But I have seen the trailer, and it looks spellbinding. Atmospheric, creepy, beautiful, haunting, creepy and lucious. I am sooo looking forward to cathing this one. Will avoid the remake.

I can tell just from the trailer that The Suits in Hollywood will fuck this thing up and rob it every nuance that won over audiences in the first place.
This is an absolutely wonderful, brilliant film.

One of my very favorite from Fantastic Fest this year. My hat's off to Magnet for giving this a theatrical release here in the States, because it deserves it. This is a really special film, and I highly recommend everyone see it. (I will happily pay to see it again, and can't wait to bring my friends who missed it during FF and are kicking themselves.)

The other trailer seems to capture the movie's emotional core better than this one. This trailer is just random flashing scenes.
someone should make a horror movie called "The Buffering"

where the lead character has a Macbook Pro, high speed digital cable, and still has to wait for fucking shitty tiny videos to load from shitty websites because they can't figure out how to embed a goddamn normal quicktime file.

Spike Jonze to direct.

Being a Swede I can judge the performances somewhat differently, since I understand what the hell they are saying. The lines spoken in this trailer are slightly stilted and seems a bit theatrical(typical of Swedish film that mixes theatre actors with amateurs, and yes acting in film is different in many ways from theatre acting). It's opening in Sweden in a little while so it will be interesting to see how it is received here. Genre films are considered low brow by any standard here (and rightfully so), perhaps this will change that. The director's brother is talented anyway, in making "proper" films.
Vampires are cool.

There I posted on topic. Now I know a test screening happened of The Watchmen here in Portland in front of an audience for the first time. I also know from being a Portlandian that it was the worst kept secret in history and a fucking mob showed up. Due to the fact I had to work you're not getting a review out of me, but SOMEONE in this awesome fucked up little city HAD to have been there who had the same idea I did. WHERE ARE THE REVIEWS?
How about a movie called "The Remaking"?

...but the movie really isn't all that good. It's worth checking out for its atmosphere and cinematography, but don't expect any story or emotion or believable characters. I liked the girl's "father", but not nearly enough is done with him. I really don't understand why this site loves the film so much.

it's really fucking good. The good guys are flawed, the bad guys are made to be sympathetic while still being bad... I'm not even a big time reader, but I am drinking up this book like I can't believe. I can't wait til it plays in Chicago, although I'm worried a lot will be lost from the book, because every single character has a story that is told in their thoughts. even the most minor ones that would be played by glorified extras in the film.

I don't know if the original film will have all of the elements from the book, but there's no way an american version will allow the pedophilia and preteen nudity to be in their version. You know how Hollywood is. They'll probably want to make it PG-13

do a search on google and you should be able to find out if the movie will be playing in a theater near you. I don't think they have a DVD release date yet.
You know they're gonna ruin it with a remake.

It's not a big action movie. In fact, it's more restrained than the book. It's really good though. In Hollywood terms... It's Devil's Backbone meets My Girl.

Looks awesome. Not usually a fan of subtitled movies (I know - I'm a damn philistine) but will make the effort to see this. I do think that M Night is probably the only film-maker in Hollywood that has a chance to make this decently. Hope he gets the chance and not some hack....
