It was my first purchase as a human being, a 20 dollar VHS copy that i still have. I've seen the movie well over 100 times on tape and TV. Seen it twice in the theater, once when I was six, and again in Columbus for a midnight show in 2004. I think part 2 is strangely unwatchable and I am looking forward to this sequel if Billy is enthusiastic for it. This is one sequel I will definitely pay to see done right.

GHOSTBUSTERS was my favourite film when I was a kid. And it pains me to think that Rogen, Carell and Rudd might be in GHOSTBUSTERS 3. Fucking pains me.

BTW, I loved GHOSTBUSTERS 2 the first time I saw it at the cinema in December 1989 when I was 7! Now - I just think it's alright.

The sarcasm. There is a 'tone' of sarcasm throughout the original Ghostbusters movie, and it is very much the tone that Murray and Aykroyd brought with them from their SNL days. Writers for Ghostbusters 3, I know you're reading these talkbacks. Get the sarcastic tone of the humour right. Everything else will fall into place.

Considering the only excitement he's shown so far is "I'll do it only if they kill me off" I think this is a big step up. He wasn't jumping out of his seat, but he wasn't giving a sarcastic or dodgy answer. He was very straightforward about being open to it and him singing the theme song in the street is what really sells me on him being down for it. Damn it, Sherm! Don't ruin my dream!

No More 'Pass The Torch' Films - Let the Old Guys Do It!

I'm tired of the tired 'pass the torch' films where the old guys pass on their roles to younger people. They should keep the effects to a minimal level and keep it as real as possible. I believe that's what made the first one sooo funny. First it put ghosts in everyday situations, nothing too fantastic until the end. The story was about these average scientists in a fantastic situation.

I think it could be even more funny now with the angle that they're older and the ghost keep coming. How do you keep up? What's the point if you can't stop them from coming? It could actually be a very funny and touching end. Tie in the fact that they too are nearing the ectoplasm paranormal side.

The Office writers are perfect to bring realism and absurdity to this script.

I'm excited, but I won't lie, I'm a little scared too. I really hope it doesn't fall flat, but hey, there's always the first one.

Ghostbusters 3 Dream Casting?
by loserguy3000
Sep 26th, 2008
07:50:56 AM
Now, I'm not usually into fantasy dream casting for any movie, but for whatever reason I just can't get a particular idea out of my head...

IF you're going to retread something as great as Ghostbusters, why not just repeat the methodology they used to pick the new crew? As much as I'd love to see the old guys back up, I'd also like a new franchise and it could be done.

So my brain is telling me...pick a set of popular, edgy but accessible comedians who've worked well together and would again. For me, they be the most obvious of choices:

Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson, and whoever else. Throw Will Ferrell in there if you want to. Can you imagine these guys hunting ghosts, and Wilson just looks up saying "Are you serious?"

Yeah, lame...but its my thought...

Maybe not as the main theme of the movie, but something interesting to touch on would be the fact that with their advancing age, the Ghostbusters might start to wonder if they themselves will spend part of their afterlife as pesky poltergeists. How would that affect their feelings about trapping and containing ghosts?

Ghostbusters is perhaps the greatest film ever made. Fact. Everything from within the film stands today against any other film you can mention? Special effects, check. Acticng chops, check. Script, check, directing, check, anythin else, check motherfucker! Perhaps the greatest thing about it is that Bill Murray was 2nd choice. That's right Aquatic lovers, he was 2nd choice! And as such he played it as though it was his break. And it was, in a way. The problem now is that he's a big shot, bigger than the other busters. Venkman is his characters, the best loved and therefor the biggest draw. He wont acknowledge Venkman was the 3rd rated character in the script. He will want Venkman to be the man (which he was!). And that's why GB3 will fail. You either get fanboy's wet dream of Ackroyd, Ramis, Murray and Hudson. Or you get the studio's Murray's Venkman is the lead VS ghosts in a Seth Rogen (who) scripted and starring comedy directed by Rudd (who??). Pineapple express and Superbad DO NOT FIT Ghostbusters. Get Ramis and Ackroyd together and tell Murray he NEEDS this film! :)

