LUCKY LOUIE was complete shit and not funny whatsoever. I do, however, quite like TV Funhouse.

do you think it would appeal to someone now in their 20s? I've always enjoyed the Triumph stuff (except his cd, it didn't have the charm), but I didn't get the show back when it was on...

Schmigel oozes talent out of every pore. He would make a helluva talk show host. Could you imagine Late Night with Schmiegel following The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien. That would be a huge victory for real comedy. Leno and his chin are both annoying as hell.
We need to see the pilot

Smigel promised to show the funhouse pilot at the show, but they ran out of time. He promised to leak it somewhere for the fans to see it. Can cool news get it on their site. Smigel said it was better than the show itself. it's a bozo clown style sketch.

Nice, Beaks. I've watched every minute of the TV FUNHOUSE discs and they still entertain me to no end. One of the most surreal shows I've ever seen, and every episode takes me back to very late nights where I kept putting off sleep for another 30 minutes to see what the fuck those puppets were going to do next.

"Stedman! Stedman! Not just Oprah's boyfriend! If you cross him you're a dead man! Stedman!" That is one of the funniest things I've ever seen. And as mean-spirited as anything Michael O'Donoghue ever did.

Good as TV Funhouse is (and I just bough my copy & watched it all this weekend), it can't even approach O'Donoghue's bite and sarcasm. Go get some of the old Lampoon's 'Best of' stuff and check out Children's Letters to the Gestapo: Dear Herr Hitler - How are you able to fit all those jews into your oven? I can barely fit a small snackcake into mine. Anybody know if Triumph will follow Conan to the Tonight Show?

It would be suicide to leave Triumph in the dust when Conan goes to 11:30. He's the most mainstream thing Conan's got going for him, weirdly enough.
TV Funhouse Box Set is incomplete...

It really pissed me off but I know of at least 1 cartoon that was NOT included in this set. In fact, it was completely edited out of the episode. The Harlem Globetrotters meet Jesus cartoon (the funniest in the series btw) is GONE. The host Doug even introduced it as "Have a look at this" and then...no cartoon. WTF? I have the Christmas episode on VHS taped from Comedy Central and have the uncut episode. Lame.

That's my impersonation of a "bad hombre" from a Gary Cooper movie. I forget the title. This has nothing to do with TV FUNHOUSE. I'm gone. Sorry...

.. but Smigel is funnier. He has the instinct for the punchline without the neurotic itching to piss everybody off.. his offensiveness feels completely natural, not forced. O'Donoghue was brilliant and he was right for his time though

Picked it up at BIG LOTS for $3 this week. $3! 13 episodes. I would of passed on it at the store but I had read this interview so I thought it was fate this show was in the $3 bin at Big Lots.

You want funny, I'll give you funny. A gay couple of super heroes with a phallic car. And it goes into mountains and stuff in such a way as to suggest anal sex. Ha! Comedy! Ha!
