I mean....I look at my local 30 screen megaplex...I look at their grand marquee....I see Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Hellboy 2: The Golden Army, and now The Dark Knight (I mean not even with Batman in the title is how far we have come!!!) all up there...ok Iron Man is already off there but still....this is the dream. I even get to see an incredible trailer to FRACKING Watchmen in front of said Dark Knight movie!!! I gotta say if 10 years ago when I was graduating high school and sad that the world would never get to see how great comics are and I would never see the characters I grew up with done justice....if I went back and told that 18 year old what his eyes would behold on the marquee....he wouldn't believe it. Next time you feel like complaining about any comic movie...justified or not...just take a moment to think about how far we've come. PEACE ALL!

I still think the trailer is a little over saturated - too comic booky. I always though it should be shot as a simple thriller, that happens to have people in silly costumes. But I love this, and the picture of the Minutemen. If they throw in some 30's serial and 60's Batman series and some saturday morning cartoon imagery for the different era flashbacks I'll love the hell out of this one.

I guess you could go to wikipedia and read up on it, but if you want my opinion, you really should read the book. It's incredibly multi-layered, not only the writing, but Dave Gibbons' art as well. It's a work that demands to be read several times because on the first reading, you're going to miss a lot. I realize a lot of people are not into comics, and I understand, but if you can overlook the medium, the story is amazing.
