As a die-hard Indy lover, as well as the older source material, I've always held a soft spot for the two Mummy films. The first one Ive always loved, and seem to get sucked in even when in its been on cable so much recently (if its on a hi-def channel). I wouldnt expect to find it on Turner Classics now or anytime in the future, but its still a very enjoyable movie for me. The shot of all the cowboy-types on the boat firing away going "Yeehawww" and the (sp?) "Ammmerrricans..." line always gets a big laugh. Second one is okay( you have to dock points for the blimp and CGI at the end, 'natch, only a broken reel could take you out of the film more), but it doesnt get nearly the replay around here like the first one does. I think Fraser works well in the role, though when he's fighting all the mummies at the end I cant help but get a misty-eyed fanboy hankering for Bruce Campbell to step in and kick even more ass. The score in the first one is rising up the charts here too lately.

Old enough to have a son that age. The son looks like he's a few years younger than his "dad". If Weisz didn't want to be in this movie, they should have pulled an Alien3 and killed her and the son offscreen. The uncle was the only supporting character worth bringing back.

...about "nuke the fridge" is that it's apparently supposed to be the new "jumped the shark". Most people using it in this context don't properly understand the original phrase. It's not just the point where a film takes a nose dive into the unbelievable. When Fonzie jumped the shark, it was during the Jaws craze in the 1970s, meaning that Happy Days ludicrously tried to cash in on a pop cultural phenomenon in order to restore the show's ratings. Indy 4, while shit in many other ways, attempted no such embarrassing maneuver. In other words, "nuke the fridge" was deader than shit even before it left the gates.

So please, for the love of decent memes everywhere, drop that lame-ass phrase.
