I'm friends with the girl that plays Lila's sister, and I believe that it was picked up for season five. I make no promises though.

I meant season 4. I believe they're shooting right now, in fact.

WTF?The whole season, an excellent season once again, goes by, without a single tb, and NOW we get one? NOW you take time to toss some love on the show, without even knowing if it will come back next year? Agh!
Is This Anything Like The Wire?

I'm always interested in Netflix-ing shows to watch, and I've heard a few good things about this one.
Glad to see some brotherhood love

Since the Wire is over I've fell in love with this show. Amazing actors, great characters. It would really suck if this didn't get renewed. Decko and his hot wife, Colin and the Caffey brothers all amazing. The seasons always start slow but end with a bang.
The show is too good to not renew

Come on, seriously? This is one of the best shows on TV that nobody watches--and obviously that's the problem. It's Sopranos-lite, sure, but it's damn good and deserves better than it has gotten.

Yes and No

Nowhere near as good as The Wire (but what is?). That said, it doesn't try to be The Wire. You won't feel like it is an imitation. Much more derivative of Sopranos, in terms of subject matter.

It really stands on its own. Although I never felt like it got enough speed up to fly.

EvilWizardGlick is correct, it touches on many subjects and does them very well. Not a Top 10 show, but a solid Top 20. Well worth Netflixing.

FucK! I missed it!!!

I've gotta check it out on the internet then. Man I love this show. It's so underrated.

yet that show is Showtime's huge moneymaker and gets renewals fast, while this show barely gets any viewers. Sad, another Wire fiasco.
No, not better than Dexter

It's good, but it's not that good. Dexter is fucking brilliant and anyone who says otherwise just isn't watching. Michael C. Hall is so good. My 2nd favorite show next to Lost. Really, though, Brotherhood is definitely an Irish Sopranos, but doesn't have something that The Sopranos had. Can't quite put my finger on it.
better than Dexter?

it's a much better show, but i would say dexter is more entertaining. there's more holy shit moments and action and all that on dexter, but brotherhood in the end is a more satisfying experience. (for me) it's a show i can stew with and challenges me while i watch it. dexter is a show that i turn off the old thinking cap and just sit back and enjoy.
It's better than the Wire

In terms of female hotness, but not in any other category.

I mean even Grandma Caffee looks doable compared to Snoop

I agree with Charlie Murphy....

...in the end I'm much more satisfied with Brotherhood. Dexter has the more entertaining moments and they spoonfeed the viewers more, but Brotherhood just feels so much better in the end for me. And Jason Isaacs > Michael C. Hall
Very Strong Show

But it isn't "the Wire" "Deadwood" or "The Sopranos." I watched most of the series "on demand." It can be very strong. But, there are some hammy lines and less than perfect actors who seem almost uncomfortable with their roles.
Jason Isaacs has the power of AWESOME

Dexter I love but can see some flaws, how some may not love it as much but the Wire? Unless your an assclown you know how perfect that show it. So fraking perfect. Nothing in that genre comes close, not even Sopranos. Course I prefer Rome and BSG and LOST over Sopranos anyday. God will January be sweet!
If that was the last episode ever....

then it definitely was one of the best Brotherhood episodes ever, and definitely gives some closure. But PLEASE don't let it be the end, this is such a fantastic show. I wanna see what happens to Colin, and Michael, and definitely wanna see how Tommy handles knowing he had someone killed to get where he is.
season finale? what?

which has fallen off badly since the first season. It still keeps me entertained but most of the sideplots make me want to flip the channel. Brotherhood is as gritty and compelling as ever. And Michael Caffee fucks more shit up than Tony Soprano.
That was as good as anything from the wire

Every one of them as tried in the past but even Mo sticking with him is plain silly. Especially since he doesn't have Colin backing him up. Why is Freddy do concerned about Tommy that he would help him? Because now Tommy is in his pocket. Freddy outsmarted them all didn't see it coming. But then I thought of a pair of friends I have that have put each other in the hospital every other year then make up later. That's what's so cool about this show it's realistic, bad people don't act like normal people.
Brilliant finale, best season yet.

Seriously, I've been with this show from season 1 and this past season I loved it. In the past I used to let episodes pile up on my DVR and watch them in bunches...this season I watched them Sunday at 8pm. The acting is so fucking outstanding you believe these people all are in Rhode Island right this minute. I loved the path that Tommy took this season and how Michael did what he had to do in the end to save his brother. And whoever said Freddie Cork has become likable isn't kidding. It's amazing the journey this show took you on and I hope it gets a 4th season. If it doesn't, last night's finale was a terrific send off.
Like the Wire...

...in that it examines the often untold stories behind politics, police and criminals, while chronicling the decline of a neighborhood. What it misses is the larger scope, larger themes, and colorful (but believable) characters. And while it may not be quite as good as S1 and S2 of Sopranos, it doesn't get tangled up in the artistic pretensions that undermined that show later. As for Dexter, Dexter is a good page turner and its great for that, but it lacks the depth and richness Brotherhood brings.
Good episode, Looks to be the last as well.

Should Showtime decide not to renew it, the season finale seems more complete than open ended. Good series although underated.
That felt like a series finale......

holy shit, the scene where Tommy confronts Michael definitely took the cake. They definitely seemed to wrap up everything with that ending. I really really hope this gets a season renewal, but I'm not disappointed with this ending. It was great. Now Showtime can continue pissing all of their money into Dexter, the one that unfairly overshadowed Brotherhood the better written and acted show.

I agree that it definatly felt like a series finale rather than a season finale. Everything kind of ran it's course and came full circle (Michael back in hiding like he was at the opening of the first season). Sorry to see it go if that was the final chapter, but happy that it got wrapped up before becomming a ratings casualty or jumping the shark like many solid shows do. Not sure that they really could do a fourth season anyway with everyone gunning for Micheal. He'd either have to end up dead or in jail. Bottom line is that it's good to see a show like that with a solid beggining and end. Thanks cast and crew.
Better than the last 3 seasons of the Sopranos

David Chase forgot he was making a mob series, and thought he was an Artiste. Brotherhood kicked the shit out of the Sopranos final three seasons. In fact, I'd put it on par series for series with the Sopranos. As good as the Wire, maybe not, but neck in neck. As far as getting renewed, there is no need. The story wrapped up perfectly with the last episode. I'd love to see it continue, but I'd be fine if they just wrapped up and sold DVDs into perpetuity. And please give Decko's wife her own show with lots of nudity.
