damn, i was really looking forward to whitaker in this movie. 50 cent was horrendous in "get rich or die trying", a film made semi-watchable by terrence howard and mr. eko from lost. its a bit disappointing to go from an oscar-winner to a rapper/part-time (shitty) actor. it wont stop me from seeing "the expendables" though, the cast is just to badass to resist.

What the hell is he thinking?? I really think he thinks that he's too good for it and I hope that's not the case. JCVD was fucking awesome, loved it, but this would be a great move for him I think, rather then Bloodsport 2 where he beats his kid or whatever he said in that hilarious interview. (Do BS2 after!)

My first post. wuuuhuuuu.. But anyway, as much as i would love to see Forrest in this. Ok 50's new stuff is all bad, really bad. But knowing about the man, he is very intelligent and very funny. The man was the second most paid black person after Oprah last year. So he must be doing something right. Its just the fake image he's doing to get his music across. So i have faith in SLY!!! The quote that sums up 50 Cent
by Vern
Mar 18th, 2009
07:34:58 PM
"I'm creating a foundation that will be around for a long time, because fame can come and go or get lost in the lifestyle and the splurging. I never got into it for the music. I got into it for the business." (from a Forbes interview)

I got nothing against rappers acting, and it's true that he isn't THAT much worse of an actor than Randy Couture (although he's bad enough that they had to put a baby in his hands on the cover of his movie to create the illusion that his face held some sort of expression). But I'll just say I do not understand the popularity of 50 Cent. He sounds like he's got a mouth full of rocks and whenever he gets interviewed he finds a way to say some stupid bullshit like "I love Bush, he's a gangsta" or like in the interview above where he mentions more than once that he only cares about putting out products that will make money and does not care what it is. I'm sure the people who buy his crappy albums will thank him. Yes, that kind of moronic materialism is common in hip hop but that doesn't excuse it. The guy is stupid.

Too bad to see him in this movie but I think it can survive. I hope Dolph or Jet kicks some enunciation into his head.

You say "I hope Dolph or Jet kicks some enunciation into his head". You perfectly know this won't happen. Remember DMX and Seagal in Exit Wounds? Remember their brief exchange when DMX gets off his car. Steven should have destroyed his ass, but nope, as a rapper, he had an image and couldn't lose face. And this is exactly what is going to happen here with 50 cent. He won't have his ass kicked by anyone, and will play on the same level as Sly or Dolph. He won't get his ass kicked by anyone in this film, and this pisses me off. That a punk like him gets to be alongside this legendary cast, when he's not even worth it.

by Jesiah
Mar 18th, 2009
10:49:46 PM
I first started noticing him when I was a kid when he was some paranormal type dude in Species. I've seen him in plenty of softspoken roles since, heck he even hosted The Twilight Zone utilizing that aspect of himself. So when I saw him in Fast Times at Ridgemont High playing this big burly badass it was kind of a switch for me. But at least he pulled it off. I'm used to David Arquette playing a goofy dumbass, and when I saw him on an old episode of 90210 or some piece of shit like that trying to be a badass in a leather biker jacket I completely didn't buy it. But Whitaker would've been coo' in Expendables. They should get SASHA MITCHELL from Step By Step and the Kickboxer flickes (after Van Damme). I always thought he could've been a bigger star, you know if he hadn't allegedyly kicked his pregnant wife in the head that is.

American action star - Stallone.

English action star - Statham.

Hong Kong action star - Jet Li.

MMA star - Randy Couture

WWF star - Steve Austin

Rap star - 50 Cent

This is covering the basis for cross-demographic appeal. When you think about it, its kind of awesome!
But still no NFL star....

"Stupid" sells. The more outlandish, idiotic, slutty, thuggish, ignorant someone is..the more the fans eat that shit up.

This is true of most modern entertainment mediums, not just Hip Hop...people today like things that don't challenge them and appeal to their base instinct. Hence the shit like Beverly Hill Chihuahua and Transformers making Bank, and fucking Hanna Montana, Pussycat Dolls, Katie Perry and Jonahs brothers being multi-platinum. Face it dude..the retards are in charge.

Bad move

Mar 19th, 2009
03:23:56 AM
Now, I'm actually think 50 may pull off a good performance in the flick but this is still a bad move Sly. I give you the benefit of the doubt but in my opinion, this is a bad move. There are literally a 1000 other actors who would do better in this role, many of them already listed in this talkback. Going from Forrest to 50 is like going from Pacino to Justin Timberlake. Or better yet, the Limp Biscuit dude. Or better yet, going from Pacino to Eminem. Really. And from another angle, it sucks that once again, we have rappers filling in acting roles. Listen, I bleed hip-hop. Real hip-hop. Not the crap that's out in the mainstream today. So I have nothing against rappers acting. But I do have a problem when Hollywood overlooks black actors. Not MCs turned actors. Black actors. Shawn Wayans joke about it in Don't Be A Menace While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood summed it up perfectly. But it's true. Again, I trust Sly. And I wish 50 the best (even though I think he's a total scumbag). But in my opinion, this is a HORRIBLE HORRIBLE move. And another thing, why can't we have more than one black actor in the flick. I'm just saying...

