But given the short shrift given Claire last season it became obvious they either didn't really know what to do with her or they just had too much material with other characters to use her effectively. In Season 1 they spread it around pretty evenly but certain characters have started to become focused while others have not. They didn't really do much with Sawyer last season either, and Jinn and Sun only got used sparingly too. It's kinda become the Kate, Jack, Locke and Ben show with a bone tossed here and there. I still love it, it's great, but there's some really great actors and story possibilities getting left by the side of the road.

..in the cabin and he turned and saw Claire, and she had that half enigmatic smile and the light was soft and warm:at that moment she was as awesomely beautiful as she was at any other point in the show, yet a little scary at the same time, which just made her that much hotter. I'll miss her, and especially poor Charlie. That scene with Desmond: "I'm sorry brotheh..but no matter what I do....yer gonna die.." still chokes me up.

err Episilon....Christian is dead and he appeared with Claire and arron in Jacobs Shack. I would love if the lost writers did a death becomes her moment. a little like meryl streep after she falls down the stairs and her head is all backwards and she is all battered and bloody as if she was mauled by something after falling down a ravine, she left Aarron behind her and Aarron is found by Kate.

As a story twist I could have done without Kate for a year...I mean having something happen to her that caused her to mysteriously disappear for a season only to come back in the final year...all while Claire's story arc expanded and she took care of Aaron. Especially given her ties to Jack which barely got explored. Besides I'm pretty bored by the whole Kate "I love Jack, no, I love Sawyer, I'm a misunderstood bad girl, no, I'm a good girl at heart" routine. It's just become boring. And I agree with other -- Emilie was hot, hot, hot to look at.

Ok. Plane crash, survivors. People already on Island. Creepy types. Kidnap Children. Lead by ben Linus. Hates Charles Widmore. Who owns the Island. Ben very smart and lethal. Ben linus brought over a woman called Juliette Burke and had her husband killed. Burke is a fertillity doctor. After being a hostile juliette goes over to the suvivors side. Juliette Hates ben. For not letting her offf the island. to see her sister. Ben and the hostiles have access to the outside world. Oh and then there is john locke and richard alpert and time travel. Alpert can go back in time but we don know how yet and he was there for Locke's birth. Locke died but we dont know how. Desmond who loves Penny Widmore. Charles Widmore banished Desmond to the Island. Penny Used her fathers wealth to find Des. Des told Charlie he was going to die. and die he did. when Charlie discovered the Underwater station. ben sent michail to kill him. Des got out and charlies final message was not pennies boat. Locke kills naomi as he is handy with a knife. At the start of season 4, a team of 4 is dispatched to get ben linus off the island and to bring him to Charles widmore. Meanwhile one of the survivors, Micheal is reunited with his son walt. but has to pay a price. Infiltrate the freighter and blow it. the reason for this is ben doesnt want widmore to find out where the island. Widmore orchestrated the whole plane crash. and covered it up. Those who returned were called the oceanic 6. But they all had to agree to JOhn lockes request to lie about where they were and what happened. Ben always gets what he wants. he wanted julliete. she bonked goodwin. goodwin died. at Ana lucias hands. because ben wanted her to join the hostiles. michael killed Ana Lucia and Libby. Libby was in the wrong place at the wrong time. But we dont konw about libby. John locke commits suicide. and his buried under the name Jeremy Bentham. but things goet interesting Ben meets jack in the funeral home. All the suvivors end up working for ben. except Hurley. Saywer Vanished when the Island disappeared. The island is a time machine........owned by Widmore and Suns father Mr Paik.
they *are* the Dharma initiative
by ArcadianDS
Sep 22nd, 2008
09:26:48 AM
they are all Dharma employees, who, after 'the incident' all were forced to use the portal to get away from it - maybe the world somehow ended, so they used the island to go back. They all suffer from that 'time madness' but being on the island keeps them from actually dying from it (like the guy on the ship). Thats why so much of the show consisted of flashbacks - those were actually instances of people ping-ponging around in their own pasts, but were not aware of the ability to alter it. Desmond knows it can be altered. Anyway, they'll discover that the island has moved back in time again - prior to 'the incident' and they'll be instrumental in constructing Dharma in order to 're-learn' how to use the island's properties so they can avert some global disaster that forced them to use the portal in the first place.

People have speculated that Claire died when the house at the barracks exploded (same ep. when Alex died). I believe Sawyer found her alive in the backyard under some debris, but she was never the same after that. Soon after, she disappeared with Christian.

So's the whole show. I watched it for 3 seasons and then got sick of it. Seriously, there's was 2 year old crap that STILL hadn't been resolved. Then right when you think the writers forgot about it, they drag it back in only to DEEPEN the mystery instead of actually explain anything (for example: the roaring homicidal fog). I can live with this (after all, in real life how many times are things neatly explained to you?) but then when they finally get around to explaining it, it's so stupid it's like an afterthought ("oh, yeah, we never resolved that little thread... um, er, urm, gotta think of something quickly!"). So, as a result, you get two years of "what the hell was up with that polar bear?" and then 5 seconds of "the brought it to the island to be part of an experiment". I waited two years for THAT?!?!?!? Call me impatient, but what a waste of time.

The spoiler isn't dead, the spoiler is that she isn't in this season and she is in the next season. Now we know not to expect her this season, even if someone goes looking for her, we know they won't find her. We also know not to be surprised the next season when she comes back. It doesn't matter if she is dead or not. The hobbit died and came back, and telling me he would show up at Hurley's crazy house would have been spoilering.

the more I think about it, there were all these characters who could have had great storylines, but for whatever reason they put them on the backburner. Claire, Danielle, Michael & Walt. I think they got too obsessed with Ben. He's an okay character, but they spent way too much time on him and now all these other threads are just dropping off. Watch, I'll bet Sawyer will just fall asleep under a tree for a year.

07:37:51 AM
along the way, I believe they've had a general outline of where the show was going the whole time. I do think they have made some stuff as they go along, though. I think that their presentation of The Others was changed from "Savages" to "Sophisticates" from Season 2 to Season 3. And I don't have any idea why they had to change Locke's name for the Season 4 Finale, other than to just throw the audience off. I understand that he had to use a different name when he left the island, but why did Kate, Jack, Hurley, and Walt all use his fake name when talking to each other? The only reason to do this was to keep the audience in the dark until the final shot...

Killing Charlie was a no brainer. his flashbacks were the worst! he was better when he was strung out and lighting fires. i like him better in the flash forwards. i could only handle his character in small chunks at a time.As for Claire,i like her character. cheesy that Jack and her are siblings though. I can't see how they can wrap things up in 2 seasons. still lots of things up in the air. I still prefer LOST over Heroes. at least the creators have the balls to kill off major characters! nuff said.... peace be to all who seek it. namaste

Did they do that on purpose? Are we all in Hurley's head? If I may, I'd like to point out that she never explicitly confirms that she'll be gone from the show for the ENTIRETY of Season Five. De Ravin says, and I quote "Claire disappears for awhile." I would not be surprised to see a brief cameo in or around the season premiere or season finale. I really hope her heavily (ha!) rumored state of being preggers didn't seriously fuck up their 'grand scheme' for the final two (or three) seasons.
