I've recorded all the episodes of MOWE but haven't gotten to it. The mixed reviews haven't made me rush to see it. I guess now I can just get rid of it. My DVR was starting to get full. I quickly cancelled my season run of Knight Rider after the first episode. Next to go is Crusoe, which I also haven't gotten to yet. Thanks NBC! And thank god for Chuck and the last season of ER!

Heroes is the most deserving show of cancellation ever, and always has been! News flash fans! changed premises, dropped secondary characters and cop outs on major plot points? they all go back to the first season! I know there's backlash heroes now, but that's not enough. Heroes wasn't a good show that went bad, it was a bad show all along that stupid people liked because they said, "ooh, I bet this is building to something!"

Or, ya know, the episodes that matter (leave out the filler eps from seasons 2 & 3). It would be a super cheap solution and would probably garner new viewers for the final episodes. Some Heroes viewers probably don't know what they're missing and would eat that shit up. I mean, it's not like Battlestar has anything to lose at this point, but NBC/Universal certainly has something to gain (viewers and Emmy voters, perhaps). No one could jump on board that show at this point without starting from the beginning. Seems like a good opportunity to me. Worked for Dexter's ratings, as I recall.

Okay, I knew this would come up. Yes, Family Guy came back. Jericho came back. Futurama has sort of come back. Shows even switch networks. I acknowledge that. However, for every show that has come back (and the list is pretty short), there are 100s of shows that did not. Also, on the animated shows, they work differently. The cast of those shows sit in a box for a week and record their dialogue and then can go do whatever the hell else they want to do. The cast of Journeyman has moved on. The cast of Moonlight has moved on. The cast of Wonderfalls or Farscape or whatever hell other live action show has probably moved on. Why won't you?

And this happens in a downtown intersection street in full public view. So she hops out of the van and instead of getting away, she hugs her boyfriend "We did it!" and kisses him and hugs him... These writers should never be allowed near a keyboard again. They should be forced to work telemarketing for the rest of their lives.

But I was actually digging on Enemy. I thought it was relatively inventive how they used the essentially one-trick-pony concept. I think it could easily have grown into an engaging, must-watch series. And it sure as hell is better written than Fringe. Move the show before you kill it, NBC. See if you can find a slot to make it work before you flush all that money and effort. When is NBC gonna realize that putting any show on at 10pm on Mondays is gonna get killed? They did the same thing with Studio 60 (which could've evolved into a stellar show if it got past the preachy politics). I realize they need to fill the whole, but pick something innocuous that you don't have to put too much money into. NBC is like a punchy fighter. It's still trying to slug away with dead arms and no direction long after the right hooks and body blows have taken their toll. They have no clue what they are doing over there. Talk to whoever's running your SciFi and USA divisions. They have pretty fair ideas of what to do right.

Whoever decided to green light this show should be fired. On a side note, whoever decided to give Knight-Rider 22 episodes after the worst 2 hour pilot I have ever seen (and then they made the worst one hour series I have ever seen) should also be fired, and forced to watch every episode of Knight-Rider until their minds explode.

Seriously, given that so many shows get cancelled so quick these days, why don't the networks do more mini/maxiseries? My Own Worst Enemy is the perfect kind of series for this - I've been enjoying it but don't see how it could ever run for 4 or 5 seasons. You could have a much more satisfying tale if you made it of a fixed length and ended the main story. Why not make it a 6 or 12 episode miniseries and if it's a smash hit then bring it back for more, if it tanks then so be it but you have a completed story and no long-term series contracts etc. People would be more willing to watch - one of the reasons I don't watch a lot of new shows first time around is that I don't want to invest 7 or 8 hours to watch the first act of a story that isn't ever going to get completed if it gets cancelled.