Fuck I'm no fan of Wonky McFatso. But to replace him with the crybaby Curtis Jackson, an egomaniac who needs to start beef with another rapper in order to sell records is fucking lame. Curtis is a sucker. His CD is in Interscope jail right now because bitch can't release a single people like. People are tired of his ass. He fell off. So why give him any fucking chance at being apart of throwback 80's badassery. Fuck Stallone for this. Shit if he was going to cast a rapper, cast Common. Or replace Wonky with Michael Jai White, or Boris Kodjoe, or any other black ACTOR who will put African American butts into those seats. Curtis? 03:47:13 AM
I'm a dude who grew up in the South Bronx in the 80's and listen to Rap/Hip Hop daily. Not that my opinion matters, but I see people getting attacked about for "not knowing about rap". 50 Cent's musical career was over when Kanye destroyed him in 1st week sales when they went head to head. After that Curtis has been struggling to remain relevant. And his "beef" with rappers like Rick Ross is laughable. The dude is so fucking desperate. Again Stallone, why even cast him? It can't be a studio decision because if any studio head knew anything, they'd know the kiddies ain't checking for Curtis anymore. They've moved on. Recast the crybaby before it's too late with a better fucking actor or a less polarizing rapper with real acting skills. Fuck I'd even settle to hear LL Cool J replacing him. He's a throwback from the 80's that's still in incredible shape. It fits the film.

The director makes the actor?
by hamslime
Mar 19th, 2009
04:25:11 AM
I agree with that. Anyone can be a good actor if the director has the patience and talent to get that out of them. Tarantino is a great example of that and if 50 Cent has the ambition to work hard and make it happen and more importantly Stallone believes in him then the best of luck. But I stand by original statement...MARIO. VAN. PEEBLES. He doesn't have to have to have Forrest's part, but he should at least be the key-grip, soldier #2, caterer or something. Just put that guy in there. I also second, third, fourth, to infinity any suggestion of Dudikoff. That guy has untapped potential that could land him an Oscar if given the right part.

I know it may sound out of place to bring this up in about an action movie, but just because it isn't an indie movie about gays, politics, or homelessness doesn't mean there's not passion behind it. I just hope that Stallone has the balls to give Mr. Cent the boot if he's not willing to prove himself. ...Oh! And cast Mario Van Peebles.

As conspiracy said, the retards are in charge ...they are not merely in the building, they own the building ....but we gave it to them. 50p could get up there and put on a command performance but its not about that ....its about who he is, what he is and what he represents. Once the movie wraps he'll be back in his crib harping on about pimpin ho's, smackin bitches and capin fools while admiring his many pairs of bling encrusted dream-come-true sneakers. i dont think that whitaker left the cast.i believe that the movie's producer persuaded mr sly,to get a well-known rapper in his cast in order to widen the movies target group.

thats holywoods practice for the last decade at least.u get a well-known rapper in an action movie, his name works as a PR factor for the movie,in order to make it know to his fandom and on the other, the movie acts as a PR factor for the rapper,so that the rest of the audience who goes for the action, will learn about this rapper.

so its a deal that works well for both sides.

ofcourse that doesnt mean that the movies quality wont suffer from this.especially when the rapper cant act his shit.

its obvious that its all about a publicity stunt by stalonnes part.otherwise,as everyone else mentioned, there are hundres of good black actors who can fill this black character in the movie,so why stick to someone who doesnt act as an actor but rather as a diva.

i understand that sly and the studio need to make this movie well known and make money of it,they are not making art ,they just entertain, but jesus christ why the fuck should cast 50cents???

I'm confused here....

I cannot for the life of me understand the negativity shown with any casting decision regarding this film. With all the positivity shown across the board at the earliest stages of dripfed info, The names Statham & Li were enough for people like myself to think Sly had made a very wise & interseting move going into his next motion picture (one I wasn't even sure we'd get from him) and the subsequent additions of Dolph(some of you guys jumped through the roof at this announcement) & then Rourke & Roberts & so on....the point is, he had most of us at the point of signing on to do another action movie....especially with the Stath & Li involved, it made for an interesting film. Some great names have come & gone but really, we were onboard from the get go & should take time out to reflect on that & wish him well with whatever decisions he sees fit in turning this potentially awesome movie into a reality.

