I don't get why people would complain about writers and film lovers catching a break like this. The medium needs input from all angles, not just artists who have an expensive sheet of paper that says they're qualified. For all I know, Kraken and Quint have relevant formal qualifications, but none of that really matters. We should all be able to make a living out of our hobbies. Let's not whine about those who get the chance.

That concept art looks great and the tale has an air of vintage King to it and that's not bad thing in my book. I hope it all comes together.
Congrats Quint!

Nice job, boys. I now have an excuse to have another drink while I'm stuck here at Vancouver airport. This one's to you guys; can't waqit to be able to say "this movie will fuckin' SUCK!" after...you know... two stills and a 30 second trailer from youtube gets leaked to the 'nets :-) But seriously folks....coolest news I've heard all damn day. Presumably some production company is being solicited to fund this film. Shouldn't they be allowed to have a say in who does the VFX? I suspect this will be in turnaround for a while...

I had the privilege of meeting Mr.Morgan and Mr.Vespe and hearing about their project firsthand at ComicCon. I wish them the best of luck in its production! It is going to be quite the kickass flick. Kudos again on getting it off the ground!

A similar deal to bring Weta Workshop on board to provide support to the Steampunk movie Pygmalion (www.steamflick.com) was also struck at ComicCon. In fact, Greg Broadmore of Weta will be at the California Steampunk Convention in October (www.steampunkconvention.com) to talk about his Dr. Grordbort Ray Guns. The movie is being produced by the same people putting on the event. At ComicCon we scored a director, Pearry Teo (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm11 82611/), as well as Jim Steranko and Paul Gulacy for a graphic novel prequel. Plus we are just about set to bring in one alum each from X-Files and Buffy the Vampire Slayer to star. We'll be announcing in the trades next week.