The years between 1 and 2 brought a popular cartoon show, and I think the producers made a mistake by incorporating kid-friendly sensibilities into the sequel. One of the more notable changes was Janine's look -- she went from stuffy brunette librarian to red-haired maniac (as in the cartoon).
Bill Murray - a true gentleman
by ArcadianDS

10:26:32 AM
Bill Murray always struck me as the guy who showed up to a movie set to be cast a background extra, and just never went home. Eventually someone said, "hey where's our leading man for this movie?" and he said, "well I wasn't doing anything. Can I stand in today?" and the rest becomes fake-history.

I was able to get an autograph by barging onto a taping of a golf show (he would golf with his brothers and just be Bill Murray). You'd think I would have been tackled by some bodyguard and thrown into a lake on hole 7, but no - they were more than gracious and signed a hat for me. Then, of course, a few fellows made it clear that I should go away now - quickly and quietly.

which I did. They weren't tiny fellas. Anyway - we dont need a Ghostbusters III. What we need is a Stripes II.

re: Brody77 - Wounds of GHOSTBUSTERS II
by NivekJ
Sep 26th, 2008
10:39:59 AM
Compared to the original, Ghostbusters II is a train wreck, albeit a financially successful one. It undoes every triumph of the first, on screen and off screen, and completely focuses on set pieces, no matter how detrimental it was to the characters. Every last one of them in the beginning of GB2 were LOSERS. Down on their luck, defeated, and marginalized. You could say they were even worse off than before the start of GB1. The fuckin' cartoon showed how viable a continuing fight against the paranormal could be. JMS (Bab 5) wrote episodes that rivaled the first film, let alone beat the shit out of part 2! Ackroyd and Ramis reset the characters out of laziness, so they could virtually remake the team buildup of the first movie. Dana is apart from Venkman so they can fall in love all over again, when the script really works if that was Peter's son all along. Reitman allowed this farce to happen so he could make lots of money easily - he's directed so many of those same beats before, he might as well have been on auto-pilot. Ramis already showed he's a better wielder of Murray's talents on Groundhog Day, which is much more of a spiritual sequel to Ghostbusters, or any other Murray-Ramis-Reitman teamup. Columbia was going to make fistfuls of money no matter what kind of shit they flung on screen. Ditto for any other franchise in the 80s, 90s, and today. It's up to the fans to scream "you fucked up" and that didn't start happening until I dare say five years ago. Even Lethal 4 and Beverly Hills Cop III got a pass. Now, Live Free and Indy IV get the shit beat out of them. What chance does GB3 stand UNLESS they go back to the irreverential, gutsy, character-driven approach of the original, not the Bobby Brown-pink slime-everyone in New York forgot that ghosts exist-bullshit of part 2. When I was a kid, I loved it but even then something didn't feel right. Not when my favorite film AND cartoon heroes are suddenly downtrodden, and untrusted. Not when the life lesson is that heroism and intelligence is all for nothing in the end. Not when the story structure is so similar to the first, that subliminally you're left unsatisfied with what is essentially a re-quel. Bring on GB3, bring on the game. Even Extreme GB was a step up from part 2! So, in response to Brody 77, what wounds? All you gotta do in just pop in the tape and take a look for yourself. That, and Wikipedia. Signing off.

As it happens, I got an emulator that let me replay the game on my PC a few years back, and after about half an hour of blissful nostalgia I got to the end, got my guys through without much real difficulty, finished the game and was left disappointed at how quickly and easily I'd completed it.

Having the strange fate to have seen a lot of sequels to great 80's movies before the original films, I had no preconcieved notions of what the series were supposed to be, and I can objectively state that Ghostbusters 2 was basically as good as Ghostbusters 1. I don't know what Murray is talking about. So what if it was affected by the cartoon? The Real Ghostbusters has to be the most intelligent saturday morning cartoon show ever made.

