I totally thought that meant the kidnapping was set up by the father, and I was like "Hm, this sounds interesting."

But wait. It's not. It's just another good-man-in-bad-situation flick. Oh look, Liam Neeson is talking in the same damn monotone he always does. Lame.

Talkbacks here are sometimes a very interesting debate of knowledgeable film-goers, but lately it's become a dismal section of hate and ignorance. It's beginning to suck the life out of this site and that's too bad.

BTW, which kind of respect Pierre Morel earned exactly with District B13? He managed to ruin the few good stunts on that one with his lame direction and - surprise, surprise - didn't performed better on Taken. The only upside is that Liam Neeson delivers, as usual. Unfortunately he's the only one doing his job right in that mess; not unlike in a certain prequel...

I'll go back watching Tony Scott's Man on Fire which is a hundred times better. "Avid farts" or not. Taken is for the most indulgent Besson fans only.

Sorry to hear this apparently sucks. It seems to me from the trailer that someone finally learned something from THE LIMEY. Took 'em long enough. This looks kick-ass to me, but we've already got one dissenting opinion, so I don't know...

You're right, Beaks, where ARE all his films? Usually after one of these classic greats passes on, you see a surge of remastered releases. There are some out there, but I really expected the original Ransom to be released when it was remade, as is usual. Ford was the top Hollywood draw in his day, and had, in real life, his own special little skill: he was the fastest man with a gun in Hollywood back then...so where's The Fastest Gun Alive? Torpedo Run?
The guy was a war hero in real life! The film tributes and re-releases are long over due.

I love these kind of under-the-radar little action / thriller flicks. Plus the fact it's in Paris gives it a hint of Harrison Ford's "Frantic." I hope it is good, too bad the word out of our Euro friends is it's no good. If the same word is by losers who download a bootleg off of pirate bay, then that makes me happy because anyone who ruins a good movie experience by getting a crappy version in advance for 'free' has no movie taste in my book.

But that wasn't really his fault. Crappy script and a shitty director. He even said in interviews that he felt like a friggin' puppet. And I get the feeling he's really not into the whole voice acting thing, because his performance as Aslan is pretty bland and sedate. I think he prefers to actually ACT and REACT/INTERACT in movies. So, something like this really plays to his strengths. It's just a shame he doesn't get more quality roles, like Rob Roy.

Fucking love the guy. Darkman, Schindler's List, Rob Roy - 3 of my favourites right there. I've heard this is pretty damn good so looking forward to it. And you can't blame him for Phantom Menace - actually thought he was fine in it.

I couldn't agree with you more , its why this site is looked upon as a joke to most of the rest of the internet/real world. Its a shame too as the crew is good here but this open talkback system must piss off most of the actors/directors who make the mistake of being in interviews or just plain visiting here.

I howled at that...great line. Look, Neeson rules. It's that simple; he just gets cooler as he gets older. "I once fought for two days with an arrow through my testicle"--I mean, COME ON, no one else can say that line and it not be a joke. Just the idea of a revenge flick with him sound intriging. Plus, Famke? No words need be said. Her presence speaks volumes.

Dude, remember when I said that, I had such conviction, such rage. But this Brit Neeson, he's just a cold blooded bastard! I gotta admit, he scares the crap outta me, and I painted my face like Julie Christie in Wicker Man and mooned the English, so it takes a lot.