Sly needs to create, in the short amount of time before production, ten new characters so every last 80's action icon can come aboard. It's a carbuncle on Sly's body. Cut that Filthy Cent off now, before its head has fully formed and filled with pus that will infect the rest of the project.

I barely know who he is, but even I don't need to read the comments revealing that he is worthless, moronic, illiterate criminal scum. It's enough to know that he's a damn "gangsta rapper"; that spells out all of the above things, and worse. I do hope a) that it wasn't Sly's decision; b) that it can be reversed; c) that if it can't, Sly will be able to marginalize the presence of this crapper and give him a fifty second "role".

Are nerdy white hypersensitive internet fanboi's. They feel rejected on alot of levels because they weren't accepted when they were trying to be cool, by listening to rap music, wearing baggy clothes, while trying to talk and act black. Once they were ridiculed for being a wangsta, this is how they react when they're reminded of their social failures. So fear not Sly, the average inner city movie goer is going apeshit over this casting. It's only cold blooded suburban rejects who're pissed. And as you can see, this demographic is already sold on the concept. So who cares what they think. That's why you shouuld of cast more then one Black actor you fucking guinea.

It would have been nice to see Forrest in the film but crap happens. Truth be told- every single movie made is a happy accident (even the bad ones) But the "classics" that we love (like the Rocky and Rambo films) all fall under the same catagory--absolute luck. Once the script is written, EVERYBODY has an opinion and depending on how much power they have, their opinion has weight that has to be considered, weighed, and taken in and then the script is rewritten and it starts all over again. Then there are actors who are chosen and they may want a few script tweaks or (more importantly)they may want to know what other actors (who they may or may not like personally) are involved or being considered when they are thinking of taking the role or not. All actors want the work and they all want those incredible paychecks but sometimes the film experience (for two, three or even four months) isn't worth it if you have to work side by side with someone you can't stand. (which I should think is rare, but it is still a part of the process that may or may not affect the final product) After the script is completed, we're talking multiple fingerprints on the work and multiple opinions and timelines that clash and then the three month shoot (with minimum safety issues) and then the all important trailer, which also is a huge factor in "selling" the product and then finally, the fans themselves who decide wether or not to plunk down their 9 bucks (instead of the easier more convenient method of getting the film off the streets for 5 bucks) Then they themselves pass the word to their friends if they liked the film or not for that all important second weekend that gives the film"legs" After all of that-- the film moves into it's rightful place in movie history for better or worse. Then of course, depending on the bottom line, we might get lucky and Sly will be offered a chance at "Expendables II" In which case, the script will be written and it starts all over again. And maybe next time, luck will help us out and Forrest might return. Either way-- thanks Sly for the effort and patience you've put up with so far (in this process you know so well) I for one am looking forward to this.

Somebody who's not whining and actually knows what he's talking about: in Hollywood, you never know what's going to work out and what's not. My favorite recent what-if story is regarding Superman. When Brett Ratner was going to do Superman, he offered Josh Hartnett an absurd amount of money. Hartnett turned the role down --> which led to Ratner leaving the project --> which led to Singer taking it --> which led to Ratner taking X-Men 3. Fanboys would've whined about Hartnett playing Superman at the time, but then X-Men 3 might've actually been good. Point is, you never know where the chips are going to fall and what actions will pay off down the road.
And for the record, Common wouldve been smarter

Dumb ass Fiddy is gonna be "The" only Black guy in an otherwise mostly Caucasian 80's style Action film...

Meaning he'll be killed off pretty damned quick...but in epic bad ass'ed style. I bet he won't have 5 lines this whole film...he'll just stand there looking...well...angry, troubled and "Black".

I can see the death scene now.... he catches an RPG mid-air as it is flying towards a bus full of recently rescued young teen asian sex slaves, que flashback to college football game where he drops what would have been the game winning catch..revealing the source of his self doubt and anger, and shouts "Not this time Motherfucker"; and making the catch takes the blast as he spikes it, hence saving said girls.

Dumbest shit I have read today. You obviously don't know the deal. The average inner city movie goer is over 50 Cent's bullshit. Hence the reason why his album has been pushed back more than Jaime Foxx's real hairline.

Go to any barber shop in NYC and you will find out that homeboy is DONE.

50's time in the spotlight has past already. And he fucked it up by beefing with EVERYBODY while he was on top.

Then he got put on blast for claiming to be a real street dude, but some of his songs called out real life Queens NY drug dealers and put their business out there. That's why the whole "Stop Snitching" campaign hit NYC with a lot of hardcore rap fans wearing the T Shirts with that slogan.