Well said. I've seen both films many, many times, and now my kids watch it when we're tooling around town in our minivan. Just from listening to the two films, part two is sorely lacking in the creative department. Where the first film had crackling dialogue, the second film has a scene where Ramis and Aykroyd discuss WHAT TO HAVE FOR DINNER! The only funny/inspired part of Ghostbuster II is when Annie Potts and Rick Moranis get together.

"ghostbusters 2" fell into the same trap "the phantom menace" fell into.

Ghostbusters 1 and Star Wars were films aimed at adults that kids ended up loving just as much. So for the sequels they figured "kids love these movies, so lets make them kids movies!" and in turn they ruin the franchice with ridiculous scenes.

(come on, the last shot of the painting in GB2, when all of a sudden it's changed into the ghostbusters in togas? what guy anywhere thought that was a good idea? and slime making the statue of libery walk around?)

heres hoping they dont try to aim this movie toward "a new generation of children that will love ghostbusters as much as kids did in the eighties!"

just make a good movie and you'll satisfy the fanboys... and kids will still like it...they're fucking kids.. they're not that hard to please.

. . . and it is written just PERFECT. I suggest Vince Vaugh, Jone Favreau, and Jason Schwartzman. I'm getting a bit tired of Seth Rogen, but if he actually showed some range and didn't play the same character he's played in every film, I wouldn't object. And only because its The Office writers, they better keep fucking Rain Wilson the hell away from it.
Regarding Murray and Ghosbusters 3

Honestly, I'd really only want to see a Ghostbusters 3 if the original gang (Murray, Ramis, Aykroyd, and Hudson) were the main cast (not having a younger cast come in where Murray and friends are just briefly there to 'mentor' them). It would be cool if Weaver and Moranis could make it back, too. But I imagine they want to try to bring in a younger crew, and I'm just not really interested in that. I wouldn't be surprised if Murray is pretty much just a cameo if Ghostbusters 3 happens - "Whatever you do, don't go near the Statue of Liberty - bad things will happen."

...is that, in recent memory, murray seems to be the only one left with any kind of formidable comic chops. akroyd hasn't been funny since he did driving miss daisy. i hate the cliche of juxtaposing new, younger actors with the original cast simply to bridge some kind of percieved generation gap, but then I think of someone like paul rudd riffing in a ghostbusters uniform and i'm sold.

I see the fallout from GB2 vs. GB1 as the same as later similar franchise disappointments. The studio wants to use the show to keep the excitement alive, sell "the brand" etc, and this miss the real audience who appreciates the film and its merits because they instead focus on the target audience for merchandizing. When I have gone back and watched GB2 with this in mind, it seems obvious to me that there was at one point in the development process a pretty good story in there somewhere. What made it to the screen aimed lower at the audience's sense of humor, simplified the plot and other contrivances to make it be marketable as toys and completely froze real character development or any clever things that might challenge the audience. The studio didn't trust the writers enough to learn *why* ghostbusters was popular. ( or since it was Ramis and Aykroyd, maybe they didn't trust themself on the direction to go here and just wanted to do what was "safe"... I guarantee they regret doing that )

If they are going to bring back something like this, they need to turn to somebody like Del Toro, who gave us the best thing we could hope for since Ghostbusters in Hellboy. I think having him involved would churn out a great film and revitalize the franchise. But alas, he is busy trying to make Newline a assload of money with THE HOBBIT

• They gloss over the events of GB2.

• The GBs are still in business, but in a different capacity. Venkman never gets his hands dirty anymore as CEO. Spengler heads up the research wing. Stantz and Zeddemore head up training and lead away teams.

• Explain the reason for all that supernatural activity to take place in NYC as opposed to elsewhere.

• Explain why Dana Barrett was targeted twice. (Ancient family curse?)

• Explain the spirit plane and why there is this breach.

• Work the new characters in subtly. I'm not opposed to Seth Rogen, but he'd have to reel it in a bit to fit into a structured role.

• NEW EQUIPMENT. Maybe a more refined, smaller, streamlined look for the proton packs. (Spengler has always been depicted as more function over form. Give him someone to help clean up and make the operation pretty.)

