Live action. Only seen a couple of production stills, but they were definitely live action.

I'm interested, but is it a kids' movie or what? The poster makes it look like the Incredibles or something. Too bad Shyamalan has been banished from Hollywood, otherwise I bet this would have been right up his alley.

I've already seen this movie. It was called Dark City, Matrix Reloaded and The Time Machine. I've also seen the poster too. It was called Eragon.

I am really looking forward to this film. I like the cast, i like the sound of the story, i like the look from the stills i've seen so far - but this poster is simply crap.

Awesome sounding flick, very intriguing premise, but man that poster is a disaster. It looks like it should be the follow-up to ZOOM. Some kind of kiddie superhero flick. It should have more a The Fountain vibe, beautiful and haunting.

The summary sounds interesting, and I'm tentatively looking forward to it... but this scares me a little:

"...will have teens clamoring for a sequel."

Anything that's so blatantly intended to be a franchise starter is almost always a failure. That's what killed Golden Compass.

It was filmed inside a giant building that was used to paint huge ships. It must have been awesome to look at. I hope this turns out well for them. Bad poster though, although obviously just a teaser. Were they going for an OZ vibe? Not the HBO prison show, needless to say...

"Anything that's so blatantly intended to be a franchise starter is almost always a failure. That's what killed Golden Compass" Well I'd say the dodgy script or inexperienced director might have been what killed the poor old Golden Compass.

The lover of epic metaphysical cinema in me weeps for what might've been with His Dark Materials. Those books are what I want a civilization 4000 years in our future to find in the ruins of our own, and assume is our Bible.

It's not the worst poster ever (that honor still falls to Tarsem's THE FALL, narrowly edging out GOOD LUCK CHUCK's Lennon/Yoko ripoff). But the Talkbackers are right: compared to this, the original book cover was a classic image. (It really does look like an Internet Explorer poster too -- good one ricarleite.)

environmentalism and the importance of recycling, this is the movie you've been waiting for. From the book, the Mayor represents us greedy Americans and our insatiable desire for, uh, street lights and such. The book also works on a simpler, Twilight Zoney, what-if level.

The poster should be less flashy. Get rid of the logo and stupid "Get out" deal and you're one the right track. But it sounds neat. I'll keep an eye on this one.
E = Corporate Logo

Alice13 is right. That E-lightning circle looks like a Microsoft logo. I was thinking of something else when I first saw the poster, but now I can't get that Microsoft image out of my head. Fuck.

I really want to like this film, but they'll need to do a lot better (less obvious corporate dicksucking) to get me in the theater. A more evocative, classic logo would go a long way toward this.
