I'm a Philly dork so I drove out to check this out last night. Pretty impressive what they're doing to the old steel plant. Unfortunately they only wanted Asians as extras for Bethlehem. Decepticons making energon cubes in some token Asian nation perhaps? I went to the casting call for the rest of the local locations: Princeton, NJ & Philly, PA. There were thousands of hipsters/dorks in line, here's hoping they have some big crowd scenes.

I live about a block away from where there shooting and they have the place lit up like the frikkin sun from 4pm-6am the next few days. We also got notices from the township to not be alarmed by simulated gunfire, helicopters, and a explosions during the week. Bay has arrived... Also I'm not sure if the train that was pictured is part of the shooting, it's been there for the last twenty years.

Well, the Rob Zombie / Halloween TB's were pretty bad...but with very good reason. The monotonous TF / Michael Bay thing was played out last year. It's extreme, but that doesn't mean people can't still think the movie was awful. I did, and not the whole "raped my childhood" bit. I just found it to be vapid, insultingly stupid at times, and lazy filmmaking at it's worst. Just my opinion, but I should be able to state it on a movie website.

I couldn't agree more. After all, expression of ones opinion is the intent of having Talkbacks in the first place, right? I also feel that TF was nothing more than eye candy and over acting. I would be a liar if I said I didn't enjoy the movie. However, having grown up with G1 cartoons, toys, etc. I'd never go as far as some of the mothers basement dwelling fanboys that put the movie on the same level as a sexually abusive step father...in that it destroyed their childhood and life will never be the same. The posting of Fuck you Michael Bay over and over is prepubescent at best. And the people that post things of the ilk should be banned from wasting bandwidth.

Those trains were just running like business as usual, had nothing to do with the filming. I was there from 8-6 AM, Tyrese is there, and they were filming the ground soldiers storming through the city to the big blast furnaces that are all lit up, while 3 black hawks flew at ground level through the place. Explosions are tonight and tomorrow night, and then they're done and out of here. I'll provide pictures up here tonight.

Last week, I went down on my lunch break to check out the set and that very same helicopter was flying around the steel plant, circling, coming in for landings, then taking off before actually touching down. I sent photos in to Harry. Anyway, was there again tonight. Everyone in town was sitting around watching. Not much going on, but its exciting nonetheless. Can't wait to see this local historic landmark on the big screen in a huge summer blockbuster.