People got sick of his "Pop Shit when my CD is coming out" routine. And it's hard to rap about killing and dealing drugs and being a REAL gangster when you live in Tyson's old extravagant mansion and have a huge entourage of body guards 24/7. That's why he's done. He originally thrived on authenticity, now he lacks it. People now found out he was only shot 3 times. And now claim it was only because he was snitching.

He allegedly got his ass kicked by Ja Rule in a recording studio back in the day when he was fat and wasn't all roided up like he is today.

The dude is garbage now. And that's why his fucking CD won't see the light of day anytime soon because Interscope deaded it in favor of letting Eminem come back first.

This is the dumbest casting decision. Of all the rappers (Common, LL Cool J) they go with the idiot who can't act and is polarizing. If this was a studio decision, I'm glad they don't know the real popular rapper of the moment is Lil' Wayne. Because that would have been waaaaaaay worse. But damn Stallone, cast a real fucking African American actor, or a rapper with real skills and a fanbase. 50 is washed up and done.

Bad Actors vs Bad Directors
by NoahTall
Mar 19th, 2009
09:56:06 AM
I believe that the directors control 90 percent of the acting capability of the cast. They are the ones who tell an actor how to react and they are also the ones who decide if a take during a particular scene is good enough.

Look at Segal. In a couple of his movies it actually appears that he can act. Others it seems he has a fifth grade comprehension level and is reading off cue cards.

And look at Mark Wahlberg, Zooey Deschanel and John Leguizamo. All of them have turned in great performances in the past. However when I was watching The Crappening by M. Night Shyamalan they all seemed about as talented as the actors from the various Sci-Fi channel movies of the week. In other words not at all.

So half a dollar's performance will live or die by Mr. Stallone's ability.

Hate Rap for the sake of it. That's not me. Many rappers have crossed over and become good actors. From the old school like Will Smith, Ice T, Queen Latifah, and LL Cool J. To the new guys like Mos Def, Common, Nelly, Xzibit. Rappers aren't all bad actors and don't always ruin films. It's only when you cast the fucktard rappers that you encounter problems.

The thing is though the people at AICN haven't asked the important questions when they have spoekn to Sly like... Did he offer roles to those 80's actions stars and did they turn him down?

Forrest is a great actor and would have made us all proud with his tough performance...so Stallone obviously knows 50 CENT ani't no Forrest (hell, Curtis Jackson knows he ain't no Forrest), and thats not ragging on the rapper either. Stallone will no doubt re-write the part to fit 50 CENT. Maybe and hopefully give him only a few lines here and there...lines that count so he doesn't make the character retarded and hated on. Maybe make him like Mac in PREDATOR with only a few lines but looking tough as nails. What I obviously want most is for SCHWARZENEGGER to have an iconic character in this if it's only a cameo!

I like GibsonUSA's point about how they got an MMA guy, a wrestler, etc. so they should have one rapper. But I agree with Profit that there are many rappers that would've been better. In fact, if Hale Caesar is the same character as in the draft I read then LL or Ice-T would make more sense because he's an old veteran mercenary who has put his money into opening a Mexican restaraunt. Just because 50 Cent's career as a rapper is washed up doesn't mean he's old enough to play a character like that.

Also Profit makes a good point that they coulda got Li'l Wayne and then it really would've been a problem. So in retrospect 50 Cent isn't that bad of a choice. I just don't like the guy but oh well, still gonna see the movie.

Also I'm glad we got that character list because it clears up some confusion. Whitaker had been reported as "a devious CIA agent" in Variety or something so I always thought he was playing a completely different character than he was.

Also, I want to point out that all these people we keep saying should be in there (my choices: Michael Jai White, Mario Van Peebles, Jesse Ventura, Brian Bosworth) could be in a sequel.

I don't like 50 cent more than any of you; he's just not a very charming human being, esspecially given the current state of the world and the economy. He's more part of the problem than the solutiuon, and seeing him getting a job in this great project is not something to uplift the spirits. However, having said that, he will appeal to a certain demographic and this film is in the process of winning appeal across a broad spectrum (of males anyway). So if he helps Sly knock this one out of the park, so be it.

you know, the completely over the top yet disturbingly realistic action and violence. Of course in order for that to happen the film would have to NOT be pg-13.

I think I'll wait until I see the first trailer to decide whether or not I'm going to see this.

But Sly, come on man, at least recognize that casting 50 "Hey I apparently made one good video game" Cent is a drastic step down in quality and ability from Forrest Whitaker.

