Kelly Dolan?

Is that the same Kel Dolan who directed the laughably shitty alleged vampire movie REIGN IN DARKNESS. An anacronistic title to be sure, as 95% of the movie takes place in bright daylight. And I never knew that becoming a vampire instantly outfitted you with black body armour and made you a kung-fu expert. I've gotta get in on some of that.

Why no mention of the Official Competition winners at the SFF? Surely that's more important than the audience awards...
I think it was my day you made, Lat.

And you have indeed depressed me with that point about the Get Smart marketing. But luckily I bounced back with how deliciously clever the line "I say never trust anything told to you by a pronoun" is, a paradox every bit as good as 'this sentence is not true.' :^)

Cheers for another great column.

I been WAAAAAITING for ever to see it and I even downloaded a copy but didn't watch it because i wanted to watch it at the movies first, even though my friend who saw it in canada said it sux, but it got some good reviews on the site and i wanted to check it out. i was really looking forward to it actually.. god damnit. the keep pushing back release dates and then they just don't release them at all. Sometimes i hate living in australia. I mean, we don't get wall-e till september?!?!?!?!??!?!

I know Perth is a tiny city miles away from everywhere but it's really our only film festival, and it probably isn't as big as melbournes or sydneys, but her, it was pretty cool this with with all those horror films they had. And the fact that the anime festival was screening at the same time meant i didn't do any work for the last 2 weeks and i'm paying for it now.. I wish we had big film festivals in Perth :(

I hope you're aware of this. Don't be thinking that just because you get very quiet talkbacks here that we don't like your reports. We do.
Well, I do.
You're a very good writer and reviewer who covers a nicely varied range of topics. Maybe you need to write about the Batman film. That'll get you 100's of talkback posts.
Maybe even 1000's if you say it's poo. Go on, write a review and say it's poo. I dare you.

acassimaty: Fair point, but the audience awards piqued my interest this time around, so I wrote about those.

raw_bean and 12th Doctor: Thank you both for the kind words, glad I can be of service.

red_weed: I knew Revelation was on, but I didn't actually come across any info on it in my travels, nor was I sent anything! However, I'm told by people who attended that it was a blast.

I will definitely have to see that film now. Even if I am the youngest in attendance at the Orpheum (hardly a big feat). Glad to see another ardent Doctor Who fan.
