my area on one of my movie stations and couldn't get past the opening credits. It's SO PAINFULLY DATED. I mean, it was an 80's one hit wonder away from being a bad music video. WHO THE FUCK THOUGHT THAT WAS A GOOD SCORE?!

Anyways. This could rule. But as much as I'm enjoying this "pot hitting the mainstream in a major way" surge we've had, I won't lie: I would rather someone made a heavy, taken-seriously adult fantasy epic. Hopefully Tales of a Sequel To Sword & The Sorcerer will be it.

..was the dude in Sword and the Sorceror. Kind of a poor man's Tom Selleck. TKL-That's the point of the 1980's-it *was* interesting because it was all you had to look at. Is it an awfully, terribly embarrasing made-for-TV movie? Yes. It's awfullness is exactly why the 80s are history best put behind us all. However, if one were to take about 4 hits of acid and watch it back to back with Nightmare on Elm Street Part the Fourth, one could possibly approximate my rise to adulthood. Hail Satan! -mlb