For whatever reason the decision was truly made it still, nonetheless, is a bad decision.

well before First Blood he had done films such as Marooned ( a pretty po faced space rescue movie), Wait Until Dark ( a first rate thriller with him as a villain), Star ( a biopic),The Sand Pebbles (about US Sailors in a Chinese uprising, I think, anyway pretty downer ending) so while he may well have done some comedies I think that it is a bit of a stretch and some vanity from Stallone to try and claim that casting Crenna in First Blood turned him into a more serious actor or one who from then on got roles in films other than comedies. Come on Stallone, you're not responsible for every decent actor in the world becoming who they are, you're just responsible for ruining Judge Dredd.

I started this website (http://www.missinginacting.co m) about 3 years ago, I stopped updating it because it was stressing me out. I just get really upset when I see a mediocre rapper(i.e., Common on Terminator, WillIAm XMEN, Rihanna Charlie's Angels 3, Beyonce) in a film when their a hundreds of out of work quality actors. What do we have to do? how do we get to the casting agents ? When there is ONE Role for a black actor and they decide to cast a Rapper, makes me think that this is why their a very few Black Actors nominated for awards. The quiet conspiracy.

...it's not about being negative. It's about this guy having no acting talent much less ability. I saw about 5 minutes of that piece of shit auto-biographical indulgence self-love masturbatory fest "Get Rich or Die Trying" and it was absurdly bad (and he was playing himself! Eminem fared much better playing himself, hell so did Mike Tyson!). I hate the new hip-hop gansta rap 'I got guns, cash, and hoes!!" bullshit but the guy's got talent there presumeably BUT it doesn't at all bleed over into other art forms just because they all sit under the "art" heading. Some musicians transcend them and most don't. Ever hear from Bon Jovi and his acting talent?

Will Smith and Mos Def are flukes of multi-media talent but 50 cent isn't. Not yet anyway.

Not to mention replacing an Oscar wining actor with a fucking rapper has ass written all over it no matter how you slice it. What about Chiwetel Ejiofor?? The guy's awesome in EVERYTHING!

I was not a believer in talent like Smith's and Mos Def's until I saw them doing great work (Smith was even better than the movie he was in at the time!) and Def is great in everything I've seen him in but this Curtis guy is not an actor and looks to be so self-aware on camera that he can only be himself in a movie (much like Eminem, Courtney Love, etc). Time will tell I suppose and I'd love to be wrong on this...but let me be so pretentious as to say that if Brando demoniacally possessed 50cent, it would still be ass compared to Whitaker on his absolute worst days...(Last King of Scotland was amazing solely due to his performance).

New rewritten version, adapted for the new "star" Half Dollar:

Stallone's "Rambo" gave us the best action of any movie last year. Stallone knows how to build tension, design shots, and tell a story- even if some of the dialogue was a little flat. I hope for his sake that "The Expendables" lives up to the hype. I'd love to see him direct a movie like "Conan".

a dollar would have been denzel washington or at least wesley snipes...who does have problems with court stuff, so he cant be in! we need another dollar sly a dollar like bruce willis, no more wrestlers and rappers! i think fitty might be great guy 2 hang out with, if hes not on drugs, but he cant act his way out of a nutsack and it really doesnt matter if sly would be the greatest director on the planet. i`m a fan of sly since 1982 and he is my idol for many reasons but he did many mistakes in the last 25 years. 1. "stop or my mama will shot u"!:) 2.never did a "tango & cash" part 2 3.never should have made "rocky 5" 4.didnt made a movie with arnie in his prime! 5.never should have married brigitte!:) 6.never should have made "driven"! ...and now fitty!:) like i`ve written i do not have a problem with fitty...ok he cant act...not even himself but this movie aint no "hamlet" right?! but i do have a problem with this, u cant replace a oscar guy with a rapper and if so...u should get will smith right now and really fast!

Just proves adrenaline is still very much in the children of the late 70's early 80's. What great role models we had back then; bad asses who didn't give a fuck about hurting anyone's feelings.

He-Man and GI Joe in the morning, Chuck Norris and Bruce Lee on the afternoon movie, to R rated Die Hards, Predators, Robocops, Rockys, Rambos, and Terminators, testosterone was everywhere.

But, we also had free scrambled porn, which inadvertently shrunk our attention spans and altered our perceptions of female sexuality to the point where we could ejaculating over green, wiggly boobs.

