maybe at the end of the series they go through some kind of time bubble back to the day of the attack on caprica and just keep reapeating it over and over. this fits with the whole "it has happened before and will happen again" thing. i would be pissed if that happened, though.

We're gonna see the scene exactly as it was in the miniseries except they'll pan off to the side or something and we'll see a character who was there all along and it'll be a total mindfuck. I agree with Alientoast. I think we're finally going to find out who Six met up with after she and Baltar parted company. Could be someone Roslin only recognizes years after the fact? A bit far-fetched, but this is BSG after all. More likely, but rather nasty, perhaps Roslin is the person Six met with. If not a Cylon, some kind of collaborator/sleeper agent? Her later religious visions could be Cylon programming meant to guide her on a path of their choosing so they could have time to find the Final Five and learn how to successfully breed without having to mating with humans.

This isn't the first time AICN has posted a spoiler in the HEADLINE of an article, but this one is pretty fucking major. Having a little "spoiler!" logo next to the spoiler in question hardly does anyone any good now, does it? I've avoided reading this article because I don't want to know any more about the SERIES FUCKING FINALE of Battlestar Galactica than I already do thanks to your brilliant ass, but I think this one's given me ample reason to boycott AICN altogether, at least until I'm not in the middle of any series that I don't want spoiled for me by some genius posting details on the site's MAIN PAGE. ESPECIALLY when the photos are from a series FINALE. I would equate a series finale to the final moments of a feature film. Let's just roll the clock back to around 1941 and make the headline: "Childhood Sled Named Rosebud: Photography from the Set of Citizen Kane". Okay, maybe that's reaching. But still... It's not like they're posting photos from the series finale of Desperate Housewives. For a site that's heavy on science fiction, super-heroes, and such, I'd expect a little more consideration on the home page. Bury the spoilers behind a link or two.

It's not that the article contains spoilers; hell, that's 75% of what's posted on this site. The problem is that the HEADLINE for this article contains a spoiler. You see the problem? Why not have a "SO-AND-SO IS THE FINAL CYLON!(SPOILER!)" headline? Shock, no. Spoiler, yes. It doesn't belong on AICN's main page. Like myself, there are many, many people who both read this site AND don't want to know any spoilers about their favorite shows. This site has blown it for me in a boneheaded fashion more than once, now. That's enough for me, so I'm not going to visit this site anymore after this thread comes to an end. The last time AICN ran a big spoiler in a headline, there were multiple cries of "change the fucking headline, you idiots!" in the talkback. The headline was never changed, despite the fact that it kept on spoilin'. Looks like nobody's going to bother changing this one, either. Thanks a lot, assholes.

About the baby carriages, on the commentary for the mini series, they said they actually hated the design of the carriages and wish they hadn't used them. It's funny that they're now forced to reuse them.

It's very simple: I don't want ANYTHING spoiled for me, unless I choose to seek out said spoilage. AICN has made a habit recently of posting spoilers in their HEADLINES, making that decision for me. To add insult to injury, they post these spoiler headlines with a little "Spoiler!" emblem next to it, as if that could somehow stop someone from reading the headline first. Was it always likely that there would be baby carriages in BSG's ending? Sure. Was it definite? NO. How were we to know, before this, that BSG would even end in the same timeline, where babies would play an important part? How were we to know, before this, that ANY of the series' child characters would survive the series? Now, as a viewer, I won't be guessing -- I know for certain that Moore and company will not throw us a curveball (something they've done repeatedly throughout the series, mind you) with regard to the storyline about the importance of children and babies -- it's all been laid out for us by AICN's nonexistent sense of responsibility to its geek readership. I didn't WANT to know anything about BSG's ending until it airs next year, but AICN has stepped in and took that choice out of my hands. If the headline for this piece had been written by someone with the intellect commensurate with the opposable thumbs granted him by evolution, it would have read something more like "Pics From The BATTLESTAR Finale! Spoiler!", but instead the headline INCLUDES the spoiler. "Space Baby Carriages!" -- oh, that's neat! Thanks, AICN, for just offhandedly mentioning something that DEFINES where the end of the series is going to go -- indeed where it MUST go -- in a place that is pretty impossible to miss if you visit the site, regardless of whether your readers want to know the spoilers. AICN is run by a bunch of unprofessional fanboy fuckups who fancy themselves intrepid reporters, and this latest example of their ineptitude as 'journalists' simply showcases how far off the mark they are when applying that moniker. Like many readers of this site, I have the ability to EXTRAPOLATE from the spoilers herein, and that's diminished the surprises I was looking forward to next year, when this episode airs. I have a good idea of where it ISN'T going now, and it's all thanks to AICN just randomly informing me. THAT'S why I'm upset. Why is that so difficult to grasp?

