Also I seem to remember the craven nature of the US Papers when Boy Bush launched his Great Iraq Adventure after 9/11, not questioning a single decision he took until much later, when it was too late, and then apologising for their lack of journalistic integrity; Washington Post, I'm looking at you in particular. At least most of the "broadsheets" in the UK asked questions about the WMD claims. As for the tabloids (The Telegraph is not a tabloid even if its politics aren't agreed with) they did what tabloids the world over do: spout sex and appeal to lowest, base instincts of its "readers".

Tabloids just make things up or put 2&2 together and get 5. It's also really irritating when they "report" film news from 3 months ago just to fill some space. Broadsheets are better, but they tend not to treat news about films and TV shows as "real news" so rarely check their facts properly and often make really basic mistakes. This kind of stuff is only reported in broadsheets in an effort to be popular. It's embarrassing how often broadsheets have tabloid-type stories and pictures on their front pages.
