....Last week at Bestbuy(yes the 3 disc version). And this was the 1st time i watched it. It was a pretty good film. I was surprised by the fact at how normal it was. By that I mean it did not seem like a B-movie. It had no gore, very little nudity and it was not really over-the top. And even the acting was half way decent. It seems that Enzo was trying to make a legit war movie. So this is definitely a film for those who love The dirty dozen, force 10 and other war film from that era. The ending was a bit of a surprise as well.

I'd go. I've known Enzo for years, really enjoy a lot of his work. I wish Severin would hold something like this in NYC. Gotta thank Bill Lustig for turning me onto Castellari's awesome action films. And if QT's variant means that Enzo gets work back home or here, I'll be happier still.

with Elvis Mitchell on an interview program Under The Influence? Strange to see QT speak lovingly of old Judy Garland musicals. Good program also, with the late Sydney Pollack and Bill Murray as recent guests.

i know? he had spelling and grammatical mistakes all throughout the script. you'd think he'd have that stuff fixed up before he sent it out to studios. not saying i'm perfect...just that it was sorta distracting at times to have to puzzle over the errors while i was reading. sorta took me out of it on occasion. nonetheless i enjoyed reading the script, it was a quick read. on first read, i didn't really notice a great place to break if he's still planning on doing 2 films ala KILL BILL, i actually thought the script could have been longer. you don't really get to see much of the "basterds" in action before most of them are killed. i suppose you could pretty much imagine what they're up to based off of their first scene together but there is zero character development going on here. not that QT's known for a ton of character development but just sayin'. anyway, i'm looking forward to the movie, although i'm not a big fan of ultra-graphic violence on screen, i think QT is a pretty entertaining visual director. plus i love the fact that **** is blown to smithereens at the end, thus ** the *. and the final scene isn't so bad either. it should be interesting to say the least.

Saw presumably this same print at the drafthouse here in Austin... From what I could tell, this was a print of the restored version made for the DVD release. It looks like they didn't print english subs on here (since they're overlaid using the DVD features), so about 10% of the dialog is in unsubbed german... Most of it's pretty easy to figure out, but the last sequence on the train features a lot of "....oh i guess he means..." [spoiler]i think the light's for the photo lab entry/exit, but everything else was pretty easy to figure out[/spoiler]

...apparently (source: Nikki Finke). Weinstein couldn't convince Quentin to do otherwise. I know I shouldn't -considering the fond memories everyone seems to have of him- but I feel sorry for Harvey. He commited some bold, interesting films to celluloid but it seems that fortune is indeed a blind harlot - or a very perspicacious one, if one is to believe all the trash-talk directed at him and his poor, dwindling karma.

Literally hand scrawled, "'INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS' - written and directed by QUENTIN TARANTINO - Last Draft July 2nd, 2008." As far as the typed pages, the script is full of blatant, gleeful misspelling. It's also very tough on Germans. Even low-ranking German soldiers get beaten to death with a baseball bat. Compared to QT's script, the Bald Mechanic in "Raiders" got off easy.

when I was a kid. I bet I saw it at least five times. Even as a sixth grader or so, I knew that it was "so bad it's good." For years I've been interested in seeing it again to see what it's "really" like. I'm kind of annoyed QT's using the title. Does he do anything on his own? Well, Kill Bill was his title. Wonder how long it took for him to conjour up that one. Casting Rutger Hauer AND Paul Reubens would be nice.