Truthfully, I'd prefer the franchise to continue in animated form a la RGB, but if they MUST do another feature film... it's their choice, not mine. LOL

Yes...Venkman 'dies' in the first 10 mins...but not BEFORE he is possessed by the eventual "bad guy" ghost...who makes off with Venkman's 'soul'...while the exterior of the ghost maintains the Venkman exterior.

This way, Murray is still IN the whole movie, but not in every damn scene...And Ramis & Ackroyd have to assemble the "new GB team" to help them get Venkman's soul back.

We follow "the new team' on their first tentative missions, with Ernie Hudson showing them the ropes...while Ray & Egon are back at the lab trying to build something that will extract Venkman from the bad ghost. I could even see a scene where Venkman "visits" Ray & Egon as a 'spectre'...and talks about how it aint so bad bein a ghost...and maybe they shouldn't have been so hard on all the ghosts they've busted over the years....when, suddenly the "bad ghost" takes back over Venkman's form, etc.

Meanwhile...the "new team" is out having all new problems, with all new 'bustin' effects out in the field....makin a mess of things just like the original team. With Ernie Hudson rollin his eyes in disbelief.

I dunno...cast Borat as "The Soul Catcher"...and with each NY city soul he captures...he grows in size and intensity...to where by the end of the movie...he's Stay Puft size...so we don't have to bring The Statue of Liberty back to life again! (Rolls eyes)...

I could see them casting John Krasinski (Jim) from The Office as one new GB...(if you people are so opposed to the Apatow crew!)...Will Ferrell...Jack Black...The pyro dude from Tropic Thunder...There's a ton of people who would make excellent Ghostbusters.

Anyways...the new group joins the old group for a final battle with the big baddie...Egon & Ray click on their "doomsday device"...but it doesn't work...Causing Ray, Egon & Stanz to get absorbed into the ghost...and the new idiots figure out what's wrong...save the day...save the original 4 Ghostbusters....and the torch is passed right there. The OG Ghostbusters decide it's time to hang up the proton packs and leave it to the young guys.

Set yourself up for the next sequel with just the new guys...thus propelling the franchise forward.

But I'll still be bummed if Annie Potts, Rick Moranis. Sigourney Weaver and Ivan Reitman don't have a hand in this somewhere.

Vigo the Carpathian was badass. "On a mountain of skulls, in a castle of pain, I sat on a throne of blood" He was so over the top with the evilness, like Rasputin and Vlad Tepes and Hitler rolled into one. So what if he wasn't a vague primordial god like the villain of the first one. He was so evil he was actually hilarious. It felt as if they reached a little too far with Gozer. There are so many stories of unexplained deaths and supernatural happenings associated with New York and they went with a made-up babylonian demon? Seriously,if you erased your memory of the films and watched GB2 first, you'd realize they're both good movies.

Dan Ackroyd has been MIA for years, and Bill Murray has been doing his serious, quality films (but not nearly enough of them lately)so to see them doing a goofy quality comedy again would be the shit.

I think one of Murray's great preformances is in Rushmore. It is one of the dryest comedic creations.

Just as Indiana Jones failed to live up to expectations, I see this turning up the same way.

You mean to tell me that ghosts can fly all over the city, an interdimensional portal opens over a New York highrise, a gigantic creature made out of marshmallows bounds around Manhattan, and everybody FORGETS about it?! And the heroes that saved the world, scratch that - our DIMENSION, are reduced to pathetic nobodies? What - where Ackroyd and Ramis foretelling their own fate? Did Ackroyd know that "Nothing But Trouble" was going to kill his career? It was a re-quel, narrative laziness at the highest level. "Call it luck, call it karma," but GB2 dismantled what was once the hottest franchise around. You could put the Ghostbusters logo on ANYTHING, and it would sell. The only logos more recognizable were McDonald's, Coca-Cola, the Mickey Mouse head, the Bat-Logo, and the cross. Show a GB logo at Hot Topic; a teen would have no idea what that is, unless he watched Extreme GB whe he was 5. That's brand deprecation. That's the legacy of Ghostbusters 2. "Who ya gonna call? you guys are suggesting like 15 Venkmans...you can't have every sarcastic funny guy in the parts, they would step on each other. for the Venkman type guy, I think Bateman would be the best choice, except that he's pushing 40, and so is Arnett. plus, I don't buy Bateman as sort of a player...I'd go with Topher Grace. he can do weird humor just fine. he's not the uber-stud, ryan reynolds type. but in the right role I would believe he could get the girl if they play it up. just like Murray was never a prety boy, but you saw the charm.

