I love All Warhammer stuff, but 40k is the best. I played table top back in the 90's/80's. But as of late its just video games. I always wished they would make movies about 40k. Gotta be hard R. And now i am thinking instead of Live Action, make it killer CGI. All of the races are sweet. I am partial to the Space Marines. But I love the Necrons. Hell, I dig all the races.

Yeah I realize theres an entire army of people (none of whom have have ever been laid)but this site isnt for this crap. Its Aint it COOL not "hey heres my new girl repellent set." Theres Geek-cool then theres being a complete loser. Guess which one this is? Whats next ? A review of the top, jump rope and set of jacks you got for christmas? Serious misfire here.

It is still equated that gamers can't get any lovin. The fact of the matter is, a TON of people play, and some of them are even pretty hot females. Shit, most of the people i game with are married with kids. Gaming has gotten me aid quite a few times. So it's not really the girl repellent you have visioned. Talkbacks and related forums are simply a venue for the ignorant to indulge their ignorance and expect everyone to heed their attention. Gaming, like comics, sci-fi/fantasy media, has evolved and grown as it aged with the target audience. Anyone still expressing 'girl repellent' stereotypes is still stuck in an opinion formed in 1980. Get over it and pay them no heed. 'Cool' is and always will be a relative concept.

Such as the following: 1. Armored Companies. Especially with a Baneblade, 2x Basilisks and 2x Leman Russ'. 2. Cult of Speed Ork Army. With looted IG tanks and the like. There are a coupls other lists that sound like they may be viable with the new improvements you suggessted. Hopefully this has rules in the book for Chaos armies devoted to ONE power. The new book was /fail.

I am a long-time Eldar player and 5E sounds like they're taking away what made the Eldar worth playing, namely Fleet of Foot. It was the only thing that kept the fragile Eldar alive. Now, if anyone can use it, they're screwed. I'll still use them, but maybe it's time to start collecting an Imperial Guard army. Or, better yet, succumb to the calling of a Space Marines chapter! Any word on whom and when the first 5E Codex is going to feature?

@HiWayRobry: Marines are the first confirmed release post-5th. The exact timing is up in the air, but it sounds like Sept-Oct time frame. There's also been talk about Space Wolves by EOY, which seems odd to do Marines followed by more Marines...IG is rumored after the start of the year, and the next xenos is expected to be Dark Eldar. Regarding fleet, Eldar players will still have an advantage of being able to run and then assault in the same turn, which other non-fleet races will not be able to do if they choose to run...

Massawyrms taste in game seem to be the equivalent, in film terms, of liking Jerry Bruckheimer or Van Dam films. Flashy, sometimes entertaining, sometimes stupid, but leaving you empty at the end of it all. If you want a real game, start with something like HERO system or GURPS. Not the tardfest of D&D 4. If you want a real miniatures game, start with DBM, not the ripoff fest of 40k.

Slow your roll there, sparky. That's like looking at my recent reviews and claiming I only watch blockbusters. It's blockbuster gaming season. The kids are out of school and the two biggest games in the world are releasing new editions. It's news. But if you think I live in Austin fucking texas and don't have a fondness for a certain Generic Universal Role Playing System - then you're out of your damn fool mind. But come on, dude. You're gonna bag on 4E and bring up GURPS and HERO? What, didn't want to get grouped in with the trendy kids playing White Wolf? Don't pretend to have indie cred and name the 2nd tier games. Go really deep and talk about seriously indie stuff. Oh, and when I game with historicals, I prefer to use the systems from the '70s. That stuff was crazy insane. HiWay - Fleet is still awesome. You can RUN then still ASSAULT for crying out loud. Your E;dar aren't going anywhere powerwise. In fact, Waveserpents got cool as hell.

This site has been going to shit lately. "Sex in the City" Talkbacks? Fuck me. I am glad somebody finally acknowledged how big 40k is. As far as I am have seen for the past 10 years it's pretty much the cornerstone of any game shop. Did that poster really bring up FUCKING GURPS? GURPS?! When was that created, 1982? If he would have brought up RIFTS that's another story. Warhammer and Warhammer 40k ripped off Moorcock first and Tolkien second, but have been pretty much the influence for so many games and especially influenced Warcraft/Starcraft. I just hope they have not made the Space Marines overpowering in the upcoming codex. However, it does look like the Orks are back with a vengeance!

I loved Earthdawn and VOR: The Maelstrom. I guess I'm just a tard. Anyway, Massa. I guess I better change my first impression of what the new rules would do to my beloved Eldar. The Wraithguard used to be the sh*t with a Wraithcannon that could send a model into the Warp. And I love me some Warping Spiders! I guess I'll have to invest in some more vehicles though. All I have is a single Fire Prism. Damn, I'm all geeked out about playing 40K again. Damn you, Massawyrm!! :)

i wonder if my models are still legal for play. 40k is one of the BIGGEST time and money sinks there is, especially when they keep invalidating their old rules and shit, requiring you to buy a whole new bunch of crap. it's still fun though.

I still have my Orc Army from way back in 2nd edition. The Ork codex Ere We Go has a pride of place on my bookshelf. Frankly though I haven't played in years. They dumbed it down too much.
