Will have Gordon Ramsey swearing at the top of his lungs to shitty reality TV theme music and a 5 minute preview and recap before and after every commercial break. Wait, wrong fucked up U.S. remake.
Alright sweet.

I've bookmarked this node and shall return in late August. Until then, after May 29th, I think the Coaxial side bar will be dead to me.

For some reason, Fox broadcasts local news at 10, followed by local programming. Same with CW. The big 3 networks have programming until 11 (eastern time), when they have local news.

That is the most depressing Fall line-up I have ever seen. Even with the writers' strike, this is the best these billionaires could come up with? This is the year the broadcast TV castle dissolves into wet sand sucking away out into the ocean. Thank God for cable. What's next? A weekly hour drama about fat guys playing leap frog?

Featuring Weekend Update, SNL's most consistently "falls flat on its face" unfunny sketch for at least the past 15 years.

I can't wait! What a wonderful time to come up with this idea! Maybe if we're lucky Jimmy Fallon will use this to "warm up" for his new post taking Conan's spot.

Speaking of which, Fallon's head must be legendary since nobody except maybe Queen Latifah enjoys his hack humor. (Read: complete poor man's ripoff of Adam Sandler (my friends do better improv impressions.) And stunning ability to laugh at his own jokes (which weren't funny in the first place) uncontrollably the entire duration of the sketch. Instead of telling more. Maybe he does this so he doesn't have to tell any more horrid jokes.

Ugh, more Weekend Update?

It's sad how jealous they are of the Daily Show, when they know they will never ever be anywhere near as funny.

wasn't the whole point of the original SNL that they were the "Not Quite Ready for Primtime Players" isn't SNL supposed to be about beng hip and edgy and not for mom and dad on thursday night. And finally wouldn't it make more sense to go Earl, The Office, 30 Rock then TNL? Someone above pointed it out correctly it's an attempt to rip off the Daily Show/Colbert and present it to middle america in all it's safe cozy warm packaging

I'm NOT a SNL Hater/MadTV lover, I can enjoy SNL but man...

if if if they are serious about this, first of all get rid of the two person anchor, it worked with Curtin and Ankroyd, it didn't work with Fey/Fallon, sort of worked with Fey/Pohler, and just sees to be crusing along with Pohler/and who she is with now. Find someone NOT associated with the SNL desk, who is a talented comedian with an eye on current events. I know ROOT OF ALL EVIL has it's detrectors but some of their stuff is funny, snag one of those guys, Giraldo maybe..or even get Rich Voss or hell Dave Mordel..I'm just spitballing here, I don't know, but the Weekend Update format needs a change

Why didn't they just use John Simm...

...for the US "Life on Mars?!" like most British actors on US TV, he can probably do a credible American accent, and we already know he's a great actor! This O'Mara guy looks like a soap actor, or worse, one of those faceless "guest stars" on CSI. Jeebus. This version is going to blow big time, as do most British Americanizations. Bleah. Even Colm Meaney in the screaming DI role won't mitigate the suck.

with the Office II it'll be a mid season replacement, they might even go the way they did with the original office (US) version) and only make it 8 eps long

Because it seems all their shows are here. Life on Mars, $5 bet, it won't be better than the British version which I watch religiously. It's a great show. Do Not Disturb (working title): Can we say "Hotel Babylon" also a BBC show. Which is one of my top 10 best shows on TV. If you guys haven't watched it. Get the DVD it is hilarious and deep. Of course, US version will suck.

Of course, they immediately tried to get John Simm AND Philip Glenister. Both said no, according to Glenister, "to keep from going batshit insane" (or something to that effect). Then Glenister turned around and signed on to Ashes to Ashes.

I enjoy LIFE, but I wasn't able to catch many episodes. I will probably give LIFE ON MARS a shot, but looks to be it in terms of new shows. I hate NBC for cutting LAS VEGAS...that was the go to show for dumb fun and hot chicks. It just worked at the end of the week, man.
Hmm, from the descriptions...

I might give Crusoe and My Own Worst Enemy a try. They're both in crappy timeslots though and likely won't last. And Of course, I'll give Dollhouse a good watching, when that comes on. I originally wanted to watch Lost for the Crusoe feel, but I can't imagine how that got made into a show with so few characters (although that might be a good idea with the upcoming actors strike).

... with that crappy Knight Rider series? Oh well, looks like Fringe will have 4 episodes... Bubba and LuVerne love them summa them thar ree-ality shows... "Looky heer, it's a whole fambly 'a' fatties jes' lahk us'ns!" Chuck'll probably either get Terminated or Gossiped into oblivion. "Eh... we're to lazy and stupid to figure out Saturday night... and too cheap to buy new shows... let's just put on Knight Rider and SVU again so we can go snort some more blow and bang trannie hookers!" Ugly Betty... Grey's Anatomy... estrogen level sky high... followed by a chunk of testosterone like Life On Mars?!!? What... is Thursday on ABC being programmed by one of those sex-changing alien Amish from that old X-Files episode? Heroes is BACK!!!!... meh... I got "Lucased" too badly by this show last year to care anymore. All in all... I'll just have to wait it out until February 2009 and new Lost episodes, that's all I have to say. TV sucks!

wasn't there another "nerd" comedy NBC had set for this past midseason with The Soup's Joel McHale? Granted he's probably better off doing snarky comedy on E than stuck on a lame sitcom..
Why does House never get any love on AICN?

No House talkbacks, no House news, no one mentions it typically in talkbacks even if its somehow involved. . .Why?- It's ratings are among television's best, it's edgy and well produced, its writing (this season excepted) is typically above the pale, and, most of all, it's protagonist is the closest representation to an Aintitcool talkbacker in American media: a smart, snarky, socially retarded jerk with the maturity of a high school freshman.
