(ergh, I mean, "OH SHOOT") Battle Driods!! [insert dumbass comment by Battle Driod : "Sorry Sir, It's my programming"] Jedi and Clones run around blasting driods left and right. "Oh man, that was close! But we're the Republic, so we win!" REPEAT EPISODE.

The producers of the new Terminator trilogy have a vested interest in Sarah Connor staying on the air. you cannot have a high profile terminator project canceled right before a new movie opens. The network probably has to absorb its losses for the sake of the movie trilogy.

The Cameron-centric episode "(some-chick) from (somewhere)" was the best episode this season. I do miss the narration from the 1st season. Still nothing beats the season-ender from last season where John gets to see his father for the 1st time, though he's 6 years old!!! Powerful episode.

Does he call himself a reporter? If he had any clue he would know that FOX is putting the Whedon show on WEDNESDAY following Bones. That has been the plan for awhile now. FOX feels that Bones has some Whedon fans because of a certain cast member on Bones.

The best place for Whedon's show is to follow Bones, which more than survived the move to Wednesday. It will give Whedon a strong leadin. The only thing better is following HOUSE. Why Herc even thought it would be on Monday nights is beyond me.

Simply put, money. I believe that the advertising dollars that a station gets once the network is off the air goes directly to the station owners, not the network. That's also why some stations preempt a network late-night show in favor of a syndicated show. They don't give a shit if Kimmel goes on at 1:30 instead of midnight because they're raking in the dough from the ads for the larger midnight audience and leaving the smaller $ for the network. Of course, a network owned and operated station is going to give the network's programming priority, but there are still lots of stations owned by indies or other media groups. The almighty $ rules.
Sarah Connor is not owned by FOX
by Prof. Pop-Cult
Oct 18th, 2008
04:53:36 AM
As I said in the last TalkBack, it is independently owned and produced by the producers of the movies, and heavily backed financially by Warner Bros.. It's being produced not just for the American market, but to be aired throughout the world. So the show costs pretty much nothing to FOX to air on its network. Worst case scenario, if FOX elects to cancel it, the series would probably wind up on another network... perhaps Time Warner's TNT. The show simply exists for the international market, to keep the Terminator brand in the public eye as the next movies come out, and to show DVDs. It's being produced, lastly, for the American TV market. This series' production and distribution is in a pretty unique situation, compared with other scripted series on the networks.

the last episode of T:TSCC was the best of the season so far. Although they still displayed this horrible new trend of having half the cast doing something really lame (babysitting and writing book reports?!? Bitches - please...)whilst the others deal with rampaging killer robots, the main thread was pretty cool and the action/effects work was some of the best I've seen in this show. Great News for a Great Show starring a Great Cast! More Summer Glau is a GOOD THING! But, to play it safe, they should write a series finale for the last episode of season 2, since most likely it won't be back for a season 3. And this way the show could get a proper ending. But, of course they can leave a bit of an opening....just in case. :)

2 of the last 4 Terminator SCC eps have been using the LOST flashback/forward plot device to bring some wieght and emontional attachment between us and the characters and it's been spot on. I like the direction they're going trying to stop skynet from helping itself set up, still not sold on Shirley Manson though. I liked it better when Skynet was setting things in motion, not having the T1000 leader pulling these strings. It's pretty damn good though.

. . .I don't think T:SCC has been doing well recently. Aside from the season 2 premiere, all the episodes have been rather shaky. And as powerful as the ending for the last episode was (with John realizing that by protecting someone meant sentencing him to death later on), the majority of that episode had far too many irrelevant tangents for it to be solid. C'mon, a book report? And in previous episodes, pregnant women? Ugh. That said though, T:SCC is still enjoyable. Most of the time. So wow, I guess FOX finally did something right.

I meant since Terminator was greenlit for a complete season. What made you think they would still do Monday nights?

It has always been the plan for Bones to move to Fridays. Since FOX is leaning to having Dollhouse follow Bones, that was a logical conclusion. Bones did better than expected moving to Wednesdays. They expect the move to Fridays will be just as strong.

