...for way too long. The best part was meeting a ton of cool people and getting a ton of cool swag. The magazine and book sections were killer resources too, long before you had easy access to that kind of shit with the internet and whatnot. The worst part was working the holiday season in a store where the manager made you play happy b-day baby jesus music all fucking day long.
The Focus on Colin Hanks ruined Buck Howard

He's not a bad actor by any means, but his character is boring in the film focuses more energy on his boring storyline than Buck Howard's which is far more interesting. So what could have been a funny and kind of sweet vehicle for showcasing Malkovich's unique comedic talent turns into a mediocre and kind of sweet vehicle for showcasing Colin Hanks lack of a movie star charisma.

Its really sad all of the record stores are disappearing. The record store culture was always great where you could hang out, hear new music, and speak to the employees and other customers about good music recommendations. I must say, when the Tower chain was closing, I went to just about every Tower Records in Southern California and must have bought like 30 CDs. The Tower Records by my work in Torrance was replaced with a large FYE. FYE bought all of Towers shelves and fixtures so there is some nostalgia when I go there. Still, times are a changin' and it sucks.

I thought this interview was going to be about the great CLINT Howard. How disappointing.

For those of you who don't know what a record is...

It's like a cd, only much bigger, usually black. It has grooves on it in which you place a needle attached to a "record player" and when you turn it on "music" can be heard. It's kind of like an ancient ipod without all that portability nonsense and without the fear of losing your collection to the ether.

Unless there was a fire. Fire erases everything.

A Tower Records documentary sounds cool

but a Tower Records bipoic by Milos Forman sounds even better. I think it's hard for a lot of young folks to wrap their internet addled brains around the concept of a music store being such a gigantic presence in so many peoples lives.

It's sad.

Didn't Peter O'Toole and Mark Linn-Smith do this back in the '80s?