DENZEL WASHINGTON OR MEL GIBSON WOULD BE A DREAM COME TRUE! some other names like: cliwe owen, bennicio del toro, eric bana, hugh jackman! so thats it for today sly...until now you pleased us nearly every week, with great names like: rourke, statham, li, lundgren, arnie etc and we know u tried on stupid jean claude van damme and wesley snipes but please one fitty is enough. please not another 50 cent cast anymore! AND SLY THIS MOVIE MUST BE AT LEAST 120 MINUTES LONG! only weak point about rambo it was 2 short. & no freakin wire action like matrix fights and no bourne shit cuts and it must be a rated r movie and ur fans will march singing into the cinemas!:)

I'm no Stallone or 50 cent fanboy, and am not trying to defend Stallones casting decision in any way (he can do that well enough himself) but all of you crying about 50 joining the cast have to look at the bigger picture. At best this movie will be some awesome popcorn comic book fun. I think someone like 50 cent, not necessarily a good actor, will be good in a movie like this. Lets face it, when have actors like Li or Statham ever really required to do worthy oscar winning performances? This movie will be good wholesome fun with lots of action and killing in it, and someone like 50 will be fun to have in the movie.

Like during the movie, show a bunch of extras in the background and in the distance.

Then, after the movie is all over and during the credits, "reveal" these characters to be MORE stars!! using alternate camera perspectives from movie events!!

For example, during the movie we see a character in the background sitting under a tree. Then after the movie is all over, during the credits he turns around and its RODDY PIPER or something!!
And have like 5 or 6 of those! Thatd be AWESOME!!

I am opposed to outtakes for an action movie. Imagine watching Rambo, then during the credits there are outtakes of Sly in his Rambo outfit laughing with the cameraman. That takes us out of it.

Again I would prefer credits used for Cameo-Mania.

Extras that we barely see during the course of the movie suddenly get closeups and are revealed to be big stars!
We see a guy playing basketball in the distance. Then, during the credits, it zooms to the bball court and its actually THE ROCK playing or something! Thats unstoppable.

He was the black dude who got embarassed by the American Ninja Joe Armstrong kickin his ass in front of all their army buddies while Joe wore a bucket on his head and then became his bossom buddy for the rest of the flick. He unfortunately passed away from cancer or some other dreaded disease; I think he would've been perfect for Whitaker's role if not just to be in the movie

Too lazy to scroll up, but the Carl Weathers suggestion fucking blew my mind. Can't believe I didn't think of that sooner.

As much as I laugh at anyone who wants me to pay money to listen to them "rap" about how much richer they are than me, I still can't see him fitting in here.

Sly, I'm a lifelong fan. And can I really see this being an awesome film. With all of the actors from different backgrounds, maybe it's an attempt to pull in fans of said actors. But come on boss...Carl Weathers fits the role perfectly.

Give the brother a fucking break! His only crimes were being black and screwing white women. The Man set the brother up with the not paying taxes shit, and now he is locked away in a federal prison. Stallone should hire Snipes and film his scenes at the prison. Or, you could get another black actor (not 50 cents) to do all of the work in the film, and then digitally put Wesley's face on him. This isn't like Bond, Batman, or Ethan Hunt- where no one goes in expecting a great deal of explicit violence. This is a movie aimed largely at the same male demographic as Rambo. It's going to be heavily dependent on them as well, since this isn't a cast that will excite mainstream audiences. Mickey Rourke, Eric Roberts, Dolph Lundgren, Jet Li, Danny Trejo...these are actors that excite fanboys, but are nowhere close to being household names.

