what ever happened to the supposed "crossover" between British Office and American Office that was to happen? And while in many people's opinon's the British (original) version is better I think the American version is more fun and less meanspirited, call me a wuss but I always get a little uncomfortable when things get r eal mean, don't find it funny, but that's just me

This is ridiculous, every talkback gets highjacked by Supernatural. How about letting us have our own little thing instead of wasting it on shows we're probably never going to watch. I'm looking at you Gary Unmarried. It's one of the best shows period. By the way glad The Office is back.

Amy Ryan is like Jenna Fischer's Pam in that you feel like you could possibly meet a person like that and have a chance with them. Unlike many TV babes who are so hot they seem untouchable.

Oh, and "season-ending make-out session"? Um, that was not making out. That was what was once referred to on television as "doing it".

She's been fairly prominent in NBC's advertising, but maybe they're just trying to make us think she's staying. What's wrong with a new character once in a while? Andy's still around. But maybe that just means Toby will return.

I tend to agree that last season was the weakest of the 3 full seasons, but I'm willing to give it a mulligan due to the fact that it was strike shortened, and I'm sure there was a lot of character development stuff that had to get axed.

Granted, you have to take 'The Office' with a grain of salt in terms of people's actions, but if Ryan is not in jail then has anyone heard how they are going to make him a regular part of the show? Even if the writer's come up with a demotion, why would this company continue to keep this guy around after being arrested for fraud? Even if some kind of magical aquittal is written into the show, the company would still never keep him around because of what it would do to their reputation.

but, I'm planning on forcing an Arrested Development movie into existence. It's complicated to explain, but I'm gonna go back in time five years ago and shoot my brother, as well as eat all of the junk food from Joss Whedon's fridge and, believe or not, this temporal-spatial paradox will cause great comedy to ensue. Watch Heroes, Tuesdays on NBC. You may not understand it now, but all of the above was completely on topic.

I envisioned a type of reverse Jim and Pam thing going on between her and Michael this season. She seems to actually him, and all their interaction is kinda cute. She would have to work to steal him away from his toxic relationship with Jan, just like Jim/Pam/Roy. So i hope she isn't leaving the show. I hate it when shows i like seem to be evolving, and then just take a step back and reset.

Thought the goatee was Michael's attempt to...
by billypilgrimisunstuck

..look like Tony Stark. Michael saw Iron Man a month after a came out, where he really should have been excited for the Dark Knight. Behind on the times, he grows a goatee to fit in. I LOVED that idea and thought that was it when they didn't mention it, then they had to go on and ruin it by explaining it. Other than that, GREAT premier. I laughed numerous times outloud. The Jim and Pam thing was unexpected, and made me genuinely smile, Ryan and Tobey's return is more than welcome, and it had more of a documentary feel to it (no cold opening, not as many talking heads); am i the only one who feels this way? Oh, and Amy Ryan HAS to stay on the show.

And yeah, the goatee popping in and out all episode was off-putting. I know the show's supposed to look like a doc so continuity doesn't have to be perfect, but man, that was distracting. Especially since the gag with Ryan wasn't all that funny.

Just saw it in the context that this was the first time we ever saw the office during the summer. is funny and pathetic. The cornerstones of Office comedy. I have to say considering the opener was a parody of The Biggest Loser/Celebrity Fat Club, and Sunny's episode was a parody of America's Top Model, Sunny's was the funnier. Just sayin'

Yeah. I know he was copying Ryan. But they didn't mention that until maybe 10-15 minutes later. Started wondering why they would have him grow it. First thought it was a shout out to Gervais, then I thought of Stark. Then I chuckled to myself. Finally, I was disappointed, since the Ryan punchline wasnt as funny in my head.

Watch it again. Week 3, Michael's clean shaven. Week 4, Michael's goatee appears. Week 5, when Jim has lunch with Michael and Holly ( The 'dreadmill!'), Michael is clean shaven. Week 6 in the fat suit, the goatee is back. Week 7, he finally gets rid of it for good.

was really obvious and sloppy....

But the episode was GREAT.

the paging was funny (and if only Jenna would page me!!)

And the payoff for the mistaken assumption of retardeness was hilarious--though they could have kept that assumption in play for a lot longer and it would have been fine by me.

And leave it to Michael to screw up an almost suave moment--tearing up the tickets!

For once in American Sit-Com history, the writers of a show are taking a quirky, hilarious little bit and leaving it obscure. Anyone else would make Creed a feature player and beat the humour right out of him. Creed works solely because it is so unexpected when he shows up, and when he does, he's doing something so utterly ridiculous that you can't believe it. This show needs the same amount of creed. And more of Pam's tits.
