Now I'm confused. I just bought the first two seasons of these slimsets at Wal-Mart over a week ago, but yet according Amazon, they're not even released until next week? What's the deal with that?

I thought the Beast transfer looked better, this was a funnier story though and as always having Futurama back is a treat.

While it never became a classic/classic, it was still better than 9/10ths of what was on last year. It was (and hopefully still will be) written by people who know how to run a story arc without having their characters act like idiots, and to slowly develop a mythology for the series without either a) stretching out the basic issues ad infinitum, or b) answering everything in one season. It had some flaws (the green card subplot with Ben sucked royally: they still don't seem to know what to do with him), and you kinda wonder why Sam's younger brother did a Chuck Cunningham (maybe it was deliberate?). It's got a good supporting cast (Christine Willes!, the aforementioned Tony and Steve). They already moved beyond the "soul of the week" concept: they keep item, but it's a prod to tell the real stories, not the stories themselves. And it actually has something to say about heaven and hell, good and evil. In a way that Supernatural is just getting into.

Sure, it won't have Mandy "Battleship" Patinkin in it, but will it air on Showtime or go straight to bottom of Walmart DVD $5 bin?

I liked it, but gave up on the soul of the week concept. Too soon! Quit before Tony and Steve and their plot against Satan came onboard. I'll have to play catchup with the second half of the season. I have to give the network kudos for a 2nd season. And it's nice to see what folk like Ron (Tremors, City Slickers) Underwood are up to nowadays.

Wow! I had thought that the remaining later tv movies had been abandoned! YES! These werent as good as the classics, but we are a content away from KNIGHT RIDER 2008 standards for later elements of a classic series. Does this mean the final season of VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA is at last going to be released? and while I am at it, Why not THE ROPERS and THREES A CROWD. LOL! (Seriously, I am sure you all have a top 5 that still isnt on dvd, mine are BATMAN, GREEN HORNET, SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN, BIONIC WOMAN, and, of all things, the 60's Marvel comics cartoons like THOR AND IRON MAN. I did manage to get gold with the remastered 67 SPIDERMAN classic cartoons, so why not? I guess as a sn alternate, the H/B FANTASTIC FOUR from the 60's.)

Never mind the shitty Will Smith movie. The original series was bizarre (in a good way)...a hybrid of traditional Western, Jules Verne, pulp and Norman Saunders graphics. Very addictive; I hope someone else, in the next half century, develops a worthy (movie) adaptation.

Well, they're still hunting souls most weekends, but it's usually a supplement to something else. Like in "Hungry For Fame" when they capture the soul, and use it to convince Jamie Kennedy's schmuck he shouldn't make a deal with the Devil. "Greg, Schmeg" is the first and only one without an escaped soul. But it eventually becomes more like the B plot.

at all costs.

The packaging is so horrid that 13 of 20 discs were floating free in the box.

HIT also removed the cool extras found in the first three sets and replaced them with bunk poster of Fraggle Rock.

I am excited about- Batman: The Animated Series, Spin City, and (don't laugh) America's Test Kitchen. Mainly Batman but good to see that Spin City is getting individual seasons on DVD instead of lame "Best of" compilation DVDs. America's Test Kitchen is on PBS. Check it out sometime. Very educational and it will make you hungry. G'nite.

Kim Possible is an amazingly creative, entertaining show -- why Disney releases some of the most incidental dreck to DVD, but completely ignores a series that was extremely popular for several years is beyond me. You CAN get the first season from itunes, but not on DVD. Makes NO sense to me whatsoever.

i agree. i have the 1st two seasons of WWW but really think they should have put the wild wild west movies on the last one. (or did they? wer'nt they like two of them-possibly 3?) the mind forgets. i mean, hell they put that time tunnel movie onto the time tunnel series so.....also agree on the choices of green hornet (bruce lee tie-in) and the bionic shows. problem with the bionics is there were several cross-over eps between six and bionic so how would you do that as far as releasing season DVDs? Not all that fired up for Batman TOS for some reason. Also i really need to pick up those 15.00 Angel/Buffy sets at Wal-mart cause i have a weird feeling that their not going to restock those when there gone. Also Circuit Cities are being phased out. Does anyone know when their measly 10-30% offs will go to like 50-60% on all the crap they have left? Picked up the 2 disc-Blade Runner for like 12.00 yesterday but headged on Alien Resurrection (as i have the first three) even though it was only like 7-8 bucks. didn't want to spend 20.00 in one day. (sorry, Josh Whedon)

Why is there no review of Dead Set, even though you are carrying ads for the DVD on the site?