for the Ray Stantz role, you go with someone who's not ultra-nerd, but just a little off and super obsessed with the paranormal, like Akroyd played him. I suggest Masi Oka. he can do the exasperated nerd thing, but he can do cool enough that you buy him as the middle ground between the Venkman character and the Spengler character.

for the Spengler character, you gotta get someone that can do off the charts nerdy, but with a good comedic sensibility. I suggest John Hodgman (also known as the "I'm a PC" guy). he's been on the daily show, he has GREAT timing, and who wouldn't buy him as the ultra nerd?

for the wild card Ernie Hudson role, go with Romany Malco. he's funny as hell, and would be a great character to bounce off the other guys.

Jake Gyllenhall for Ray Stantz!

Murray now seems to be on board along with the rest of the cast. I'm pretty sure Weaver would be enthusiatic about a film sequel too. Only problem might be Moranis but I'm sure they'll be able to get him out of retirement for what is a legendary cast reunion. A recast is out of the question - it's the original Ghostbusters or nothing.

I have to say I hate the idea of them training new recruits (we saw that in the first film with Winston). Maybe the best way to introduce new cast members is to have a rival Ghostbusting company trying to put the originals out of business.

I saw GB2 in the theatres when i was a kid, and that line in the beginning started the movie out on a bad note. I remember even as a kid realizing how out of touch the movie was right away, because He-Man hadnt been popular for at least 4 years at that point when the movie came out.

(the he-man cartoon aired between '83-'85, GB2 came out in '89.. so it wasnt like they were just a little off because of post production. The toys were also way out of style by then.)

I'm just saying, if you're gonna ruin a cool franchise by aiming it to kids..try not to alienate the kids in the first 10 minutes of the movie.

Stop thinking comedians, it's not like they come up with the jokes, they read em off of a script and preform them.

Think actors who can get asses in the seat. I'll take Denis Leary Preformed Quips over anything the Apatow Crew can come up with. Samuel L. Jackson playing off of him in Angry Black Man mode. Kurt Russell as the Leader of this other Busting Gang, and that Swardson guy as the kinda gay receptionist- Who got the job because he's the Nephew of Learys character. Fuck the Apatow Crew. This is better and you fucking know it! Imagine any 3-4 Apatow setup against these 3 guys and you know who's getting bitch slapped.

Actually the rival Ghostbusting team got me thinking of other things they should cover in a new Ghostbusters story:

Ghostbusting protests - it'll be interesting to see how people will react to busting the ghosts of recently deceased loved ones. How would people feel if they knew a grandparent was locked up in a containment unit?

It'd also be cool to see them concentrate more on business rather than saving the world. Stuff like releasing ghosts after they have been caught so they can be paid to catch them again.

I think Ghostbusters is one series with lots that can be potentially explored.

The first GB was so mind-blowing for me that I bought all the merch (stickers, soundtrack, pins, posters, etc.). GB2 came out and I was happy that there was another GB, but sad that it didn't measure up to the first.

I'm not saying that GB2 sucked, but it didn't have the same emotional impact that the first one had. Watching it now, the fx are weak, and some of the background cast were too obvious, but the storyline and principal actors still pull it off.

I have owned every type of video that GB has come out on (save for BluRay), and will look forward to having GB3 in my collection soon enough.

One last thing:

I don't think that it's a good idea to have the Apatow crew behind this (or the Office crew for that matter). If I may be so bold, I think that the script needs some gravitas from someone who understands action, comedy and ensemble films (not TV), and can bring ther horror element that made GB the classic that it is.

