have hinted that Pixar has done it again. That they have captured genuine emotion within the context of their animated films, which they excell (Toy Story's, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, etc.). Monsters Inc has one of the most perfectly realized endings and never fails to produce a tear or two. I think thats what sets them apart from the other animation studios.

Time blurb

"On an Earth long abandoned by humans, one little dustbuster keeps picking up the trash. The compact critter is code-named WALL.E (Waste Allocation Load Lifter — Earth), and he's the funniest, most soulful entity you're likely to meet in movies this summer. His encounter with another robot, the sleekly feminine EVE, forms the valentine heart of this science-fiction love story. Stanton, whose Finding Nemo remains Pixar's top-grossing movie, playfully challenges audiences with WALL.E's first 45 minutes, which has virtually no dialogue, yet communicates its humor and feelings as directly as Charlie Chaplin's best silent films. The Earth scenes are non-talking, but in no way silent — WALL.E's mechanical voice and most of the movie's other aural components are the work of Ben Burtt; he's been recognized as the medium's presiding wizard of sounds since the original Star Wars, for which he created the voices or noises of the creatures, droids and swishing light sabers. Like the early shorts of Pixar creative boss John Lasseter (Luxo Jr., Red's Dream), this one is the story of a machine with palpable human emotions. In that sense, WALL.E is the company's most sophisticated toy but its purest, most personal movie yet: ultimate Pixar."
I'll wait for PPV, Thank you.

According to The Pixar Blog (and also being reported on Dark Horizons), Andrew Stanton has confirmed that he is writing the script for John Carter of Mars for Pixar. Personally I would love to see Pixar start taking on projects like this. Hope this is true!

28/06/2007 is good for me, 3 weeks before the UK release which makes it even more of an advance preview for Brits than the Alamo is for Statesians. Plus Pixar are sending along an animator to Edinburgh to talk through some of the key scenes which is sweet. Thanks anyway guys...

needs to rewatch both of those films and realise that THEY'RE NOT SET IN THE FUTURE IN A WORLD POPULATED BY ROBOTS.... if you cant see past the fact they've both got 2 eyes (like humans do, apparently) then you're gonna miss out on one of the best movies of the year just because you've got something against binocular vision. pillock.

I came on wall-e's face and short circuited his neck servos. Now he's all rusted and cum drenched, and has to look in one direction: I have him hanging over my cat's litter box, where he is forced to watch my cat release her kitty food in gooey warm fudge.

sounds interesting. i just heard a clip on itunes this morning. it's called "down to earth" and it has very distant echoes of "you got a friend in me" from the first toy story. and i couldn't care less about john carter or up or newt or whatever the fuck they are "talking about doing", i just wanna see this, toy story 3 and cars 2 next from them. that's it. i would like to see another incredibles and nemo as well , but one problem, the story has been told again and again in far superior films. nuff said.

My old HS is having a fund-raiser @ Pixar tomorrow, which includes a screening for all the guests. I'm jealous I don't live near the bay area any longer. So you're not really accurate in saying Alamo peeps will see it first, but I'm still jealous of ya.

It is a Pixar movie. They haven't made a bad one yet, and even if this one turns out to be not so great, it will make tons of money.
