It really come as a surprise. I will not see Fame, and I will NEVER see High School Musical III. I do watch the Terminator series, which is almost good. It is so close to being a good show. It also shouldn't be surprising that he will be cast as Robin in the third Batman movie from Chris Nolan, which is due out in 2010.

Not sure this needs doing. The original holds up rather well IMHO. Hollywood is just giving up on anything remotely original it seems.

A bunch of forty-somethings playing teens would be hysterical, especially since Paul McCrane went so damn bald.

the original Fame was classic in a kind of raw sense. R-rated, intentionally underplayed and underwritten, almost documentary-like at times. There's just no way this can be made today without it coming across as crass MTV-style advertising with cliche plots about 'making it' and cookie-cutter characters.
So is going to suck like Rent?

I never got to see Rent on stage but I detested the movie. I'm a sucker for musicals in general but Rent just agitated me with it's phony bohemian bullshit. I can't criticize the play because I didn't see it on stage when it was fresh and new, sometimes context provides a lot. As for Fame, this just sounds like a remake I can live without. How about a big screen version of Wicked instead?

It's called "Whore" and I guess it's supposed to get a limited release sometime this year. I have no idea what the quality is but I have to admit it's pretty impressive for a 19 year old to finish anything with a budget. It can either be interesting or it could be like James Franco's "The Ape." Anyone who saw that knows exactly what I'm talking about when personal ambition doesn't necessarilyl equate to quality.