My dream would be for the Coen Bros to assist in writing, maybe with Neil Marshall. Perhaps Penn/Hayter. Or Rodriguez. Whoever it turns out to be, it better be good enough to leave a (good) lasting impression in our minds for days after, and not be a schlocky snoozefest, or I'm gonna leave this sleepy little town and hunt down those responsible...AND MAKE THEM PAY!!!

Because I can totally see that happening, GB3 being new cast and Stantz, Venkman etc. just being ghosts they keep in the basement or something (actually that's not TOO bad an idea). Ghostbusters In Hell still sounds like something they should do IMO. And it should be a character comedy first and foremost, like what Murray talks about GB1 being. You can totally imagine the CGI guys going fucking crazy with the ghosts, but the actors being funny should be the focus. A comedy with SOME effects shots.

Ok here it is. You have a competing group who also offers a Ghostbusting service. We see them crashing in on a bust the original guys. When they arrive at a museum to eliminate a ghost that arrived in a artifact shipment.

A fights break out, and Peter suffers a heart attack. He has an NDE.

Dana appears to him as a guide to the afterlife(She died a few years back in a car accident) She offers him her hand. He takes it. They travel through the tunnel towards the light. Suddenly the tunnel start to shrink, and the light at the end flashes. Zulu appears behind them. Peter: What's going on?

She must of found us. I'm not just a guide I'm also your protector to reach the gates of the afterlife. We have to hurry. Hurry how we are floating. It's not like I can run. Dana Look at the light think happy thoughts.

Suddenly Peter gets shocked. We see a strong blue hued strobe pulse race down the tunnels darkness pulling Peter and Dana away from the light. Peter screams as they race towards Zulu- Zulu grabs at Peters her hands pass through him. She grabs Dana instead.

Peters shocked again, the electric blue strobe illuminates the entire screen we see Peter revived in the back of an ambulance as they race for the hospital.

The pov cuts to a graveyard we zoom in on Dana's stone. A rotten hand comes out of the grave.

Peter wakes up in the hospital. Everyone is happy he's still alive. He nervously tells them that Zulu's back. That She possessed Dana again. We have to help her.

Ray tells Peter that Dana's been dead a long time that it's not possible.

Then you move on from there. I can think of things. The other busters out there are a danger to Zulu or Zulu makes short work of them. But this fact must stay fixed. Zulu in Dana body is not as much of a threat as she was in the original. She's staying inside Dana and slowly restoring herself and Dana psychical form. And how does she do this. She Eats other ghosts. Could she be killing people first and then eating their spirits when they leave. I don't know. But theres an angle there and each time she does it she restores her body a little further. After all our busters know that Dana is in fact walking dead and killing people---

Egon digs something up. He finds a book that talks about a previous incident where shamans called a powerful spirit from beyond the grave into their kings dead body. The body came back to life and it spent the next few days attacking and killing people consuming their spirits. The shamans used (unreadable) method to drive the spirit out of the kings body. And the King was restored to self and alive once more. The plan now is Get Zulu out of Dana and save her somehow.

Egon digs something up. He finds a book that talks about a previous incident where Shamans called a powerful spirit from beyond the grave into their Kings dead body. The body came back to life and it spent the next few days attacking and killing people consuming their spirits. The Shamans used and (unreadable) method to drive the spirit out of the kings body. And the King was restored to his original self and was alive once more.

So the buster agree to let Dana's body get a little more fresh before they try to kill Zulu and save her.

So the original GBs are retired and with their paranormal expertize/theories proven, they are back in academia, teaching as respected professors. A group of their graduate students or junior professors finds out that some supernatural shit is going down and pull the old guys back into it. Or maybe just Stanz is now teaching, Spengler is the rich owner of a tech company, and Venkman is still being crazy - hosting a TV show or writing books about the Ghostbusters...

The FIRST film had *much* dodgier effects work. For 1989, GB2 was pretty state-of-the-art, and it holds up beautifully today.

I'm intrigued what curve Murray is grading on. As for GB2, he's clear what's wrong with it, it got storyboarded around special effects rather than developing the characters, thus it felt forced. I haven't seen it in a long time but I have no doubt it would seem better than I remember because the bar has been lowered so much by recent films.