I wouldn't worry about Dollhouse. If they do make Dollhouse "limited commercial breaks," it will have a strong C+3 rating and keep it on the air.

I dig the TV series!

It's incredibly silly at times but ultimately always lots of fun. Just like Heroes.

Monday nights wouldn't be as much fun without Heroes, The Sarah Connor Chronicles and the vastly underrated How I Met Your Mother.

I am just about ready to give up on this season and I'm not at all surprised the ratings are down.

Last season kept me JUST interested enough to stay tuned to see if it would get any better - which it did show promise of being capable of doing...

Unfortunately, it has not.

I never called the whiney pregnant lady fat. I said she was WHINEY! SHE SO FAR BRINGS NOTHING TO THE SHOW EXCEPT BRINGING IT TO A HALT! I don't care if she's pregnant, but I don't know her character's name, therefore she's most recognizable for being pregnant. But, she still brings NOTHING to the show so far. As for being pregnant, good for her, but PUT SOME FREAKING CLOTHES ON! NO ONE WANTS TO SEE HER BELLY EXPOSED. Most pregnant ladies don't go around exposing their bellies to teenage boys. NOW THAT'S JUST SICK. And there's nothing wrong with LIKING GIRLS IN MINI SKIRTS! More guys need to be interested in girls. Everyone's gone gay nowadays! Russia is going to have a field day invading America, which is full of girly men! Have a nice day. :)

Fox. They are also considering a different Thursday lineup. Right now they're planning to tie Bones and Dollhouse together. However some people behind Dollhouse are upset, and Terminator may move behind Bones on Fridays, and 24/Dollhouse may in fact stay in play as originally planned.

Dollhouse should be ok. FOX is upset about some things, but still very excited about the show.

INSTEAD OF DOLLHOUSE, THEY SHOULD MAKE "THE DOLL FACTORY"

Instead of Joss Whedon's "Dollhouse", they should make a series based on Knott's Scary Farm's maze "THE DOLL FACTORY". Seeing those creepy doll girls would be cool! If you're in Southern California right now, make sure you head over to Knott's Scary Farm and check it out! There's only two weeks before it's gone.

It's a great show... it fits perfectly with the first two movies and has taken the bad taste out of my mouth I had after T3. If this show had a respectable budget it would probably rock in a big way. I don't know why it doesn't get more coverage here... and things like "Mad Men" get weekly raves. You want to talk about "chick shows"? I will take hottie cyborgs any day over some frakkin' soap opera about "advertising executives". It makes me sick to my stomach that shit won Emmy's - I can't believe Herc watches that fetid putrid pile of maggot infested feces over SCC, it's almost reason to revoke both his man card and his geek card at the same time. I mean, give those guys Cowboy hat's and it's Dallas Pt. II and that's "Cool News" in what possible way? It's real basic... killer cyborg robots from the future = cool (even on a 1 dolla budget) handsome advertising executives banging secretaries - not cool even on a million dollar budget.

My Review Of This Season's TV
by IAmMrMonkey!
Oct 19th, 2008
06:52:10 AM
The following only includes the shows I've watched:

HEROES (SEASON 3) - It's back, it's stupider than ever but my God is this show enjoyable. Faster pacing than last season, some crazy but still entertaining plot twists and some nice action sequences allow me to award the show.... 7/10

LIFE (SEAON 2) - They appear to have toned down our slightly loony protagonist this season but they're starting to build up an interesting story around the people who put him away. As always, Lewis makes this show worth watching and the individual cases are still nicely written and so I give the show... 8/10.

FRINGE (SEASON 1) - A very polished production which looks nice even though only one of the episodes so far ("The Arrival") has gripped me. It could develop into something special but I'm not sure yet. John Noble is the best thing in the show but I'm growing a bit tired of all the plots relating back to his character's past. We'll see.... 6/10.

TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES (SEASON 2) - I resisted much of season one but gave it a second chance when I read a few people on AICN stating that the show got a lot better once John's uncle made his appearance. And they were right! However, this season hasn't been quite as good in my eyes. I'm very pleased with the addition of Garret Dillahunt who is one of my favourite actors but not so much with Shirley Manson whose character I'm starting to hate for all the wrong reasons. A T-1001 that cracks puns after killing people? No thanks. However, I'm still watching T:TSCC because, much like Heroes, I enjoy it despite its flaws (Summer Glau and Lena Headley also help) and so I award it... 7/10

LIFE ON MARS (SEASON 1) - I watched the pilot and thought it was pretty good (not surprising when it was pretty much a straight adaption of the UK pilot) but miss John Simm in the lead role. Yeah, I miss John Simm A LOT; Jason O'Mara doesn't feel right - in fact, he reminds me of a younger, less talented Mel Gibson. I also found Harvey Keitel to be strangely lacking which is something I thought I'd never write. I made it half way through the second episode and became quite bored. I may come back to it. I may not. I award it.... 4/10

If the show could just get John Connor right...

then it might hit its stride. Sarah and Cameron are interesting characters, but John just comes off like a whiny bitch. There have been a couple of really good episodes this season but overall it's a mixed bag. I'm not sure if I would be watching if it wasn't tied into the Terminator films.

by Earthquake WestCoast
Oct 19th, 2008

They need to focus more on the character relationship of john and his cute teenage protector! All the other characters should just be supporting the main three (john, cameron, sarah), but they're focusing too much on the others. I ALSO WANT TO SEE THE PROM EPISODE THEY'VE BEEN HINTING AT LAST SEASON. That could be a funny seeing Cameron go to the prom, especially if that poor bastard that's suppose to take her tries anything with her. OH, and don't show anymore scenes in the future unless you're going to go all out and show something cool. No more people just talking in a bunker or in the dark. It just cheapens all the previous future scenes. AND SHOW MORE CAMERON HEAVY EPISODES!

Great Episode Tonight

I liked the psychological approach to the characters. People ask why the show is good? Strong themes run through each episode, which touch on more than just robots/people kicking the crap out of each other...this is about people struggling through broken lives, war, and displacement. It's about people coming to grips with their place in the world and the meaning of existence. This is when the show succeeds, when it mixes the character work with the action. Yeah, a terminator got twisted into a pretzel tonight (with the heel of a high-heel show stuck in her eye), but you also had some really emotional moments with the counselor.

how come there is never any threads posted on this show? It's pretty popular with people in here. I am kina worried about the continuity though because it is going to be running the same time as Salvation. Is it going to have anything to do with the Christian Bale series or no? I mean obviously T3 is completely null now......and why does the T-1001 need a psychotherapist to raise her own maker? Seems kina strange to me that if the machines are linked in the future they would understand on another better. And whats up with The Turk already understanding humor??? None of the Terminators seem to have grasped it.

Not only did this episode of T:SCC kick ass but we got to see the actress from BSG:Razor again! How cool is that. I am thinking she wants to whack John. As far as Cameron getting the thing off the elevator, well it doesn't look like the office was too heavily trafficked. Also, she might have just drug it down the hall and pitched out out the window into the back alley. Loved the fight though, loved the character work. As far as Manson I am not totally sure which faction of machines she is with, it's obvious that Skynet has broken up into two factions now and one of them doesn't use the blunt approach. Seems like they are trying to understand, imitate, and infiltrate the humans. Even in the future they seem more interested in capture, interrogation, and experimentation than they do with extinction. Yet another facet of the show that I like.

I never thought it would be as intelligent as it's become. They're focusing on character development, which is rare in a show like this these days. TSCC is now beating out Chuck for my real-time viewing attention.

As for the elevator scene, I was wondering why they stopped too, but they had the same programming and were probably fine waiting for a few seconds (and could rely on the other to do so) if it would avoid having to deal with a bunch of cops that would alert the target/object of protection and make it harder for either to find him.

As for Shirley Manson. I can't believe I was once attracted to her. What the hell is up with her face? I have a thing for redheads and I'm usually only attracted to women who have some kind of imperfection or strangeness to their look, but she's just creepy looking. Something about the eyes/eyebrows I guess. Now Summer, that's an odd face that totally does it for me.