PLUS U NEED THIS ALSO...if everything is done right and if sly makes a rough, hard, a no mercy, no bourne, or wire *beep* action flick (with some drama, at some points), like he already did with rambo 4, it will go beyond 150 mil. in the us and on foreign nearly the same.if norris, eastwood and willis could be won for cameos and if kurt russell jumps in also, it will make even more cash with those names included 2 the cast, only then it could sink the titanic again! reason 1: sly already did over 100 mil on his own (with rambo 4)with no famous co stars and it was rated R! reason 2: every fan of the 80`s & 90`s are waiting for someting like this since years, a bunch of our heros put together and they raise hell. like what quentin promised for years and now comes up with a wimpy cast like: mike myers, eli roth! and german no actors like til schweiger & daniel brühl, screw tarantino for all his lies, sly is the man! reason 3: it will be a great mouth 2 mouth thing and every man on the planet, who has a thing for action/war movies & with balls in their pants, is going 2 die 2 see a flick with 3 generations of action heros and on this night, when the movie comes out a lot of ladies will be home alone!:) reason 4: this movie will do great at rental, dvd & blue ray sales...like rambo 4 alone made some record sales, when it was released on blue ray. my guess is this movie will bring every movie fan 2 buy this thing, of any generation, cus it has 80`s, 90`s and 00`s heros. i think this movie will do at least 400 mil. on rentals and sales, plus 600 at the box office world wide, so we have a good billion $ movie! so let it be rated R, no compromising here, its a bad ass movie for every movie geek and action fan PLUS THIS MOVIE NEEDS 2 BE AT LEAST 120 MINUTES...the more the better! the only weak point about rambo 4 it was way 2 short! no fancy wire fights shit, dirty hard and brutal fights. no bourne cutting *beep* a bit of drama like in rambo 4 and a great, great score theme like rambo please. so sly, if u ever should read this, try all in ur powers 2 get WILLIS, NORRIS, EASTWOOD and DENZEL for cameos one day shoots could work, even if they are busy. try 2 get KURT RUSSELL, if this aint working get MICHAEL BIEHN or CHRISTOPHER LAMBERT. this movie needs a real cool black actor...sadly WESLeY could not be in, so get MICHAEL JAY WHITE, or will smith, the really best thing would be if DENZEL would join, maybe its a challenge for him, he never did a full, cool action movie like this!man on fire...was a man on a mission action film! it would be really wise if this movie could add a younger hunk, someone for the ladies, so they would have a reason 2 go in a flick like this...of course i name JOHNNY DEPP cus i like him, but i guess he would never make a movie like that, but we never know, someone has 2 ask, maybe he likes the idea of being full macho for a while?! if that aint working get TV IN/HUNK GUYS like JENSEN ACKLES, WENTWORTH MILLER, JOSH HALLOWAY, they would make some extra female cash!!! if u wanna do great in india/asia & germany (ok i personally hate this idea, cus i dont like this sucker) get Shahrukh Khan, it will bring really extra female cash...but of course u should shut the fukker up, never let him sing and dance and kill him right away in the movie!;) this movie needs a good female choice, girls who look great or get along tough guys good like: KATE BECKINGSALE, JULIANNE MOORE, HALLE BERRY, ANGELINA JOLIE, MILLA JOVOVICH, DIANE LANE, RHONA MITRA, NATASCHA HENSTRIDGE, julie benz ... try 2 get more budget...it should be a 100-120 mil. movie it will in any way make at least 600 mil. but if everything is done right much more! PLUS I WANT SLY WITH A BEARD HE LOOKS GREAT WITH A BEARD LIKE IN GET CARTER OR ROCKY 4!!! PLUS: GIVE SLY A SHOWDOWN FIGHT, at least 3-5 minutes...BUT PLEASE NOT WITH GARZA , someone tough and cool please!!!!!!! this movie will make history in anyway...the hysteria allready won every movie fan on the planet by storm... IN SLY WE TRUST...make it big, make it hard, make it dirty, cus ur the master sly!!! but no more fitty like castings please!

he was the best part of this shit fest, but tarantino fucked him up in the end, by beating the shit out of him from 3 stupid girls i couldnt care less. worsed ending of a movie i`ve ever seen 2!!! stuntmen mike was a beyond cool character (only because of kurt) and then he made him a cry baby wimp, who gets beaten by chicks...no point at all about the ending!
I thought it was pretty funny, actually.

Like no one had EVER had a chance to fuck with him back, so when it happened it totally took him off guard. I think that was the point, but I'm not QT. I love when he "drops" his keys, and he's all "Where are my keys oh there they are." I know QT said, "Do it like Jack Burton.", cause it sounds just like when him and Wang bluff their way into the Wing Kong Exchange in BTinLC.

Thanks for the info with Snipes etc...Forgot that TAKEN was PG-13. I still say if CASINO ROYAL & MISSION:IMPOSSIBLE 3 can pull off hard ass action and still be violent, then Sly will push the bar with THE EXPENDABLES. Hell, he pushed the bar with RAMBO and got an R. Lets all judge the film when it comes out.

present? or in the near future, for that matter? both he and JCVD need to wake their respective asses up and get on board. after that dreck Death Proof, Russell should be happy to do a cameo on Entourage. and as for JCVD... yeah, let me know how Bloodsport 2: I'll Give You Something to Cry About works out for you. goddamned tool.

i think it was all about showing this guy is all weak without a car...whatever the point might be...u cant create a beyond cool guy and then fukk him up that way. if u in anyway r a movie fan, someone who knows about movies u just cant make "snake" a pantsy that way! & if u do wanna piss on what u`ve created (stuntman mike) than hell let him kick the shit out of him by miachael parks. that would have come with 1% more pride than these chicks, everybody hated! by the way i have some age and life behind by now, but i never have seen or heared of girls like they were created in death proof...full of men talk blabla about cars, movies, parties etc show me one lady who knows about steve mcqueen, cars, movies that way and i`ll tell its not true! this was beyond bullshit!

Where have all real stars gone
And where are all the godss?
Where’re the dudes from the 80s
To fight these rising oddss?

