That is a very juicy tidbit. But the brilliance of this show is that, even though you can sort of call that a major spoiler, there are still 10 million more questions (When/why did Cylons create Caprica humans? When/why did humans/cyclons leave Earth? How did the Greek mythology enter into Caprica religion? Why the monotheistic cylons and what is their "plan"? etc)

It seems Aaron Douglas just blew the big revelation at the end of 4.11. Ah well, at least it's something we could have guessed, and we still don't what the fuck's going on or how that works with it being the Cylon homeworld. Obviously the human race isn't just made up of 12 models. Or will they say the human race is descended from the 12. Fuck it, I'm glad he said this because now we have more to talk about!

They followed Kara, who they weren't supposed to follow. They need to follow the Final Five to 'Earth' ('Earth' being where the 13th colony is, not where all the people originated from before going to Kobol)

Book recommendation: Stone Gods by Jeanette Winterson. Has some nice parallels to BSG. And lesbian robot sex!

I'm also wonder in whose scriptures does it say Earth is the Cylon homeworld? Do the Cylons have scriptures? If it's in the human scriptures, why hasn't someone said something yet? You'd think the human spiritual leaders would have mentioned "hey, that place we're trying to find, it's listed as the Cylon homeworld in the scriptures. Could this be a problem?" Or something like that.

there were some good episodes, but I'm starting to feel like most of the cliffhangers they set up in season one were put in without any definite plans of how to resolve them. It's still well written, but it's feeling like good writers are having to pull a lot out of their asses to make everything make sense.

...but these BSG cast members need to watch their mouths on these radio interviews. Between Douglas, Sackhoff, and the occassional gaff by Olmos...I'm surprised Moore doesn't issue the cast ball gags between season breaks.

That being said, it's an interesting revelation, if true. I'll be more concerned with it when the show makes its return.

...who have publicly commented on the show's finale. McDonnell, Bamber, Helfer, and Douglas have all attested to what they believe is a truly incredible series finish. McDonnell and Helfer have said that it was incredibly moving and made them want to revisit the series' beginning. Bamber (who is a staunch defender of the show and critic of SciFi's programming department) has also declared it to be a perfect piece of writing.

I'm certainly looking forward to the show's return, that's for damn sure.

It's a good thing he's already finished filming the series.

Anyway, that's not as big of a spoiler as it appears at first. That's really just part of the set up for the final ten episodes and something we'd learn in 4.11 anyway. It could have been worse, Aaron could have talked about the Lee/Adama gay incestual relationship twist.
Stringing this out...
by Unnatural
Sep 24th, 2008
11:12:19 PM
Giving us an episode a year is just a crappy way of stringing this out longer and longer. At this point, I don't really care about BSG. I will just wait for the DVDs and rent them. Had they played everything at once, I would have bought them. When it takes a calendar to figure out when things are on -- and you can't remember what happened in the last episode or even season -- it's time ot move on. Goodbye BSG -- see you at Netflicks.

11:34:22 PM
Just like in the original series? Granted the story on how they get there is completely different, but they're looking at the aftermath of the war on that planet... of course they may change the purpose of that war and all for the new series, but it's basically the same. IIRC It's in that episode that the "original" cylons are discussed in the old series. ( The "beings of light" also have the possibility of fitting into the new storyline since the final5 appeared illuminated to deanna, and IIRC starbuck talks about a burst of light when she is resurrected ) Meh... I'm trying to care so ... so.. much, but YOU, SciFi Channel, YOU have forced me to not give much of a shit because you delay the fraking end sooooo fraking long.

They realized they can sell more ads with split seasons, and they can run off and try and work in a whole prequel series they hadn't counted on in the mean time. They also realized that there's not one single show left on SciFi for anyone to watch once this show ends... ( maybe Eureka just for the sake of argument ) I'm sure they think they're being clever, but it's killing the audience.

OK... how can Cylons come from anywhere but Caprica because they bloody well invented them 50 years ago. Doesn't the prequel cover how the Cylons are created? In which case how could they be mentioned in the scriptures, supposedly written several thousand years ago. I haven't seen season 4 yet though. I know the cycle of time has to factor into it, but if someone events a toaster how can we read about cooked bread before that actually happens? Sounds like bollocks.

Also, before Cylon War II: The Next Generation, everyone thought Cylons WERE toasters, i.e. the chrome dome old skool model. Noone even conceived they were skinjobs, other than that there may have been some gory experiments as seen by young Adama in Razor. This is part of the build up of Season 1 - discovering who the skinjob Cyclons are. Therefore it would throw everything out of whack for me to think that skinjobs existed first, and humanity is decended from them. Everything is Humans > Create Toasters > Create Skinjobs.

I thought there was no way to tell the difference between a human and a human model cylon, right? So when he's saying they find cylon stuff all over "earth" doesnt that just mean they found robot cylon stuff? It would make sense that two groups of humans would design the same type of machine like that. It'll probably be some moral lesson in the end. The earth humans and earth cylons wiped each other out, so the colonial ones now have to learn to work together to prevent that from ever happening again (when the other group of cylons track them down).

I remember when Sci-Fi premied and there was hope for such a great channnel. Sure they played a lot of old sci-fi for a few years but then they started getting original series(Lex, Farscape Etc) and were doing so well. Then someone went insane. We started getting John Edwards 7 days a week. Then terrible reality shows. Now they show Wrestling and Ghost Hunters(IE grown men with broken electrical equipment being afraid of the dark). Man what happened. Only shows worth watching are BSG, Eureka(if you turn your brain off and just enjoy it as descent family television) and Doctor Who(If you don't just go online and download the episodes when they actually premier on the BBC)
