Titanic may have won hearts, minds and still reigns as box office king, but it captured two up and coming actors who are really showing off their stuff in recent work. I say good for US! This country deserves a better class of actor, and they are going to give it to us.

That name alone makes me want to see this. But I've even surprised myself with being totally psyched for this "Titanic reunion." It would be great if this got them both their overdue Oscars, especially Winslet.

Oh, you meant "crying" at the end of the movie. In that case, it would be "Bawling".

It really is phenomenal and everyone should read it. I think Richard Yates was the inspiration for that Seinfeld episode where George and Jerry go to meet Elaine's dad and are absolutely terrified of him.

Academy award winner Kathy Bates, Academy award nominee Kate Winslet and Academy Award overlooked Leonardo Dicaprio were on the Titanic, now watch them sink again in Academy Award winner Michael Mendes' Revolutionary Road, coming to a theatre near you. Until then, "Dont let go".

always seems to be trying too hard, especially in Road To Perdition. I never got why everyone went kaka over American Beauty, The Insider should have won that year IMO. Still, the Oscars usually get the Best Film completely wrong.

and I really dont think its a big deal or that it matters that its the first film winslet and dicario have been together since titanic. they're actors, and there's no reason to expect anything monumental because they're in another movie together

Poor choice of words. Mendes has a reputation as one of the industry's great delegators. That's arguably why he's been so successful.

I think he meant that by the end of the film, Leo DiCaprio, as well as the entire audience, had turned into rich sports stars that got lots of girls in clubs.

Glad to hear Sam Mendes is back. "Road to Perdition" is one of my all-time favorite films, though I didn't enjoy "Jarhead" as much as his first two features. That said, I can't wait for this new film.

Except if Leonardo and the audience are all ballin' by the end. I mean, Kate Winslet is a hottie, and I'd enjoy watching her get down "that way," but did Mendes go straight porn? If everyone's ballin, are there any real character moments? Did Mendes forsake art for sex? I mean, sometimes it happens...

For all we know, the ending is brilliant and your dumb feedback made them change it to something lame.

Just kidding. But seriously, they should be careful about who they let into test screenings. Can you imagine the feedback at the No Country For Old Men test screening? "I don't get the ending. I wanna see that guy with the moustache get shot. This is stoopid."

I'm so happy to read these reviews. I know things can change, and we won't know for sure until December, but this is wonderful. "Revolutionary Road" is the film I'm looking forward to most this year. Leo and Kate together. They're so excellent. So unique. I can't wait to see them and be stunned. Thanks for the reviews!

he said DiCaprio and Winslet outshone Newman and Taylor from "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof". I don't find that believable at all. But still I really like Sam Mendes, and the cast is talented so win for me then.

Finally a movie about a failed marriage in the 1950's! Uh and sorry Leo and Kate outshining Paul freaking Newman (young Newman at that) and pre bat-shit crazy Liz Taylor in material written by Tennessee Williams? Lets just say I'm dubious.

Don't believe the (obvious) hype, gents. I read the production script during shooting, which went on FOREVER, and it's a real letdown. You think it's going somewhere, but it doesn't. Literally. You'll know what I mean come Xmas. And Mendes isn't known for his dramaturgy, so I have doubts that it changed much on-set...