..there's the sequel to Knocked Up and the third Ghostbusters in one movie. Seth Rogan decides to leave Katherine Heigel and baby behind, after he learns his fathers (Harold Ramis!!) old occupation was a Ghostbuster, and there be some ghosts hauntin around New York. Father and son working together. Bam!!
Lets hope Seth Rogan doesn't come in this....

considering his erudite take on the Ghostbusters. Granted, their hands were tied by the bowdlerizing rules of Saturday morning toons, but he definately added to the mythos.

Yes, Ghostbusters 2 isn't as good as the original - no-one's arguing THAT. But the reason it works is becuase the reason we really wanted a sequel was not because of the special effects but because of the characters. Ghostbusters 2 has more good moments than most big hollywood summer films do these days. Sure there are some cheap moves in GB" but they are all NEW cheap moves. And just as there's always room for more Jell-O, there's always room for more Ghostbusters. Bring on a third.

Jesus dude, please don't use terms you don't understand to try to sound knowledgeable! "Storyboarded around special effects" indeed!!

Try "The story/script/director's attention was centred around the special effects" instead - & it's actually visual effects; special effects are things like cars flipping and bullet hits - practical physical things but seeing as the catch-all term was more prevalent then I'll go easy on ya, youngster. Storyboards generally ARE used mainly for effects sequences, action sequences and things other than talking heads where you can't glean what you'll need just by looking at a script and therefore need to plan visually and in advance. You can have a film that has great visuals but neglects the story, but it's not a storyboarding thing per se. Happy to help!

As for my 2c, I remember seeing GB1 as a kid and thinking it was O.K. and that the hype was overwhelming (we'd just had Jedi and they went all out to top it), and being really underwhelmed (in the days before "meh") even as a non-critical youngster. I liked Terminator and Gremlins much more, but it's all subjective, eh? More of an 'older' Murray fan myself (aside from wife-beating natch)... Good on all you guys who loved it though. I might check it out again...

Extreme Ghostbusters has already set up the premise for GhostBusters 3. Just play it in that way. Egon is teaching the new recruits. Runs into a problem and needs the old team back.

abc interviewed him on the sideline during the arkansas-texas game today. he commented on how he was in town for some sci-fi type movie convention (fantastic fest) and said something along the lines of "i had to talk to all these weirdos" thought it was funny that you all are saying how nice he is when he probably hates having to deal with dumb questions about gb3.

You made a mistake dude. I explained a bit (when the POINT is your OWN specificity was wrong/misguided/ignorant - how YOU can call me on that is beyond me) and tried to be helpful. Man up and admit you goofed! It won't hurt (people actually respect it). As far as being pedantic, are you joking about the song being 40 mins in, or are YOU that anal yourself that you'd know something like that?

God forbid you'd actually be grateful for some friendly (but yeah, mildly chiding I guess) advice! And guess what? It's a MOVIE site!

Settle down dude. Do you know LESS than you did before or more?

You know, I'll be extremely surprised if Hudson agrees to do this movie. He was in the first episode of Celebrity Paranormal Project on VH1, and his experience there seemed to really freak him out. I remember thinking it ironic that a former Ghostbuster (fictional or not) would be so terrified after a real paranormal investigation, and he was probably thinking along similar lines before he agreed to do it. So, yeah, I'll be surprised. I mean, if I was attacked by a shark I certainly wouldn't want to have a starring role in a Jaws sequel. Hell, I wouldn't even want to be a grip on that film.

That's like being in the middle of the desert and getting bit by a rattlesnake. You still have to go back through the desert to get to a hospital. If you're freaked by a ghost, you simply don't go in the damned haunted house again. Or in the case of a shark, stay the hell away from the ocean. Pretty simple, really. DJAM had no choice but to be airlifted if he wanted to live.

I was more concentrating on your thing of "not wanting to". BTW the other guy's burns weren't as bad so he DID refuse an airlift apparently & went by car. Of course that all seems small considering they did survive. The other 4 didn't.
