Radioactive dogs was crazier, but also sounded like fun...to an extent. But what do I know. I liked Prophecy with the Meatloaf Bear.

However, it does sound like it should really be a serialized TV show like Lost of the X-Files. The story seems like it could go really deep if they wanted. I hope it all works out well in a 2 hourish movie. Either way, I'm glad theres something new and interesting in the pipes.

And I believe we should all offer him our support. Who else are we going to root for? Michael Bay? I say fuck that.

Fuck that.

This is a guy who can do an enjoyably daffy action film without insulting the audience and I applaud him for it. More films from him will be a good thing, I reckon. Good on you, Louis Leterrier - in your honour, I choose to pronounce your name as Frenchly as is humanly possible.

Now that does sound better

Beats the hell out of actual dogs.

I was worried we were maybe staring down the barrel of a Watchers reboot.

(Not really, but man, don't that idea make the blood run cold?)

Is going to be the next giant Action movie maker.... right? No... ok.

This movie kind of sounds like 4400, anyone else? I haven't seen much of the show past the first season, but it seems to have similar ideas.

So from combining all the thingeys...

... these super-smart people go to investigate a radioactive ghost town in Russia and disappear. There are radioactive stray dogs. The people re-appear all over the place and warn the populace and then all of them die. From radioactive stray dogs. And oh shits!

This a remake of the killer cat made for tv movie staring Timothy (red hair step child) Busfield that came out in 1991. IT was written by Shaun Cassidy of the Partridge Family. I kid you not. Fuck off now: http://www.imdb.com/t itle/tt0102994/

It's not dogs' fucking mission to protect people. They're simply pack animals. And humans don't need dogs now, but I don't see any widespread dog suicides. And since when have dogs needed a purpose? My dog is quite happy to sit around on its ass all day licking its balls.

Hulk was cool but I can't believe for a moment that the man behind The Fucking Transporter and The Pointless Transporter 2 had anything to do with that. Getting one golden goose in your pocket shouldn't make up for all your lame ducks filling your pants. Or something. Not very interested in this yet.

... if anyone cares... but I wanted to vent and missed the window from last week

I was a bit disappointed with the overall movie, but not because it was worse than I expected going in, but because it felt like a weaker movie than it actually was, or should have been.

All the hubbub about the final cut and the fact that 70 minutes of material was exorcised either by Leterrier or the studio appears to be well warranted since all the dramatic scenes and overall pacing seemed unusually abbreviated.

Instead of a well rounded dramatic story I felt like I was getting bits and pieces of an even greater story arc; Particularly Blonsky's background and motivations to mutate himself as a byproduct of him being a war machine at the twilight of his career, General Ross's military motives, and the reconciliation between Bruce and Betty.

All of these aspects to the story were briefly touched upon in some genuinely scenes and moments, such as the rainstorm scene with the Hulk, Norton's speech about how dangerous the Hulk is as a force to be wielded by any man, and Blonsky's admiration and jealously towards the Hulk's raw power. As soon, as I was getting into it however or begun to think "This is getting pretty interesting" we get rushed to the next exposition scene or action sequence.

Thankfully, Lettierrer showed that his time working with shirtless Jason Stathem and feral Jet-Li was well spent since the action scenes were absolutely top-notch, particularly the final showdown which worked as a perfect climax to the film and action set piece. It was a deft blend of live action and cgi, and the choreography was a perfect blend of savagery and grace. And when I finally heard "Hulk Smash" before he delivered his finishing move, I actually wanted to chestbump a fatkid.

Overall it was a solid action movie, interjected with crumbs from an even better drama. I definitely can't wait to see the Director's cut on this thing though.

Oh yes, as for "Danny the Dog" aka "Unleashed"

The movie was pretty solid, although I couldn't help but think the whole time that Danny should have really been played by someone younger than Jet Li, which I know would have destroyed most of the appeal of the film, so alternatively they really should have made the supporting actors/ roles significantly older. Either way, I like the film, but couldn't help but think that there was a pretty huge age discrepancy between Jet Li's age and Danny's intended age for the events in the movie to take place, particularly him being adopted by Morgan Freeman and being macked on by his high school aged daughter.
