O.J. probably got convicted by his all-white jury SOLELY on the murders 13 years ago, NOT based on the evidence of this latest case. Which, ironically, is just as evil and wrong as his black jury acquitting him 13 years ago, when all of the evidence and motive (and bloodstains leading to his doorstep) pointed to O.J.'s being guilty of double homicide.

I feel sorry for the poor sap who got convicted with O.J., because he believed in the system and didn't cop a plea.

The Palin impersonations, performed by Tiny Fey (the incarnation of Nancy Kulp), are wearing thin. Where are the Joe Biden sketches? This guy has articulated some mind-numbing gaffes; an opportunity is wasted because the show adhesively sticks to its party alliance. Even the network can't rescue 30 ROCK (the public has no tolerance for Fey beyond a 3-minute constraint). And, naturally, Obama is canonized as a saint (though, earlier this year, he was portrayed as an inexperienced goober whom the media inflated; opponent Hillary Clinton was the demigod). SNL's comedy quota expires after the opening sketch. Their comedy and politics is depressingly predictable.

you are the ONLY person in the world who thinks the Fey as Palin sketches are wearing thin. People are tuning in specifically to see those sketches. and 30 Rock is a great show as well. you're just mad because your party is getting completely thrashed in polls, and taking it out on anything that isn't outright pro-republican. Go back to watching FoxNews Channel.

I could see it get old quick. But Biden hasn't really made any headlines, and Palin just lends herself to a funnier impression. If the show was actually mocking them in some political way, they could include Biden. But mostly, they're making fun of what we've seen of her so far. But yeah, I also suspect SNL prefers making fun of Republicans. The problem is, Biden hasn't done anything particularly funny lately.

Palin sketch prediction: Tina Fey turns to the camera, gives us a grin and a wink, accompanied by a "bling" sound affect.

You're an idiot. I'm a card-carrying Democrat but I prefer a non-partisan edge to comedy. Biden, the perfect "dumb guy", dropped some bombshells that the media barely covered. And Fey's humor is redundant (test patterns draw better ratings than 30 ROCK). In spite of my political allegiance, I'm not happy about the party. Nancy Pelosi (who should have been nominated as prez) detained the bailout with some catty dialogue. And Obama is infusing his negativity with censorship; I'm very ANTI-censorship so he lost my vote (hello, Ralph Nader). If you think that McCain is already defeated...well, I remember everyone thought that Kerry would win by a landslide.

NO ONE ever thought Kerry would win by a landslide. If YOU ever thought that, you're an even more out of touch than I thought. As fo McCain, yes, things can change in 30 days, but judging by current polls, mapped by electoral votes, Mccain only has 163, Obama 264, and 111 "toss-ups" - thats a pretty severe trouncing:

...even though I think it's a bit heavy handed. Biden is a comedy goldmine. They could royally spoof him throwing out his 16 factually incorrect statements in spectacular style.

And for those who think this election is going to be won handily...forget everything you think you know. There will probably be 2-3 more lead changes in the polling. And I swear to God if McCain wins and I am going to puke upon hearing two things ad nauseum:

US is racist for not electing Obama and/or the election was fixed.

I'm afraid you're right. McCain will win. People tend to forget about the large bunch of republican folks in the Midwest who aren't real vocal in the lead-up to the election but come out in force on election days, while citizens in urban areas forget to vote or simply never even fucking register. Urbanites and the media from the East and West coasts love to scream at each other and compare polls, but in terms of the general populace vote, McCain's got it. Just look at the 2004 election, which forever made me lose faith in democratic elections. One of the worst administrations in the history of the country and they were fucking commended by the red states for it. Texas will secede from this shitty union soon anyways, but not before I cast my vote for Obama. And I'm a fucking Republican. Palin is what pushed me over. Can't stand that bitch. I will be watching and laughing my ass off at SNL tonight, and then jerking off to Fey as I go to sleep.

She NAILED that Mary Poppins sketch, and read the cue cards less (or less-obviously) than the entire cast, so I don't think they were "propping her up" at all. So far, she and Anna Faris have been the best hosts of the season.

