Iron Man in Australia!

The film Iron Man was of a reasonable quality and probably worth the price of entrance to the modern cineplex! Or perhaps, when compared to those films which are considered the true masterpieces of the cinematic artform the film Iron Man is just average mainstream pop corn munch-munch turd-burglar?
I give it a 4, out of 5 (Iron Man)

Not the best superhero (since it has the same dull 'bad guy' from Hulk and Batman Begins) but not bad, at all, like Daredevil...
Iron Man in New Zealand!

The film Iron Man was pretty good and probably justified an excursion from home to the local cineplex. But really, when I sit down and think about all of the films I truly love, Iron Man just does not compare. For example, I love things like: Taxi Drive, The Shining and Apocalypse Now and I feel that describing Iron Man as a 'Super Hero Movie' does not exclude the movies comparison with those films which are truly considered masterpiece. I even thought that "The Assasination of Richard Nixon" was better than Iron Man. But I still loved Iron Man. It makes me sad, the world we live in.

Unfortunately half the films you list above don't seem to be coming out in Perth. And the other half I've seen. Yes. Shame on me for some of them....
Giant Crocodile Movies

Now, please do not get me wrong, I know the definition of a 'genre film' and understand the validity of such, but sometimes a human needs to ask a few questions about the world they live in and what passes for entertainment in this day and age. Personally, I would rather eat my wife's vagina for one hundred hours than pay to see some ludicrous bullshit about some giant crocadillo. Also, crocadillo is not funny. This one time I went to band camp and put my instrument inside my vagina - this line is one of the purest examples of the golden foundations upon which modern cinema is based!

Cultural significance: Iron Man in Australasia
by telemarketer

Really, what does it mean to enjoy a film like Iron Man, with all of its themes and symbolism - perhaps one of the most exclusively American films of recent years, in Australia. Please explain how your geographical, and perhaps cultural, experience coloured your viewing of the movie. Otherwise, what's the point - if you're just going to review the film from the perspective of an American - what are you offering here? I found Iron Man both fun and disturbing in equal measure and would like to fuck that lady Tony was scared to fuck because she was taller than him.

In Australia, an IRON MAN is someone who eats Nutri-grain. That's Iron-man food you see. as an austrailan, I didn't feel the movie was nearly as heart pounding or adrenaline pumping as the commercials for this beloved cereal that looks like an E.T. face but it was still great none-the-less.

Nope, it's one film based on the Hobbit, one film using the appendices of LOTR and associated writings of Tolkien to make a bridging film between the Hobbit and Fellowship.

Jackson's camp responded to that rumor about a week ago. Needless to say, it was rubbish: www.comingsoon.net/news/movien ews.php?id=44628 As for the people who like to point out how old any given news item is, this is an AUSTRALIAN column which comes out once a week (usually). The news items, which all have a focus on Australia in some way, are gathered throughout the week from other online articles. So... obviously the news is old! This isn't a BREAKING NEWS column. Get a life.
