that didn't like crouching tiger? now, admittedly, it had the most bad ass sappy romantic line i've ever heard ("i would rather roam this world as a ghost than enter Heaven without you," or some such) but other than that it was just a bunch of people being drug around by wires.

i'd rather watch Fist of Legend or any early Jackie Chan.

or maybe even Ninja Warrior on G4.

I saw a kungfu movie on kungfu theatre in L.A. It was about a drunken kungfu fighter, but it was NOT Jackie Chan. He had to fight some guys with iron legs and iron fists and some other guys with like fire fists and when he punched you it left a burn imprint of his hand on you and another guy had fire feet that left a burn mark of his foot on you. If anyone knows the title of this flick please let me know. Its been like 25yrs since I've seen it and wanna watch it again. Thanks dorks.

Depends who you ask. Most in Taiwan would argue the current government of China is still illegitimate. But with most of the world formally recognizing China in the 1970's one could easily argue that the definitive end of the Chinese Civil war was 1949, as Mao's forces had easily taken total control of mainland China.

pretty brilliant on a story level. Woo's good with action. Ang Lee should be involved in this, but its good to see Woo doing something ike this. Sounds like a good subject matter.

The doves say they will return to work if their breadcrumb portions are upped by 20%, and they are not asked to suddenly flutter upward in groups more than ten times per day. Producers are optimistic that production can resume soon.

when he's good, he's the best there is. his gunplay mayhems is, personally, the best action sequences ever put on celluloid. some might favor hollywood pyrotechnics, wire-fu, sfx, cars chases, etc. but for me, nothing can match the sheer thrill of watching a well choreographed gunplay. and woo is the best at what he does.

there's a reason tarantino & scorsese are a fan. face/off, hardboiled, the killer - these are the works of a genuine artist.

I still think woo is over-rated. Mission Impossible II is so dull I can't watch it and I thought Face Off sucked. I haven't seen Hard Boiled or The Killers. I love Tarintino, but I don't assume that the movies he likes are gonna be good, because I've tried watching some the movies he likes I their unwatchable like that Sonny Chiba stuff. I don't get Chiba I prefer anything they do in Hong Kong.
What's the deal with the video?

..obviously haven't seen the killer, a better tommorow and especially hard boiled. This guy set the precedent for action crime dramas in asia.Sure MI2 was somewhat disapointing, but hard target and face off are fucking classics.Haters; Move along, Move along..

back in the day when I would pay an average of 80 bucks to get copies of his VHS movies in the early 90's....I thought these were some of the greats action movies I ever seen, especially with thier themes..then he came over here and did Hard Target which I enjoyed for its his actions scenes.. I still enjoy the movie. I still think that movie could had been even better without studio and star interference (but it was his first US movie)...I didnt care that much for Broken Arrow. I loved Face Off (saw it 3 times in the theater)---after that though BLAH!! He kinda died to me, lol..At least I got HT, FO and all of his Hong Kong films to remember him by.
awesome, I love the Woo...