It's difficult to grasp because you are completely overreacting. First of all, these "space baby carriages" have been, in essense, already seen in the mini-series. (You have seen the mini, right?) Second, in no way do these carriages or shots of Caprica "define where the end of the series is going to go". That's an assumption on your part. Third, I fail to see how "Sci-Fi Baby Carriages!" even constitutes a spoiler when read at face value. Basically, what I'm trying to tell you is that there is nothing new to see or read here. Your tirade seems completely misplaced and unwarranted in this case. I appreciate your desire for wanting to keep your experience of the BSG Finale as pure as the driven snow. (Believe me, I do.) But AICN's reputation is built on trying to generate and break these types of stories. So, I think a little more levity would be appropriate in this instance.

Man, if you consider ANYTHING to be a spoiler, what are you even doing here? Not trying to be Snarky, but seriously: There will be a finale, the actors on the show will appear in it, and there may be a flashback or tie-in to the mini-series, They may use the same baby carriages they used then, the actors will wear the same clothes.... I mean, if you really don't want to know ANYTHING about it, you need to be offline from now until then. You sure don't need to be looking at the front page of AICN, much LESS entering ANY BSG talkback. During the season, I don't read the weekly TB until after I see the episode, because real spoiler will be present. But random speculation and innocuous images that reveal NOTHING about the story or plot or conclusion do not constitute the normal definition of spoilers. If they are part of your definition, though, I can respect that, but not your coming onto AICN and complaining about "SciFi Baby Carriages"

It's very simple, and I've explained it as clearly as I can already: ANY spoiler, including details as small as those about props like "SciFi Baby Carriages", does not belong on AICN's main page. Otherwise, the "Spoiler!" emblem incorporated here a few years back serves no purpose whatsoever. There's two options, here: A)these spoilers are relegated to the body of the article, in which case a "Spoiler!" emblem can be tagged onto the story's headline, and those readers like myself who choose NOT to participate in 'spoiler culture' can be assured that visiting this site is not going to blow anything for them. Or: B) The site can forgo "Spoiler!" warnings and post whatever information they see fit in the headlines, and readers such as myself can rely on other sites that are more friendly to our 'no spoilers' preferences. The thing is, AICN apparently wants it both ways -- I'm sorry, but you can't post a spoiler in a headline, and then run it with a "Spoiler!" emblem -- that's just flat-out idiotic. If the info has already been spoiled, WHY would you tag the article with a warning? Too little, too late. More than anything, I'm upset by the fact that this is TWICE in recent memory that AICN has posted a spoiler in a headline that I personally have taken issue with (who knows how many they've posted regarding shows I'm unfamiliar with), and this one is actually the lesser of the two offenses. Without giving away the spoiler in question (and risk spoiling for other readers what was spoiled for me), I will say that AICN posted a headline a few months ago about a popular SciFi show; the headline gave away that an actor who had portrayed a major, departed character would be returning in the following season, even though that actor's character had been pretty definitively written out of the show previously. Given the nature of that show, it was clear that this character would be returning, and so it was a MAJOR part of the mystery of that season that AICN ruined for who-knows-how-many fans. The Talkback on that article was composed greatly of people demanding that the headline be changed, and that this was WAY too big of a spoiler to be posted on the main page. I mean, there were DOZENS of people demanding that the offending info be removed from the headline -- nothing. Nada. No one from the site even so much as offered a response to the Talkbackers, let alone made an effort to fix the problem -- meanwhile, anyone who was a fan of the show and read the headline (like it or not) had a REALLY BIG piece of information handed to them, along with the aforementioned "Spoiler!" emblem (which did everyone a fat lot of good, since the spoiler was IN THE HEADLINE). Two strikes is enough for me; I don't want to encounter anything close to as major of a spoiler as that last one, and it's clear that nobody at this site is going to keep readers like myself in mind and make sure not to give anything away on the home page. I understand that some of you don't get it, or think I'm overreacting, or see me as someone who just wants to bitch -- if that's you, I have a feeling I'm not going to convince you otherwise, so I won't attempt to do so -- I've made my point, and I feel that if anyone from AICN is reading this and they'd like to discuss it, they can email me. Beyond that, I can't summarize my argument any more succinctly than "spoilers on the main page are a dumb idea, and doubly so when accompanied by a 'Spoiler!' warning".
