They need to fire their entire programming division and try and hire some folks from FX and AMC, cuz this shit ain't working anymore and they're blind if they can't see that when everyone else in America can.

for the brother splattering on the pavement after a 44 story highdive? I'm thinking ... watermelon, maybe cantaloupe. Although I get the feeling what we'll really get is a shot of brother looking sadly backwards, silence, curtain flapping before an open window then some kind of sweeping elegaic strings as Anderson clutches a sobbing momma. Meh.

Hercules, did I dream it or did you not write a story a few years ago about HBO developing a series based around Richard Stark/Donald Westlake's Parker series? THAT was a great idea and there's enough source material to keep it going for at least three seasons before they have to start making stuff up on their lonesome.

The second richest person EVER marries his cousin. These people dominate around the same time of and using the mechanisms seen in the underrated "The Age of Innocence" as well as bust some union heads. In the end three (or four) of the children use their fortune to do well for themselves, the rest spend money so quickly it boggles the mind and the fortune is blown by the early 1900's.

. . . to get Aaron Brown's job. Brown was a tempered old-style newsman who tried to get into the underlying issues ala classic Koppel. AC is a talentless hypocrite who bashes other news shows for reporting fluff and then spends half the show on Britney and Lindsey. The only recompense is knowing that, due to contract, CNN to this day is still paying Brown a salary for a job he left 3 years ago.

That guy is a disgrace to journalism. I especially hate when he runs to the nearest hurricane (along with all the other gel boys and lens whores) just so he can shoot a standup in the high winds. Oooooooohh! The wind is whipping your rain poncho! How fucking original. All those asshole hurricane junkies need to get taken out live on the air by an uprooted tree. THAT would be must see TV.

During Katrina, that fucking tard Cooper was down the road from my house. If it wasn't for the fear or running over a live power line I wanted to drive by,get out of the car, and beat the fucking brakes off that poser. Whats the point? We know whats going on outside,we don't need some cock sucker standing outside just so that they can run back and brag about how they "rode the storm out". On another note, if HBO dosn't make that Preacher series soon, Showtime or someone else with some balls should do it proper.

HBO has been sitting on one of the best fantasy genre books for almost two years now. What gives? And I agree Preacher would be awesome. They have been all talk for a long time now. A Vanderbilt series could be good. But I wouldnt bet money on it seeing the light of day. Even if it goes into production this network has a horrific history of killing it's series for no good reason. They blame money. You're telling me that a company with 29+ million subscriber cannot handle a show budgeted at 4mil an episode? 48 million a season isn't even loose change to these guys. Instead we have to suffer through True Blood because Alan Ball is doing it? HBO, get some balls! Do something exciting! Take a risk. Or are you guys simply out to dupe subscribers into paying Time-Warner it's dividend money?
That's nice, HBO...

With this True Blood series starting soon, I would be really surprised if the Preacher ever gets made.

A Song of Fire and Ice would be incredible but I don't see why HBO would make that either. If they cut Deadwood because of the price of sets and costumes, than why make a fantasy epic that's all sets and costumes.

Herc, should I waste my time on True Blood?

Anderson Cooper: reduced to having to do a job he loves

he loves being a journalist. I dont know if he loved being the host for The Mole, but he's always been quoting as saying he really liked hosting the show.

And personally, I think our beloved author of this hear fansite blog update would shit his diapers if NBC called him tomorrow and said, "can you host the next season of The Mole please?" - hopefully he'll say no. Wouldn't want him 'reduced' to such a menial vocation.

"Diane, 1:25 in the afternoon. Just finished a refreshing session of intercourse with Dale's mother. Time was 27 minutes, 43 seconds, using my standard techniques taught to me in the hidden city of Nanda Parbat. Achieved sexual climax while my wife did not, despite saying otherwise. I'm now off to enjoy a fresh slice of leftover cherry pie while watching a rerun of SCRUBS on Comedy Central. Perhaps I'll become relaxed enough to fall asleep in my recliner and dream of that strange little woman from another place inserting unusual objects between her legs..."

HBO dead?

Yeah, fans of Preacher and A Song of Ice and Fire shouldn't hold their breathe. Not only do they have True Blood about to air, but they also just optioned Trent Reznors Year Zero. You will never see this network do two SciFi/Fantasy shows at the same time, let alone four. And you certainly will never see this network commit to multi-year runs of these expensive series. Look at the Sopranos, FOX was the network that actually developed and funded the pilot. When they got cold feet is when HBO stepped in and bought up a show already set up. The only show they did themselves and saw it all the way through was Six Feet Under, which they do deserve credit for. But they have 25-30 MILLION subscribers at any one time paying $15 a month! You do the math! Time Warner is sucking this network dry. How much do they reinvest back into their shows? Besides "The Pacific" this network is cheap as hell! HBO missed out on Dexter, Mad Men and countless other shows. The people running the network better get their act together, Showtime is kicking their butts and their subscription costs are cheaper.
