#1 person in Hollywood I'd like to sit down and have a lunch with would be the fantastic Simon Pegg.

I lol'd. Evidently the film won't be ending with Simon's character completely changing his ways then.

Does anyone have any clue what the 'something big' he's doing before Paul is? Could the rumour be true that Pegg and Nick Frost are playing the Thompson Twins in Spielberg's 'Tintin'?

Come to think of it, Pegg does share a passing resemblance to Tintin himself... Tintin: http://tinyurl.com/456mfl Simon: http://tinyurl.com/5cggm7 Hmmm.

However the character of Tintin has already been cast. Thomas Sangster (aka the kid from Love Actually) is playing him, despite not looking anything like Tintin.
This won't matter though as the film is going to be mo-cap. And so this will allow Pegg and Nick Frost to play the twins.

All this is pure speculation of course, and I'm sure some non-European is currently getting ready to tell me nobody cares about Tintin.

He didn't say "Fuck, she can act!"

He actually said "Act?! She can Fuck."

as he seems so sincere in the love and enjoyment of his craft.

And I'm sure keeping his mates around keeps him grounded.

Here's hoping he'll stay gold and retire long before he develops an inflated ego.

He says hes going to work with a filmmaker he respects enormously, he said it was a short amount of work, and that it was more than one film...he's going to be in Tin Tin...

It does all add up doesn't it. And as you rightly point out he said it's more than one film, which if it is Tintin then this means Spielberg and Jackson are shooting their respective films at the same time. Which in turn means that the recent story about the 130 million dollar budget was for making 2 films (or maybe 3?) Which in turn means it wasn't as insane a budget as it first sounded.

Which in turn means I've written 'which in turn' too many times.

Could that potentially be the film before Paul that Pegg mentioned? I know the way he talked about the director implied it was someone with whom he hadn't worked before, but he could have been being deliberately deceitful about it. We know it's planned. We also now know, since the last Jonathan Ross show, what genre it is, since Ross guessed and you could tell from Pegg's reaction that it was correct (even though he had refused to reveal it). The answer, sci-fi, wouldn't have been difficult for anyone to guess, I don't think. The hype and build-up for that are going to be immense, for various obvious reasons. Can't wait...

Much as I love Pegg, Chris Barrie IS Arnold Judas Rimmer. I don't think he could ever be effectively replaced in that role.

MAYBE Kevin Smith, in a sense, but honestly, I think Pegg takes the cake. this is a guy who is really just one of us, albeit a bit smarter, and a good bit funnier.

kudos to him and his success, and I have to say, he's the only reason I'm gonna see Star Trek opening weekend. (not because I think it's a bad idea, I've never seen much of the original, I'm just not that excited...but I'll see anything Pegg does, and as early as possible, at that)

'"He came on set one day, insulted Bob and was asked to leave"... ... Surely demanded a follow-up question..?!'

Given the title and tone of the movie, it was probably a joke. Pegg's delivery probably made it obvious and that's why it was left at that.
