Sadly, though good...none of Coogan's work has lived up to Alan Partridge. Obviously he doesn't want to be typecasts and would like to do other things, but I know I'm not alone in being willing to donate a testicle for another series of Partridge. Americans, do a search for him on youtube this instant.

Steve Coogan craps on Gervais. NATM is the proof. More Coogan please, looking forward to this flick. GET YOUR FANNY OFF ME!

Did they ever release that in the US? That's another one of those obscure Coogan things that end up being brilliant.

He makes a movie a year and they're almost all great. And he doesn't repeat himself like most filmmakers do. It's something different every time. Everyone should be jealous of this guy's talent.

Good interview, Capone. Coogan is a demigod, and deserves as much attention as he can get.

Check out Coogans sketch show as well. And be amazed by the greatness that is Paul and Pauline Calf. Plus Gareth Cheeseman "You are a tiger! Grrrr!"

He's doing all the characters that we haven't seen for years. Even Partridge has been in his box for too long (hopefully the planned film will happen next year). Coogan is great when he has the writers to back him up. Like in Alan Partridge he had the great Armando Ianucci and Peter Baynham. I would love a final series of I'm Alan Partridge to round off the character. Have it so that Alan actually does achieve some success again, but only by accident or something.

Dan's a fantastic man. Referencing partridge and then seeing the look in another persons eye as they get the reference is one of the small joys in life.

Wasn't 'Lies & Alibies' American? Sure it wasn't very good, although Coogan had a couple of funny moments, but he was the lead...

Great read, Steve Coogan is hilarious! Hope he won't feel preassured to only do stupid US comedy.. there is smart US comedy too.

um, buttery rolls. Mmm. Ew. Okay, film 'critics' really should spell the word roles correctly, I should think. Love Coogan, btw. 24 Hour Party People was a masterpiece. From the opening bit with the Icarus joke, that was a great film. Tony Wilson lives! Also love his bit with Alfred Molina in Coffee and Cigarettes. I hope Coogan gets his American breakthrough.

How about a Tony Farrino movie Steve? As long as it's co written by Peter Baynham and Armando Iannucci rather than Henry Normal (Henry's never been your best writing companion I'm afraid)it could be a thing of greatness.
