Odd... this doesn't look exciting at all

Has it been too long? Was last season just overly boring? Have the comic book movies recently raised the bar too high? Could I ask any more questions?

The end of that makes it look like we'll get some warped future versions of these people. Will they get stuck in the present and duke it out with themselves?

Other than that, I welcome some genuine antagonists. The main obstacle to the heroes so far has been their own inability to coordinate and deal with real life. Bo-ring! Give us some real threats so the heroes have to start working together to stay alive and save others.

...and let him deal with Sylar. After the fnale of Season 1, they knew what he could do. And anyway, Sylar was basically out of commission last season!

I get that Sylar could be a formidable enemy (probably a bit too formidable for most characters), but just one antagonist - who was sidelined for the last arc - was not enough. Elle was okay but was not given much to do.

Bring on a stable of superpowered villains and give everybody credible threats and not just snotty cheerleaders, inept gangbangers, and Uhuru's nephew.

Despite a few people's oddly negative comments, this looks very cool. I like the fact that we'll be seeing more than one Major Supervillain, and even more of the Heroes working together, and against each other. I realize that Midasman and Electragal were considered villians, but they didn't...they were people with their own twisted objectives. Sylar is an evil son of a bitch, and i welcome more of them >:) September is too far away...

i dont want to bring up the expletive-laden debate of which is better, but emmy-darling season one of heroes and rightfully snubbed season two have so far mapped the quality of Lost. so... i'm thinking i should watch only the last 2 game-changing episodes of heroes and villains, and start getting excited in a year or so for season 4 greatness

Who cares, in the comic book/tv universe no one really friggin dies. Not really sure if I going back to the show, especially with that awful Hiro-was-in-Japan-way-too-long Season 2. I'll stick with the 4400, thank you.

...season 3 is gonna be the best one yet..think bout it, usually shows 1st season is really good because its so new or original or whatever...then 2nd season is a flopper but still has the audience, then boom, 3rd season is a hit...
...also, most people complain of the lack of action...thats cuz there was basically 1 bad guy...if season 3 is villains, expect a lot of action and/or cool, verbal exchanges, showing what our "heroes" (hiro, peter, etc) can really do, and because come on...its a show about heroes...b grateful we have it...

The only thing I remember from season 2 is their terrible attempt at recreating Cork, Ireland, as well as the accent...and I only remember that because it's where Im from.

In fact over the last few months I forgot all about Heroes, as in I forgot the show even existed. They really need to do something or the show won't make it past the third episode of the season.

12:18:57 AM
I just realised...Heroes reminds me of the anime version of Dragonball, specifically Dragonball Z...a whole lot of talking and pointless backstory inbetween a few seconds of action.

It kinda worked for DBZ because the action tended to be worth waiting for...not so much with Heroes

It might be interesting if they chronicle the origins of some of these villains, they way they chronicled the beginnings of the "Heroes" in Season One. It could be neat to see how some of these super-powered characters fall to the ways of the dark side.

A few nice moments but a lot of embarassing bupkis. I'm sure the Claire shooting scarred Peter scene is another alternate future Hiro will soon start getting his mail sent to. And seriously, what's the point of pretending to kill off people in a show where three of the main characters' powers present ever reliable reset buttons? Sigh. I'm sure I'll stilll be watching for some of that decent first season vibe, but hopefully last season's giant dive in quality was from the strike rather than just general staff jackassery.
I can't wait for this.

Sure, season 2 was a let down. But the whole of last season on most shows was a let down, partly due to the writers strike. I just can't wait for some new entertainment. Lets hope the 08/09 season is a good one!

I think this will be good! I really can't wait to see what happens. That's what I got from that trailer. How could you get anything else? So that leaves people who've already passed judgement on the show and trolls. Either way what are you doing here if already don't like it? I like this show and I think season 2 got the short end of the stick because of the writer's strike.
Is Loeb involved?
by OBSD
Jul 18th, 2008
08:23:54 AM
If Jeph Loeb is involved, then this show will continue to suck. If they wised up and fired his ass (bloody unlikely since he has the most undeserved popularity in comics since Rob Liefeld), then Heroes has got a shot of pulling out of the nosedive the show is currently in.

I'm never overjoyed when a show simply gives everyone what they asked for on such a basic level. It makes things feel predictable at the very least. Why pay so many writers if you're going to let the fans (or in this case the non-fans seem to have more influence on the story) craft your plot? I want good stories over a specific quantity of villians. I hope they manage to fill this pandering with good stories, but the previews have me a bit skeptical.
So to make the show better again they bring in new villains? Ugh

I've seen every episode of Lost. I'm only pointing out that people were talking the same way about Lost that they talk about Heroes now. Of course all those people who were trashing Lost are nowhere to be found now. If Heroes returns to form, I doubt many will admit to trashing it either.
Lost eye shot
by BurgerKing
Jul 19th, 2008
01:12:03 PM
Yeah, I saw the opening eye shot that screamed LOST. Besides that, this looks a heck of a lot like the eye-rollingly typical Heroes plotlines that will probably last about half of the season before some other ridiculous plot takes over. Yet, I like the ideas of more villians and perhaps a Claire villain.

Season 2 was a bit of a disaster tbh, not particularly helped by the Writer strike, or the god awful hokey Japanese plot. I'm ambivalent about this teaser trailer. They need to wrap up quite a few loose threads and avoid having every other person whose introduced to the show suddenly finding they have a super power.

Everyone just seems really bitter about season 2. The alternate timelines thing does suck yes, and the baddies in the cells look like they will mostly die soon due to lack of screen time, but this season so far is still more interesting than all of last season.
