I didn't mean "network tv" like NBC, FOX, etc., I meant cable channels that I don't have to pay extra for.

I always enjoy your postings, but when you say, "If I'm paying extra for the channel, I want some goddamn movies", aren't forty showings a month of I Am Legend or House Party 2 enough? Wouldn't it be nice to have some original series in there? Probably most of them aren't going to be another Dexter or True Blood or Mad Men or Breaking Bad, but maybe one or two of them might be? To me, the more original scripted programming we have by cable, the better. Most movies nowadays suck. Some of the recent cable series don't. Movies are dead. Long live the new flesh!

Half the time its a boring character drama, (some housewife remodeling a bathroom for her dad is considered compelling drama?) the other is an exceedingly pathetic 'Shield' rip-off (hell they even have the dirty cop with a shaved head banging a female uniform officer behind his wife's back, sound familiar?)