Moving to another day or time would mean having to continue shooting to keep up with new episodes. When was this on? Oh yeah, Monday at 10:00. And it wasn't getting good ratings? Just like Journeyman, Black Donnellys, Studio 60, even that stupid wedding prank show. Hey, NBC, maybe it's not the show but the crappy time-slot. Was Aaron Sorkin's insistence on making the show about political statements. (And tangentially, why everyone has decided to foist SNL up as the heart of political commentary and humor is beyond me. The show used to be about comedy. Now it's strictly cheap impersonations.) Sorkin, as much as I love the man, felt that he didn't get to say enough before his premature exit on The West Wing, so he used S60 as a pulpit. I think the characters (though not necessarily some of the casting) and the premise could easily have spun gold if they'd stuck to the idea of a family of performers, the comedy they create, the production of the show, and their dealings with the network. Now, granted, the comedy skits on the show were far from funny, but that's because of where the focus lie. The premise of the show wasn't flawed and I think Studio 60 could have flourished if Sorkin had lightened up and NBC got behind it. But NBC didn't. And it was a very good example - two seasons ago - of the shortsightedness of the network.

the politics and religious discussions on Studio 60 to be beyond what I thought the show would be about. I certainly didn't expect it to be a forum for Sorkin to work through his breakup with Kristin Chenoweth. I was hoping it would be more Sports Night (minus the laugh-track) and less West Wing. I wonder if Sorkin or any of the writers had read "Live From New York" because that should have been Studio 60's blueprint.

The premise was kinda ridiculous. A super agent who gets his mind wiped regularly to somehow protect him and his secret identity? Totally pointless if they had just trained him properly. Just a silly idea from the start. Christian Slater...I've always liked him, but in this he just seemed to be overacting. Something like that. Funny, I guess I'm thinking he was too much of himself..too distracting, so his own worst enemy. I like that other show 'chuck'. But I hate the silly spy actiom parts. They take away from whats good on that show, trying to be 24 or something. I love 24, but not 24-lite in 'chuck'. My own worst enemy reminded me the whole time of the parts of chuck that I dislike. 24-lite sucks. Someone mentioned putting Christian Slater on 24. Maybe that would work, or maybe his mugging for the camera would be that show's ultimate downfall as well. Not that he has to mug for the camera...he's able to do it anytime, even if he's just staring at a wall. He makes this 'look at me I'm Christian Slater' face all the time. He'd probably fit in better guesting on chuck until he can get back to being a proper hollywood movie star.

They have an entire organization surrounding the agents' civilian lives. From the phony workplace to the watchers. It would make sense if Henry was the real person and Edward was the created personality. It would make sense if they had created a spy from a normal guy and that normal guy had to get back to his normal life lest he be missed. But Edward is the real person and he's the one who doesn't exist. Seems to me to be a huge hassle creating false lives for their agents who don't know they are agents and might get hit by a bus. The agents when they are "asleep" are running around unmonitored; doesn't seem a very efficient way of protecting an asset. Really, wouldn't it make more sense to let the agents be agents and build them a secret lair to live in when they are not working? That way they could be monitored all the time. And speaking of being monitored, does it seem strange to anyone else that this organization that has so many safeguards in place doesn't monitor its own people, especially in the office building? Shouldn't James Cromwell have a bug in Saffron Burrows' office? Wouldn't it be standard procedure to monitor everything that goes on in that office seeing as how checking up on agents and their fake lives is her job?

MOWE was like a sci-fi 24, the thing had GRAVITAS. Why am I talking in the past tense already? that is sad... the real sad thing, and I find it odd that it's not reported in the story, is that while NBC was cancelling My Own Worst Enemy, they decided to pick up and extend Kath and Kim, which was UNIVERSALLY PANNED by critics both here on AICN and everywhere else.. WHY NBC.. WHY?!

I'm 53. Have I become so old that Molly Shannon being attractive is a thing of the past? Or is that character, like the rest of the show, just intensely unlikeable? REDD, I think Dark Skies was the alien invasion thing involving historical figures over the last several decades. Couldn't remember the name. Couldn't watch it either.

Dammit, I liked this! Why does Journeyman AND this die but boring Chuck continues to live? Why the fuck do they take shows I like and not shit I don't watch? Pushing Daisies is dying too. I don't get it! Everything I like is taken away! They don't even try to let shows find their audiences anymore, shows that had 3 seasons once would get maybe 3 weeks these days! No wonder old people don't watch TV except for 80-year-old soap operas.
