Just when you think Vic is gonna be all right, the shot rings out from behind, Vic falls and there stands Cassidy with the smoking gun. He shouldn't have grabbed her arm so hard.
Shane gets betrayed by Mara...

...then Vic kills him. OR, Shane kills himself? Either way, Mara's a bitch. If Shane gets killed in THIS episode, I can't see how any of the season could be exciting. "Ooh, Vic gets out of ANOTHER jam! Claudette's pissed! Dutch gets dumped by another woman! Etc..."

You kinda gave a little too much away pal! First you make it clear that Vic and Ronnie decide Mara needs to go too then you say that Vic and Shane meet and 1 of them ends up dead or arrested. Obviously its not Vic because this ain't the last episode so it seems pretty obvious Mara kills Shane which gives Vic a reason to let Mara and her kid go.

but my friend does. I've seen several episodes and he keeps me updated on what happens. Just call it laziness; I don't feel like watching 7 seasons worth of a show in a month. Anyway, I think Shane is going to come out on top. That sniveling asshole.

And it clearlhy says Vic is in the last two episodes, so no real spoilers in the review of this week's... The final scene is Dutch going to prison, not Vic. Remember a long time ago when Dutch choked the cat to death, but it hasn't been touched on since? I'll bet Dutch has four or five bodies in his basement.

that's why the "arrested" is mentioned. Shane will be arrested while giving Mara a chance to escape. This is why Mara is pissed off at the end and Vic's wife tries to convince her to give herself up.

Spoilers
by oogabooga
Oct 28th, 2008
01:47:57 PM
Its a spoiler because Shane either dies or is arrested and I don't see him giving himself up without taking Vic with him. If he wanted to turn himself in he could get protection for Mara so Vic couldn't get to her and if he goes to jail he'll have the same problem Lem had Antwon would be able to get to him so he dies either at his own hand or else Mara shoots him in the back.

I love that all the Coaxial reviewers try to imitate Herc's style, but this is way too spoilery. Herc never gave away important plot points, he just vaguely hinted as to where the episode headed. I regretted reading this even though I'm all caught up.
Season Six price has dropped a little...
by MisterE
Oct 28th, 2008
02:59:49 PM
In case anyone is interested, Amazon.com has dropped the price of "The Shield" Season Six from $40 to $35. Still not a great price considering that season six is only ten episodes in length (and is, IMO, the least greatest season of the series). I've bought the previous five seasons, but may have to wait until season six hits $30 or less.

Fucking Screen Compression

Will FX give us their word that there will be ABSOLUTELY NO Mutha' Fucking screen compression as the final screen credits roll. If there are added IMPORTANT scenes as the credits roll, I'd like to fucking see them rather than a screen compression and a voice over about the next hottest program coming soon. If they compress, will be an unforgivable fan breech and slap in the face of all that have followed faithfully for the past seven years,,,,,jeesh

Who cares? I think its funny. I think its just part of being on this site for too long. Those who post this stupid shit sometimes get me through my day. Its like they are entitled to do it cause they've been around the site for so long; and it awesome that they dont take themselves so serious. Look at the other talkbacks, people get excited when someone like "dannyglover'sdickblood" shows their face to say something absurd and off color.

I won't spoil anything in the episode other then it was interesting to see Vic almost instantly regret turning in his badge in the last episode. It's hard out there on the streets for a bad ass rogue cop without a badge.

"arrested" aka "Vic was detained"
by RyanMurray
Oct 28th, 2008
10:43:21 PM
Duh! :)

I still say the last scene of the show will be Vic's dead body leaning up against a cold concrete wall, his brains splattered against it. The shot will pan out slowly and everyone will assume that Cassidy or Shane or Ronnie might've done it, but it'll just be a suicide. The editing will sell the 'murder' until the shot pans out to sell the suicide.

Or not, but hey, that's how I'd do it.

send out one ending via satellite, a different one via cable. Talk about f'ing up a talkback!

I still think it'll end with Vic walking away clean, he's lost his family, lost his job, his daughter comits suicide, but walks away free. Claudette dies in the Barn from Lupus, Dutch takes over. Ronnie dies taking down Shane.

Shawn Ryan mentioned that if they thought of the ending immediately, then he didn't want to use it as fans would come up with it as well. To me, the most obvious endings are 1) Vic gets shot. 2) Vic gets arrested. So ruling these two types of endings out, what are we left with? Unless Ryan means that the person who shoots Vic is the twist. Ah well, we'll see.

That was a fantastic episode. Holy shit, did it ratchet up the intensity between Vic and Shane, as well as Vic and everyone else.

Seems like Vic's only chance for a positive outcome is to kill Shane and Mora, even though I have huge reservations about him doing this. He's done with the Police, obviously, so his only "in" is likely with the FBI in some capacity.

Aside from Vic, though, the creepy unfolding of Rita and her psychotic son was pretty riveting too. Dutch has the uncanny ability to recognize true sociopathic personalities, so him trying to protect Rita from her own son is a law enforcement drama I've never seen before. So creepy and insidious, yet sad as hell. I'm very interested to see how it'll unfold, and whether Dutch will have to step up big time to save her. What a fucked up story. I love it.

Can't wait for next week!

I doubt that "The Shield" will go the route of having Dutch turn into a full-on serial killer. There simply isn't enough time left to flesh out a story of that type, plus "Dexter" has that base covered already.

Can I say that I hate the 'Corine' character? She's always whining about being hurt, or offended, or upset and sad...what real woman stabs the father of her children in the rear? True, they've had their shares of disagreements, to say the least. But she understands that Vic loves his family, and would do anything to protect them. And she believes that dumb bird Maura over Vic. Bitch lives in a dreamworld. I hope she od's on pills, which might be where that character is going anyway....

Cassidy's not going to shoot Vic.
by MisterE
Oct 30th, 2008
10:15:41 AM
If this story was leading to Cassidy shooting Vic, then there would be some sort of build up to that event besides scenes of a pubescent girl rebelling against her cop dad. At the least, we would probably have seen that Cassidy had somehow acquired a gun. "I'm gonna find my father, and I'm gonna kill him" is not going to happen.
