Wasn't that the David Bowie-led band from the late 80's, early 90's?
Oh yeah, it's wintertime in Australia.

But does it ever snow in Australia? And, if so, where? And, if so, is that the norm? On the average, what would the median winter temperature be for places such as Melbourne or Sydney?

I don't want WikiPedia to tell me. I want real, first-hand knowledge from real, 10th-generation Aussies. We could become penpals...and then I'll visit the Great Land of Oz...and find a wonderful Australian woman...and go to Ayers Rock...and...live happily ever after...

Would have been more clever if you'd typed "DIDN'T go" rather than "did go."
Trial was a farce?

Polanski drugged and anally raped a thirteen year old girl. Those facts are not under dispute, so while the trial may indeed have 'been a farce', any outcome that doesn't end with Polanski rotting in jail is far more of a true farce.
I never heard of Donald Trumbo either

I only know of Dalton Trumbo, writer of Johnny Got His Gun and Kubrick's Spartacus. Unless Latauro's joking and I fell for it, haha

(can I call you Lat-y or Lat-o, anything else would be unAustralian) for not liking The Fountain, thinking Insurrection is the most successful Star Trek film, and judging Meet Dave without even seeing it. Margaret & David would be so disappointed in you.

Oh, and you're a Melbournite - 'nuff said. ;)

in brisbane it **may** get down to 0c like once or twice a year. there are a couple of spots in oz where it snows, and there are mountains. but where the bulk of the population lives it rarely snows. good place to be homeless.

and i'm looking forward to 'the square'

Jonathan Violence: There actually is a Melbourne Underground Film Festival, and they joyously use the MUFF acronym.

Quentin: Fuck. I don't know why I wrote Donald. Cheers for calling me on it!

Seth: Extensive MILF coverage coming very soon.

Levon: Before the year is out! Filming has commenced. It's gonna be a good one.

Amy: Why do you think I don't like The Fountian? It was my number one film of its year. It's very likely going into my top ten. I love it to death. The Insurrection comment.. boy, did that ever get out of hand? I don't think it's one of the best films, not by a long shot (KHAAAAN!!!), but I do think it is the most successful in certain ways. But like I said at the time, it's a longer dicussion that needs a beer or two. And fair enough on me pre-judging Meet Dave, but I can't stand any of Eddie Murphy's films, and all the trailers and clips looked like balls to me. So, in some instances, I do feel justified in making the fun. More MIFF coverage soon!
you liked The Fountain?

my bad then. Thought it was you who wrote a scathing review of it way back when. Sorry if I got that wrong.

As for Insurrection - the only way that was successful was that it followed on First Contact's success. Very clever of them to put crap after something not so crap.

chipps - Thank You

...has 2 new projects to shoot back here in Oz! "Martin Gregory" starring Adrian Brody and a Horror called "Bait"! They both made the rebate scheme. Maybe do a follow up on that, and find what's going on with "Zen in the Art of Slaying Vampires". Apparently the creator/writer is suing the producers over something, which has held up production. I'm not an insider, I google for all of this!

I think I kind of agree. There's a lot of great character interaction going on there, even if the plot is stupid. They do a good job of making you feel like the crew is a family. That's what was good about Frakes as a director (Nimoy, too). They understood the crew interaction, because they were part of the crew.
