I just finished watching it myself and was actually thinking it was a great transfer 'cause of the way they preserved the film grain. Way too many transfers go overboard with the glossing over. Say what you will, but that's a smart business move when you go for an international market. Hitting screens just under a year after the Beijing Olympics, the scene has the potential to have an incredible amount of resonance (depending on its execution, of course) with a global audience. Hopefully, part 2 will do a better job of teasing some of Steve Jablonsky's score before the release of the film. On top of this, Bay's crew has the potential to hint at a number of things within the framework of the world they've created (biological weapons based on microscopic life forms inadvertedly brought to Earth by the characters in part 1, Transformers speaking in multiple languages, visually "risky" vignettes from battles on other planets, etc). They could even fuse the Autobots' martial arts kata-like poses with some iconic images from sequential art (taking a hint from Sam Raimi in "Spiderman 1"). The question I have is this; if they plan to make this a 3-part series, then the protagonist must lose something in part 2. What could that be?

Among those talents, he looks to be one of Hollywood's best directors when it comes to logistics, raising capital, motivating staff above and below the line, executing the visuals that he plans, etc. Is it that his films are often weak in the areas you deem as most important, or are you not willing to recognize the things that they (with the exception of "Pearl Harbor") often do correctly?
