Didn't get to go, nor to the Arclight screening...

...but I went to Lazer Blazer/J&SBSS for the signing. It was a treat to get Jess's autograph on my copy of Confetti, and to reminisce with Edgar on how Eli Roth crashed the Shaun Q&A at Comic-Con '04. My biggest disappointment was when Simon told me he wasn't working on Ant-Man with Edgar--"I'm too old to be Ant-Man!" Then WHOM, Edgar, WHOM did you have in mind for Henry Pym? No reason in the world he couldn't be a late-thirties/early forties Englishman (especially with that name!)...I mean, RDJ was 43 when Iron Man came out, and Norton was 38 when Incredible Hulk came out. Simon Pegg right now is 38. Avengers Assemble!

Would have loved to have gone to this screening. My wife and I have been watching the series on DVD for the last week. It has lived up to all the hype. There have been more than a few times in each episode that just toook my by total surprise. Very funny stuff indeed.

Thank god McG isn't going through with the Spaced Rape. I mean, how could an American version possibly improve upon it?

... it's an article written by geeks read by geeks about geeks gathering to watch a show about geeks watching shows. This actually maybe works better for MST3K, but the odd meta reality is there.

I prefer Father Ted. For me Father Ted is the Funniest thing ever written! even funnier than The Office, Fawlty Towers, Cheers and The Simpsons all rolled into one big comedy ballblob

They should do a SPACED Movie though! Why don't they do a SPACED fucking Movie!? shoot it cheap and cheery like the Serieses. I'd see that because there can't be a Father Ted Movie I'd settle for a SPACED film

Fuck!!! Just remembered PeepShow is better than SPACED! Peepshow is almost as funny as Father Ted!

God sorry to piss on SPACED in a pro SPACED talkback! I love SPACED and I LOVE the Peg and the Frost and Jessica whatsit but everyone who hasn't seen PeepShow should do so!

Harry watch Peepshow! your Geek love will implode!

I figured you'd be in here trolling at some point!

Care to grow a pair and actually make an intelligent and reasoned point? If you don't like something then thats fine, but posting in every Spaced thread is just pathetic. If you don't like the show then don't post, and go back to your beloved Joey DVD box set instead. Or, heaven forbid, actually try to make a point without being a cock.

Last Night

I didn't think it possible to top the Guillermo del Toro event. Nor did I think it possible to render my meeting Kristen Bell down to a ho-hum moment. But last night the Alamo and Harry delivered. Sure, I left the place with Spaced, Hot Fuzz, the poster, and Shaun signed, spent nine hours watching the series, jumped to my feet and gave a bullet spray during the gunfight pantomime--but the best part of the evening?--sitting directly in front of both Simon and Edgar as they ooh'd and aaah'd, and what sounded like amazement at the crowd reaction. I heard a "They apparently liked THAT episode!," and "...perhaps not as much" at other times. Simon elbow deep in both nachos and beer. The only disappointment was not having Jessica there. But otherwise a great night.

could have made me miss this one. That said, I did tear up a bit when I read the geeky glee in Harry's review. I love Spaced and was sorry to have missed it. But I'm glad it was fun. When I feel sad, watching a couple of episodes cheers me up... So that audience must be the happiest group ever to leave the theater.

Well, seeing as how J.J. Abrams has a multi-picture deal with Paramount and is currently MAKING a Trek film, why the fuck do you think Paramount would contract Meyer?

But hey, the collective intelligentsia of the AICN talkbacks has proclaimed that the Abrams Trek film will suck, so clearly that's what will happen. So I can see why you're worried about where the next good Trek might come from.

Whoa, there, ByTor...

My conversation with Meyer was years ago, long before Abrams was in the picture. I'm actually an Abrams fan since Alias (never could get into Felicity) so I'm holding out hope.

TWIGLETS !

Twiglets are marmite-like crispy snacks and are the food of the Gods, right alongside Quavers and Frazzles. I love these snacks like Amy Winehouse loves crack !!
Marmite!

Marmite is a yeast extract that is great on toast or in a sandwich. Its very much a love/hate thing.

Quavers are light cheesey crisps (or chips as you might call them!)

Frazzles are bacon crisps (chips) that look like streaky bacon.

All of the above are lovely! And very bad for you.

Chips !

Chips are thick chunks of fried potato and served with fish, or kebabs on a Saturday night. Fries are thin potato french fries and Crisps are thin potatoes served in a sealed bag and come in flavours like salt and vinegar. And the only person allowed to use their hands during a game of Football is the goalkeeper !!!
