It's literally the exact same story: family can't stand the dog's foul odor, but they learn to love it when it manages to foil a robbery attempt on their house. The only difference is they switched it to farting instead of bad breath and now they are going to make even more money off their theft. Where's karma when you need it?

Did anyone else notice that the plot of Walter is lifted entirely from Brad Bird's the Family Dog Cartoon? I couldn't believe what I was reading when I picked this book for story time. I guessed the ending as soon as I started reading the book, my son asked if I had read it before. I told him no I had seen the cartoon. We decided to watch Mr. Bird's cartoon instead of finishing the book.
