Fucking stupid shows.

And still, people complain about Heroes.

Hell, bring back Freddy Prinze, Jr. as Donny Crane for good measure! Otherwise, what's the point of another lawyer show?
I'll miss Denny Crane.

I liked it when it when they took on the absolutely bizarre stuff or whenver Denny Krane shot somebody but began to despise the show when it became a lazy framework for Kelly's preachy bullshit. My favorite moment: When James Spader paid a random guy in a bar to punch his assailant in the face. An extra $100 if he goes down.
I hope the two exclamation marks are sarcastic.

Or rather the prevalent theme "Don't hate me despite the fact that I am a self absorbed, toxic, sad sack who makes a lot of money." CUT TO: Cheesy Motown Musical Number that only appeals to boomer idiots and the gen-exers who love them.

I thought the reason Boston Legal returned this tear was because Kelley was behind/had rights to "Life on Mars" and it was a take both or neither situation? Interesting that he's gone back to NBC.
You can't rip on one of the most successful writers

in American television. He makes AICN stalwarts such as Joss Whedon and Bryan Fuller seem like nobodies. He has more successful hours of television than almost anyone. He's up there with Steven Bochco, Stephen J. Cannell, Aaron Spelling and Dick Wolf.

David Kelley walks into the room and every show runner working in TV is in fucking awe. You better believe it. Maybe he's hasn't been on fire lately, but he could retire right now with his wife MICHELLE PFEIFFER, never write another thing and remain considered as one of the most successful TV writers ever.

'Nuff said!

Snowpuff, Really? After the last two weeks someone's tax bracket and/or 'awe' inspiring esteem in Hollywood means exactly nothing in today's desperate times. Over the next five years all the big shots will dissolve and (god willing) replaced by cheaper, younger and original talent. I'm for legends as much as the next guy--but if Bochco is some kind of William Faulkner then Kelley is pure Elizabeth Wurtzel.
Yes, it will be all quirky and funny in the first season

then a key cast member will leave sometime in the second season, which will begin to disguise the lack of new ideas by a succession of ever more whacky storylines and guest stars.

then, pretty soon, it will be obvious to everyone how hard it has begun to suck.

everyone, that is, except the Emmy folk who will cluelessly continue to award it 'best drama' for the next three seasons...

I wouldn't mind his lawyer dramas if they made one once of F'ing sense.

Danny Crane was the only point to watching Boston Legal

What got me was the total lack of reality in the show. Oh, stretch reality here or there, but when 3rd parties (police) get involved, I expect to see some acknowledgment (just a line or two) that the characters have danced all over and across "the line".

F'ing horrible shows with so much promise.

I've liked Kelley up to a point---

That's about all I got - i don't really pay that much attention to television producers.

as his shows progress. I liked The Practice and Ally McBeal in their first years but eventually, I wanted to beat the cast of both shows to death with a blunt object. Personally, my favorite thing of his was Mystery Alaska. And Northern Exposure got really, really annoying those last three years.

Kelley lawyer show. And the next one after that. Ad fuggin nauseam.

They don't really greenlight shows anymore. They just give their favored producers more money to re-do the same old same-old.

Northern Exposure was not a Kelley show. I think you're thinking of Picket Fences...