Movies have been pussified, that you must concede
In the theater we toss and turn and dream of what we need

WE NEED TO BE STALL'OWNED!
We're holding out for the badasses he's gonna invite
They're gonna be strong
And they're gonna be fast
And they're gonna be ready to fight

WE'RE GONNA BE STALL'OWNED!
Even with 50 Cent we know it's gonna be tight
As long as he's sure
And as long as its soon
And as long as its larger than life!

by muri71
Mar 21st, 2009

this movie needs only one great rock song/anthem! made by survivor (please a reunion with jim) or a guns n roses in original line up, mötley crüe maybe or bon jovi ( a more about "its my life" kind of thing) one band, one song and the rest score! please not a over all soundtrack with a dozen bands who shit up the movie with a dozen tracks that kills the mood of the movie! NO HIP HOP ESP: NOT 50 CENT!!!!!!

well u nailed it with talia for all the rocky movies, thats 4 sure and mr. t for rocky 3 and dolph for rocky 4, thats true! but we all know it, in the hearts of the fans... rocky 1-2 and rocky balboa are the movies that captured the legacy of rocky! rocky 3 and 4 were great sport action movies of their time and as a kid i loved them the most, as i grew up rocky 1-2 were/are the real things! thats art, thats drama, its inspiration and rocky balboa carried the legacy 2 a good ending! BUT SLY U DIDNT MENTIONED Antonio Tarver/mason dixon...in my opinion the only weak part about rocky balboa! he was a unbelievable "best champ of all times"! carl/apollo creed in his prime had the best technique and body of all the guys u fight againgst. so it was a little bit lame...as they mentioned in rocky balboa, that mason "the line" dixon" is the best boxer of all time, stuff like that. well his body was more about average, his boxing looked slow, without a punch...anything, he was really a miscast sly!man even tommy morrison looked tougher and he was a miscast as well! rocky 5 should have never been made in the first place! about richard crenna (rip man)...but i would have prefered kirk douglas over him anytime! half of any rambo movie richard was in, i couldnt take him seriously! he had something not so serious about his role attitude, nearly half of the time! it was always for me unbelievable that this character trutman played by riachrd made rambo 2 this killing machine...cus he was never bad ass enough 2 made rambo 2 what he`d become. kirk could have pulled that of, he could have been bad ass, but thats my opinion! about eric roberts...well so underrated...and vanished 2 dvd hell for a decade or 2 BUT NO i take eric before ben anytime and i dont freaking care if ben won a thousand oscars. cus ben only plays ben in a jewish or world conqueror way and in uwe boll hell, he was one of the worsed actors i`ve seen! a lot of the guys most forgot eric was an oscar nominated actor once and has more talent in his little finger than his bloody sister julia in her whole being!

just a freaking fantasy!:) imagine sly, jason and jet li survive, they`ve killed garza and all his men and they are on their way back home through the jungle joke about the job. spaceship lands in the jungle...a predator is coming out, the end!:) well this would be fan thing for predator lovers and we could add some dutch schäfer in it!:)) but i`m more with that thing that sly creates another franchise with the expandables and in the sequel he brings guys who he couldnt get for this movie!
what do u think, who should make a song for OST??
by muri71
Mar 21st, 2009
07:30:27 AM
like i`ve written one song, one band, nothing more...the rest should be score! a dream would be ennio morricone of course! my bands/artists: ennio morricone= score, survivor, guns and roses, mötley crüe, bon jovi (only a killer "its my life" kind of stuff), bruce springsteen (only a rock song, no ballad! metallica ( no wimpy ballad), if rap...oh dear i hope not?! only EMINEM if its more like "fight music" or "lose urself" the beats are killers!

It has to do with the fact that I dislike the image and behavior of the guy on every level. His music is horrible, the image he sells is horrible, his game is horrible, and I will never support anything that guy has a part in.

Sorry, Sly. I love what you've been doing the last few years, but I won't be seeing this one if that guy is in it.

Reason why 50 cent wont work is...
by sho_me_da_money
Mar 22nd, 2009
04:09:01 AM
Because he is a risk that could go right or wrong. Based on the roles he has played, he hasn't done enough for me to involve him with a cast of this magnitude. The same can be said about Randy Couture but Randy as a real life fighter in an all out action flick is believable. 50 Cent as a Rapper with muscles in this movie doesn't make sense. If it was really about 50's acting ability, then would he have been cast if he was as skinny as Jet Li? I'm gonna bet NO. So if Stallone wants a mean machine actor with muscles, then there are much better actors to choose from. Some that have already been named above. The bottom line with Mr. Jackson is that we know he is a risk BUT is it a risk worth taking? Im gonna say No to that.