Decent show tonight, albeit a few too many filler sketches. At least they were still amusing. But the Lawrence Welk, Mary Poppins, and Wahlberg sketches were pretty hilarious, thanks more to the performances than the writing.

What I meant to say was that it(the homocide) would not have received as much attention/sensationalism if not for A.His celebrity status and especially B.If Nicole and Ron were Black or Latino.

When it all came down to it the trial/verdict was about Race: White people mad, Black people happy. (broad generalization nonteheless..)No one won accept for OJ who hasn't been "Black" since he won the Heisman Trophy. Why support a guy whose only contribution to the Black community was to open Fried Chicken franchises?

He's as much of a prick as Buh, except that "Dubya" is responsible for way more American deaths "irregardless" of Race or Gender.Simpson the arrogant fuck got his Karma, so when will Georgie get his come uppings?!? 700 Billion bailout which may stil include Golden Parachutes for greedy ass CEOs?To quote that song (from System of a Down)Fuck the System!!

His face angers me. His delivery infuriates me. I declare him a bastard in a basket.

And Tina Fey...by Crom, she is the hottest thing I've ever laid my thorax on. If only I could have access to that hot crone and get her to stay in Sarah Palin character for an evening...

There is no such thing. And I was wrong about SNL. The debate sketch was the best of Tina's Palin bits and it wasn't overkill.

I actually don't believe in karma, and don't know why i posted two comments about it. I think in general, OJ going to jail now for trying to steal back his acquittal suit is more poetic or ironic, but it does seem like it would fall into the 'karma' definition. But i think in real life, people who tend to fuck up or do fucked up things eventually do it again, especially when given a second chance. Its not karma, it's patterns. (And now, 3 posts about this).

They have yet to take on the left in any substantive way. There was plenty to mock about Biden aside from how he complimented McCain alot. They lay into Palin in every way possible.. and then lightly rib on Biden. How 'bout making fun of the hypocrisy in his whole presentation since not but 8 months ago the man was AGREEING with the rights criticisms of Obama? How 'bout making fun of his incessant jawing about the middle class, when in reality him and Barry voted 100's of times to raise taxes on them? How 'bout making fun of the Obama McCain attacking McCain for being old and "inside" Washington.. meanwhile Biden is old and "inside" Washington? How 'bout in the next Obama - McCain debate skit they make fun of Obama for having LESS substance than Palin? For fucks sake, why not make fun of Bidens fucking Botox? And the housing crisis skit was a cop out, too. "Democrats had a hand in it, too" my ass. Democratic social engineering CAUSED the entire thing. Why not go after that angle? Where can I find some comedy with some fucking balls for a change? ohhh.. making fun of republicans... how gutsy.

Are prime examples of why conservatives are never funny. Dennis Miller after he became a neo-con, the rednecks of the Blue Collar comedy tour, that attempt by Fox to make their own version of the Daily Show and the latest, An American Carol (torrented it, it was brutal). Tina Fey's Palin is what the audience wants to see, that was the only real laughter fodder in that debate.

Thank you for providing example #6,981 of why right-wing attempts at comedy fail. Comedians look for the funny in a situation. They don't consciously think about bias and try to hang the funny on snarky talking points. I mean, how dense are you? You just listed a bunch of Republican talking points verbatim - most of them not even being true - and you want illustrating them would make for a comedy sketch? You need to turn off the radio, computer and television and go for a walk.

The Democrat Leadershp is corrupt also, just not as openly in your face as corrupt as the Republicans and that is the difference between the two. Voting for the Dems is voting for the lessor of the two evils. Better you be killed with kindness than killed with outward viciousness!!!

blaming the Dems for much of the economic crisis, and pointing out the hypocrisy of the ticket's gay rights/marriage policy. The thing with satire is that it is generally about picking apart surface flaws and the idiocy, when you try to make jokes about policy it gets tricky. It is the problem the Daily Show runs into when it gets too preachy, like the recent segments about Bristol Palin's ability to make a 'choice' regarding her pregnancy. Going after policy issues comes across as spiteful and angry, which is really hard to do unless your name is Bill Hicks.
