If anyone wants to check this out, the 2007 episode "World Enough and Time", starring the original Sulu, is definitely their most impressive effort yet. Here's looking forward to what Cawley does with Buck Rogers!

...the episode with Sulu was. The CGI effect were tops (except the final texture layers were missing but need big money to get that quality). Acting was pretty damn good at least played with earnest and passion. And the storyline was pure vintage Star Trek. I look forward to see what they do with old Buck and Twigi.
yeah thats the one, DesignDude !

Two Words: Professional Actors

The main thing that took me out of the PHASE II episode that I saw was the uneveness of the acting. Clear this up and I'll be much more forgiving.

Especially when you have the original cast guest starring. The gap in acting ability was painful to see. And the original cast, let's face it, are not stellar actors, which really says something about that. Even without that comparison "Phase II" is laughable. I love the "love scenes" in the new David Gerrold one--not only do you have the baggage of bad actors, you have the added weight of "bad actors who think what they're doing is of tremendous social importance." A combination that is unintentionally hilarious.
This is how you do Star Trek

I would think THE SPIRIT's shitacular boxoffice numbers would give FRANK MILLER'S BUCK ROGERS a quick mercy killshot.

I thought about doing an animated series about Kirk and the gang's life at Star Fleet Academy. I have ideas for scripts all ready to go, but I'm way too lazy to do all that work.
or even better "Firefly", but that "Firely" show is pretty good

But damn..I blew an incredible amount of spunk to the visual of Erin Grey in all her spandex'd glory. One of the hottest women of the late 70's early 80's. That said...this will indeed...Suck the Fail.

Bad acting and all. At this point, Frank Miller still needs to be partnered with a capable director on his projects.

Met Cawley at a convention once - decent karaoke singer, which is kind of what the web shows are, affectionate karaoke versions of the real thing. Then again, great karaoke can still knock you on your ass, which some of the Phase 2/New Voyages stuff does, especially with some of the cameos that crop up (when's the Shat gonna put the cat among the pigeons and do one?) As for Buck - not so sure, old franchise character that's about as relevant this century as Flash Gordon and Tarzan. And Frank Miller should styick to adapting his own stuff, he has such a unique visual style (well, he uses the same visual style for everything post-Sin City) that his vision dominates the piece. Will Eisner wouldnt have made a Spirit film in the same maner, that's for sure, and that's not meant as a knock on either Miller or Eisner, just that their respective visions were so strong.

SOUNDS LIKE UTTER CRAP, BUCK

----

Before anyone goes apenuts(tm) over the idea that this is going to be considered 'canon' with blessings from the rights holders, these are the same rights holders who gave a thumbs up to the world government being made out of talking electronic hub caps, a robot side-kick shaped like a penis, and a Native American medicine man with feathers for hair.

This property has been shopped and reshopped to anyone willing to offer fifty bucks and a chick-fil-a coupon.
